Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

I wonder if we could commission one of Harry's kinetic absorption/blast rings? We could charge it very quickly when we want to, and it might be a way for us to deliver a significant amount of damage via ramming at high speed while negating much of the impact upon ourselves.

You could but the trouble is you do not have the skill to perform maintenance. Pretty much everything Harry makes requires it which is why he does not have more gadgets than James Bond. Once you get Constructive Convergence of Principles this would be easier for you since would give you enough insight to shape essence to repair works of mortal magic.

I think mechanically that's not so much a real magic item as a Focus he uses magic better/easier through.

But I also think outside of solariod charms meant to allow you to ignore impact
Yeah, I not really married to RAW self-damage invincibility. I guess either Perfect Soak Shenanigans or Laughing Shrapnel Arrival rewrite.

I do think that this should be a viable alpha-strike strategy with a max of 2 charms needed to enable it, tho. It is a cool aesthetic.

We do have the ability to make our own armor at any time.

And I do like the glowing runes talking about our greatness on it.
That's a fair point, but it also costs essence and has a limited duration. Something for when we want to fly around without the added expense would be nice.
It's nothing I just learned that even divine assholes sometimes have reasons for being what they are. Still reasons or no Emma-O must be opposed."
I hadn't actually read most of Emma-O's history before looking to see what Lydia was talking about here. I feel kind of bad for the guy now.

Not enough to change my mind overall, but if we ever get big enough to wreck his stuff we should make a note to leave the Ainu heaven alone.

No, the force rings and his jacket are both proper enchantments. His staff, blasting rod, and shield bracelet are his primary foci.

Apropos of nothing, Solar ramming charms allow 500+ damage on a charge. What the hell.
… why tho.

Who am I kidding, I'd want to do that too if we could. Doesn't really fit with our build though.

But seriously, is there anything that you're allowed to do damage to in the game that can soak that? Seems like anything over around 30 damage or so is solidly in perfect defense or bust territory.

White Wolf games are not designed for Balance. That 500+ damage not aggravated is not hard to reach. Smiling Jack who has Celerity 6(Go Fast) and Potence 6(Super Strength). Those to are a wicked combo, Smiling Jack has the strength to pick up a car, and throw it fast enough to break the Sound Barrier. Admittedly that is by using probably the 2 best combat powers used in tandem, but yeah.

Yeah, that's gross overkill for most everything. You don't tank this, you use perfects or perfect equivalents. It isn't actually super practical unless you need to blow up a mountain or nuke a city, tbh.

Still, the numbers are pretty.

Not quite. Solaroids build around Fivefold Bulwark or Perfect Eye could reliably soak this much without needing to spam perfects. Definitively starting to approach the limits of ExWoD core charmset at that point, though.

So, some thoughts and questions, mostly on alchemy, since we have a round of voting for recipes coming:
1) If we take superglue/super epoxy (1 dot), could we rig something like worm confoam grenades? Ie quick glue dispensers that trap anyone caught in the blast in super-sticky quickly hardening foam. We'll need to know of we can make the glue / epoxy instantly setting.

2) Unbreakable mirror. The description says that it's a mirrored surface that can't be broken by "normal force". Getting a perfect effect for 1 dot is very cheap, if it's really perfect. What would the limitations be? If it's really a perfect (at least in exalt's hands), we could at the very least make Murphy, who is primarily a cop dealing with mundane dangers, a very good armor.

3) Poison. The description says it's "a potent toxin (rating 7)". Does anyone know how much rating 7 is? I tried looking through 20th anniversary editions using "toxin" as a keyword, but wasn't able to find anything. And the further question is if we could pour additional successes into higher toxicity.

4) Healing potions. There are two different ones at 1 dot, and a third one at two dots, which includes the effects of one of the one dot ones. Could we combine two known potion recipes to obtain a potion with effects of both? This way we basically get a videogame health potion, which would be very cool.

  1. Worm Confoam is a bit more than just some high quality glue (it also has to expand, allow the victim to breathe etc...), I'd call that a level 2 recipe, but otherwise sure you can make a sprayer.
  2. I'm going to say that is perfect in the 'what you are likely to encounter in day to day life', so it will stand up to a handgun at least, maybe riffle-fire, but it is also a mirror so if you want to make it into armor it's going to have to be pretty obvious plate
  3. I think that is just the DC of the poison. DC 8 should be doable, but you are going to be hinting magical snakes for their fangs to get that
  4. You can, but that would need three dots

1) So, we take the canon 1 dot recipe and spend AP to research / make an upgraded 2 dot version?
2) I was thinking scale mail, but yes, ot would be very obviously looking.
3) The higher levels of success would go to either quantity or how long it keeps, I guess?
4) So, is this something that works in general - combining known recipes? Assuming compatible effects of course. How does this scale? Highest ranking recipe + 1? Sum of combined recipe dot ratings? The second one means that only up to 3 + 3 dot recipes are combinable.

  1. Sure you can do that
  2. Scale works too sure
  3. Yes, both those explicitly scale with success on all potions
  4. Given how many potential recipes there are I think it would be best to approach them on a case by case basis

I think there are a few stats for things like true giants in the medieval version of the setting that have like 300 health boxes.

Well, combining superglue and superpoison for one seem like an obvious idea. For later, and strategically, combining multiple Ability enhancers into basically "social", "physical", "science", etc enhancers also seems logical.

Is there room in the garage for another car?

Not really, but you do have a parking space to put Black Rider in at the Chicago Synthetics warehouse.

Those seem possible in theory

We have less need of a car now with RVD and superspeed. If we can get a water road of some sort between places we regularly go to they might as well be in the same house to us.
_____________
How do our crafting charms interact with alchemy? I don't know how quick normal alchemy is, but we should have a 5 times crafting speed by default.

Car is important for transport still.
Also to get to places without running at implausible speed through the city.

We can run in emergencies, but we really shouldn't in most situations.

If your paradigm of alchemy uses the skills then it does indeed work like that and given that Molly is designing this style from the ground up knowing you have the charm she will do so.

Sooo, just wondering what are we going to do with our Despair-Vamp minion?

She propably won't abstain from becoming a full Vampire forever, even if she theoretically could due to our influence.
