[X] The hive foundations: You don't even know how the mechanicus expedition that discovered the manufacturrum managed to clear its way down here. Down in the darkness of the hives foundation there could be wondrous treasure hidden from sunlight for millennia but be ware for all great treasures are defended by equally great beasts and those whom have nothing else in the world but the darkness.

Who wants to be a noble of the upper levels when they can forge an empire within the lowest of depths? Maybe even change the course of the hives future by securing a portion of the foundations.

I think you mean regular DAoT tech, because that was the height of human technology

If we discover pre-DAoT tech though we may be able to better understand their foundational design principles and make slight progress working back toward those heights even if the path will need to be altered due the discovered nature of the abominable intelligence... Just don't tell the mechanicus at all or at least until we have substantially better position which is probably not even enough still.

No no no go on and tell them you might be mucking about with AI they'll definitely turn you and your entire workforce into servitors absolutely understand.

Oh no no no! You misunderstood! I suggest trying to retrace some of the technological development of pre DAoT with human automation instead of with abominable intelligence! Still tech heresy but slightly less bad! Only the entire leadership and any potential researchers will probably be turned into servitors. The menial labor may potential be preserved if the mechanicus force leader is feeling especially benevolent and merciful.

so they have a 1% chance, not bad for menials
Indeed! It's an infinity percentage improvement! Should we also succeed in the research a variation of DAoT Tech may be reliably producible once more, probably around thousands of years or maybe a single thousand years should the eternal war somehow end (and imperium doesn't die a bit afterwards), down the line if we keep up the breakneck speed of technological development! Isn't it worth the colossal risk?

Omake Policy
As a quest goer and now a first time GM, I would like to inform everyone that omakes will give rewards based on quality and word count (Min. 300 words). These rewards can range from small one time bonuses to long term/permeant bonuses to advisors to rolls on the loot wheel. I will try my best to judge them fairly and reward effort.

[X] The lower levels: It is quite likely that something of great value remains in the ruins but your operation will have to fight for its life and you will be constantly fighting off an unending tide of gangs, mutants and beasts.
[X] Near the middle of the lower hive: This area is low enough that something could have been missed by the scavengers but your operation will have difficulty starting up and will likely be beset by an unending stream of gangs.

Peace, comfort, a full nights sleep? Sounds like something only the weak need. The forge of hardship will either destroy us or make us into something glorious. Maybe we may even do the near impossible and do a positive change for our neighborhood of the galaxy? A servant of the god emperor can dream...

End of the Line
As you descended into the bowels of the hive to reach your newly awakened manufactorum, you begin to get more and more nervous as the sounds of an active hive slowly becomes quieter and quieter, and the metallic screeching of the lift becomes louder and louder in the vast levels of the hive. When you finally reach the very bottom of the hive, you, your force of 150 former PDF troopers, and your personal servants swiftly depart and head down the only lit path which leads to your Manufactorum. As you progress all you can see around you is the vast rusted ruins of buildings, support beams, and pipes. The air is foul and stale, there is brackish puddles of what you hope is water, and varies bits of mostly eaten mutant corpses and bones. Not 5 minutes pass when a squad of you troopers opens up on a pair of what look like might have been dogs 1000 years ago that had appeared around a corner. A similar occurance would happen 7 more times as various mutant breeds were either spotted or attacked, with 29 troopers suffering various injuries from bites to scratches.

When you finally made it to you Factory you looked upon the hastily erected fortifications of the Mechanicus and saw...

1D100: 89

A couple fairly well thought out defensive positions with a couple dozen tarantula turrets guarding the entrances and a large killing field, already sporting a couple dozen mutant corpses, with most of the rubble removed, though the stingy tech priests will want there stuff back sooner or later.

[Gain Decent Mechanicus Defences: -20 to hostile attack rolls for 3 Turns]

After finally setting in you went and looked in your masterwork mirror and see

But now that you are settled and freshened up, begin to do the required walk through of your new Demesne to see just how bad it is and after 6 hours of touring your Manufactorum (With a 2 hour break in the middle for food and rest, what are you a Menial?) and between your own opinion and the cog boys under your employ you would say its in

1D100: 30

Just as bad as you thought, which is only heartening in that it isn't somehow worse. The production lines are rusted to hell, the workers quarters are all but collapsed, the warehouses are either flooded or collapsed, and the walls are crumbling but for being the only "active" Manufactorum on this level you have
[Gain 4x Decrepit Production Lines, 4x Ruined Warehouses, and 2x Collapsed Workers Quarters]

1D20 +10: 20

A fairly large amount of workable space without needing to subsume the outlying ruins and rubble. Now you just have to repair all this and not die in one of the many painful ways that the Under Dark of the Hive Offers... Joy.

AN: Through the foul forces of Chaos indecision and Procrastination this took longer than I wanted so I'm sorry

So I think this tracks for someone who is essentially being exiled. I don't advocate for keeping Indifferent, but it seems like a reasonable jumping off point for a Spire Noble.

Can't wait for the gangs, cults, mutants and local wildlife to lay siege to our new home.
Well lucky for y'all, only 2 of those 4 things will be a problem short term. The gangers won't show up until you really get things up and running, and by extension semi-habitable down here, because right now there isn't anyone to rob and all the THINGS to rob are either hidden away or guarded by... things that go bump in the night. Cults have tried setting up in the bedrock layers but between the lack of suitable sacrifices and the wildlife regularly eating everyone... they haven't had much success.

Throwing a plan into the ring. Certain options seemed absolute must, and indifferent as a negative trait was very valuable because it's worth two. I'm also hoping genius can to some extent compensate for indifferent.

Ps: I am fully well aware that demegne selections are not balanced, I did not know when I made this plan if the various categories have to be balanced, or if it's just the total of negatives that matter. In this case I have three personal negatives and one demegne negative, but I don't actually know if that's right or not.
