Imperial scholars who have heard both of these tales suspect that each of them has been edited afterward to make their own side look good, but they keep their mouths shut about such thoughts around the elder races. Ultimately nobody alive was present to see the exact sequence of events, and it would be impossible to prove either way.

The fact that you've gone the route of historical revisionism for both the Elves and Dawi fills me with an incredible amount of joy. It's so realistic and yet somehow I didn't think to see it coming (probably because WHF lore produced by GW tends to be a little on the nose). I am so excited for your writing.

Building up to an elite aerial combat force is a yes for me.

Keep in mind we don't need to pick Knight of Tor Gaval to get a flying mount. I'm not voting for it but I still plan on getting one.
Aye, though if we do plan to specialize in aerial combat this is a great trait to get.

Also, it's a free Pegasus I think. If we don't pick the Knight of Tor Gaval trait would we have to sacrifice even more troops to gain a griffon or even just any flying mount, @Blackout?

A thought occurs to me: If we end up descended from Aenarion as well as being a survivor of the Battle of the Holy Flame...

N'Kari must hate us.

They have a grudge against Aenerion's descendants and the fact that we've had the temerity to survive their attempts at murdering us would just make them double down on it (like with Tyrion and Teclis). It's the first book of the Tyrion and Teclis trilogy (I think) - N'Kari ran around Ulthuan teleporting through the waystone network, hunting down Aenarion's descendants as well as furthering Malekith's schemes.

Eh, I mean mostly I just applied the GW standard excuse of "it's all true from a certain point of view",

Mainly I just don't want a flame war about who's really to blame.

Sort of. Knight of Tor Gaval gives you a free Pegasus, but you can also get a free Pegasus by taking Pegasus-mounted troops in the next vote. If you pick neither you don't get a Pegasus.

If you pick Blood but not Survivor, you were away from Ulthuan during N'kari's attack. If you pick Blood and Survivor, N'kari was going to go for you after the twins, but he thought two-in-one was more efficient so he went for them first.

The I guess it's a good thing we seem to be going for max anti-Chaos and an air force since the forces of Slaanesh have the weakest air presence last I recall (at least in Total War series).

I'm laughing because there I was, thinking about the sociological implications from the historiography like a nerd and then you come in with the fantastically pragmatic point of 'no elves vs dawi flame wars'.

If you pick Blood but not Survivor, you were away from Ulthuan during N'kari's attack. If you pick Blood and Survivor, N'kari was going to go after you after the twins, but he thought two-in-one was more efficient.
Great to know! Thanks very much

Considering the battle was caused by N'kari's rampage hunting the Blood of Aenarion, we're more than a little lucky to have survived or not been next on the menu before the order was given to gather the Blood at the Shrine of Asuryan.

I... genuinely don't see how? They can just vote against Blood of Aenarion, it's a direct yes/no vote.

In the top 3/6 scenario, voters are incentivized towards top 6, because that gives them the most number of options they can influence during voting.

The calculus of plans are different, there are probably going to be voters that might support for a well-argued and well-built and flavorful No Heir of Anaerion plan, who would otherwise vote Anaerion in the top 3/6 scenario because the thought of six votes mattering versus three is just too tempting to the SV quester.

Regardless, it doesn't matter, the voting format has been set.

I actually want to be able to craft magical artefacts too, so I am voting for Student of the Anvil. Because while we cannot be in many places at once to fight chaos, our artefacts can be in many places doing good in the war against Chaos, even if they are mid-tier by Asur standards.

These are votes that I include depending on the state of the progression of the vote. They might change depends on how votes and arguments progress.

[X] [TRAITS] Master Lecturer of the White Tower

Unfortunately, as much as I want this trait because the idea of being able to actually teach and train others is so appealing, I think the chances of it winning are just extremely small. No harm throwing a vote to it though.

I'd like to highlight that Master Lecturer of the White Tower giving us a bonus to teaching others might well hard carry us making our elite mercenary band even more elite as time goes by.

Yeah, well, I was really tempted to put in the effects section of the Blood that if you take it you develop an acute case of Protagonitis.

I'm the only one voting for it right now, and agree with you, but I don't know if it can get momentum. It's still early days, fingers crossed, but I think if we really want to improve our mercenary band , this trait helps alot.

But if it can't get any momentum, your point will probably not change much.

Yeah I really like the look of it too, to be completely honest. It's not as flashy as some of the other options but it's immensely practical and comes as a result of interdisciplinary skills and we're a Loremaster - that's kind of our thing.

Also, if it's late enough in the timeline, we might be able to hire our services out to the Colleges of Magic and help to build them up further, if we have Master Lecturer trait. I actually like the idea of the possibility of continuing Teclis work with the colleges, if it's open to us.

Heh. Speaking of which, were there any mechanical effects from the Gold Contraband choice.
Yes, it boosted your Learning and gave you a negative trait. Lethal Duel would have boosted Prowess and given a different negative trait.

I just didn't want you guys to vote based on mechanical effects, I wanted you to decide what kind of person Fanriel is.

I'm not against you guys doing side work, but the main point of this Quest is being a mercenary. Retiring to be a lecturer at the Colleges would most likely constitute a Quest end.

Also, the Colleges canonically already have elf lecturers/supervisors from the White Tower, Teclis didn't just dip out and leave them alone for 200 years.
