[X] Plan His Heart Will Go On
-[X] Suryavar
-[X] Rosewood[WHF]/Rhosswyd[Other]
-[X] Male
-[X] Avelorn

For any possible Avelorn origins. Also, would ppl mind if I include two forms of surname, one for WHF and the other for more 'Elvish' sounding names?

EDIT: WIll also throw a vote for the other Avelorn Asur.

-[X] Eataine
Once considered the hinterlands of Ulthuan, Eataine has risen to forefront through the strength of its merchants and the pre-eminence of Lothern, the metropolitan city that has risen to be the capital of Ulthuan. The most cosmopolitan of the kingdoms, the people of Eataine have benefitted immensely from trade, and their wealth is second to none.

I'm sorry but I'm going to have to veto this for personal reasons.

I do not feel comfortable with the main character of my quest being an expy of Littlefinger.

...I'll allow it, but I've got my eye on you. :V

Edit: And Houses names are things like House Emeraldsea from my vague recollection of WHF books. The Teclis and Tyrion ones?
Also, would ppl mind if I include two forms of surname, one for WHF and the other for more 'Elvish' sounding names?
The name of the house can be either written in english or in eltharin, both are fine. Canon uses them interchangeably anyway.

[X] Kelthinar
[X] Imaldris
[X] Male
One of the options below:
[X] Caledor
[X] Yvresse
Like Mopman said you need to put it in Plan format.

@Mopman43
Would you mind if I suggested a different name but kept your plan? I don't want to be That Rude Person and I like your plan I just wouldn't mind suggesting a name change.

It's totally fine if you say no!

If you want a different name, make a different plan name. I don't have control over what you do.

People already voted for it, can't change it now.

[X] Plan: In Which I Overthink a Name
-[X] Liandra
-[X] Nirlach
-[X] Female
-[X] Yvresse

(Based on Plan: Chaos Hunter)

So, the name Liandra Nirlach and my thought process behind it!

Liandra is an Asur name that turns up in the TWWH series, doesn't sound ridiculous and I can actually pronounce in my head.

Nirlach on the other hand is borrowing from Tolkein's Sindarin (because there's plenty of Tolkein inspiration to be found in the Asur, in Tar-Eltharin and elsewhere) where Nîr is tear or weeping and Lach is a flame, specifically a leaping flame.

So you'd probably translate it as Tearflame or something like that. Which I like because it keeps a nod to the dual meaning in translation to the english we're reading it in.

There's tear to do with crying but there's also tear as in 'tear away' and that can be a nod to the leaping nature of the flame - that it has energy and it attempting rapid movement along with. So it preserves the impression of Eltharin having multiples levels of meaning that are hard to carry across into human tongues.

[X] Plan: Chaos Hunter
-[X] Fanriel

-[X] Female
-[X] Yvresse

I going to lie here, on this site i see female WHF quest last a long time, i don't know if it cause people like it or cause the setting is less gender lock in what people can do , for me, i like a male 40k and female Fantasy

I'm relatively new here, on the site, but my reasoning for voting female is simply that I would have liked a larger number of significant female Asur (which is probably my favourite faction or close to the top regardless) in WHF and this is a way to fulfill that, more or less.

I was not expecting Yvresse to be this popular, I was fully expecting everyone to go for Eataine, Avelorn or Saphery.

Not that I'm complaining, it's a kingdom that doesn't often get a lot of focus in the books or fanworks, so it'd be interesting to write about and expand upon their culture.

Mmm, 40k is a bit of a sausagefest sometimes. Not that WHF doesn't have its issues (Out of over a hundred special characters on the tabletop there's less than ten who are female) but there's a lot more room for original female characters because the by far most popular faction isn't locked to males only. There's definitely (and obviously) still in-universe sexism in the setting, but it's more about attitudes and such rather than being hard-locked out of things.

Just so you guys know too, I've vetoed this plan because I really don't feel comfortable having the main character of the quest be an expy of Littlefinger. So if you want your votes to be counted you'll need to switch for something else.

Gonna do the opposite pairs on the color wheel? Light and Shadow, Death and Gold, etc?
To be honest the Wheel never made any sense to me, why is the opposite of Death Metal and not Life? Beasts fits Metal (Logic vs Instinct) way better than Heavens, and that leaves us with Fire to pair that with, which doesn't fit perfectly but at least there's an angle (cold/sea vs warmth/fire, dreaming of the future vs passion in the moment).

I think there's ways you can read it that make sense (though I suppose that's mostly just proof of the Winds all having large conceptual boundaries)

Death is the Wind of endings while Metal represents permanence, Life is about growth and regrowth while Fire is generally sheer destruction and the force that burns down the forest for regrowth to happen, etc.

If we're from here we might know Blackout's favorite character, the Everkin- I mean Everqueen!
