Considering the apparent potency of Essence in comparison to the magic commonly used in DF, and the relative weakness of the Ordo, I think we should err on the side of extreme caution here.
Adding what amounts to weapons grade supernatural Plutonium to the ritual might already cause unforeseen side-effects. Who knows what doubling or even tripling that might do?

That should brew up some trouble. Not just giving bad luck, but luck with malice that makes everything feel hopeless and spiteful. Where all the world seems turned against you because it is. Every paper cuts, every tile edge stubs a toe, every drop of water causes a slip and the night does not hide them only blinds them.

It isn't entirely thematic, by adding her blood to the spell Lydia managed to add a trigger that will make every dog and Crow within a football field go crazy with noise making when these wards are activated as well as directing their ire.

COMMENTARY
Beckitt's sharpness at least suggests that, sleeping together or not, Marcone hasnt told her anything about Molly's adventures a couple weekends ago. Else she'd be a lot more polite.
I wonder how much of this is just irritation at the teenager with Occult 5.
As an aside, Beckitt used to be a financial manager. Managed hundreds of millions of dollars before going to jail.
Woman used to be a proper one percenter before her daughter was shot and she and her dead husband went into a death spiral that resulted in them funding a black magic sorcerer's drug business
-Nice to see Lydia and Abby hit it off. Girl could use other friends in the magical community that arent Molly.
And it does synergize neatly with the fact that she has a couple charms for enchanting animals
-Lydia brings up the fact that we're going to need a second car thats more lowkey than the Mercedes for getting around some places. I vote beige Audi station wagon. Obviously we only buy it after someone attempts to get at Molly by blowing up the Toyota Echo, or T-boning it with a pickup truck.

@DragonParadox why can't Lydia donate 2 essence? She's essence 2, same as us. And while 3 is a great number, 4 is to, for 4 is the number of season, and we can stand for Winter and Summer, ours being the power of the darkness and frost, sun and fire, while Lydia stands for Spring and Autumn, as is her ancestry.
She can, but 4 Essence sounds like it would blow up in Helen's hands cauldron or no, that is a lot of power by any reasonable mortal standard. With 2 and 1 it makes sense for the Infernal to do the 2 since cursing is more your thing than Lydia's.

2 is also a great number representing ying and yang. 1 is a great number representing unity and wholeness. 5 is a great number representing the 5 classical elements.

How much power does Molly and Usum think this cauldron can channel safely?
We have Per 2 + Occult 5, we should be able to make a guess without burning a Crown of Eyes question.
For the Dresdenverse, 3 specifically is significant in Dresdenverse magic.
There's no explanation, it just is.

I feel like that is answered in story by the vote options. They basically include Molly's knowledge.
1-3 all sound possible, though with accenting levels of risk for something going wrong. 4 is where it is more likely than not to blow hence why it is not an option.

I think the problem is that not only the Cauldron matters, but the ritual participants too.

Also if we apply our essence with more then supernatural skill then the definition of 'channel safely' can stretch a lot further. Of course that stretches even further if we wet ourself.

The crown use should be legit - it's the same as we used when Dresden soulgazed us, only the subject is "channeling power through this cauldron". And before anyone starts talking about secrecy - we use the crown first, so even if our anima lights up in the process, it doesn't do so when we use the crown. And we can always claim some understanding of magic, even if it's esoteric in nature. "We have a lot of power, and know ways to channel it safely" is not that strange.

Imagine how Lydia feels. If Molly wasn't around she would be a massively overwhelming Godblood. And she still is, but I expect that with Molly around she doesn't feel nearly so overpowered.
