Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

Our anima is glowing.
Eyes everywhere, limned in green fire.
Looks like we're trading unmentioned secrets with Gard.
Why is our anima lit up, anyway? We didn't spend enough essence to light it involuntarily, so is there some mechanical reason that it was more beneficial to activate it?

The anima power of a Crown of Eyes user is that you cannot launch surprise attacks on them.
Cant jump out of a closed door behind them, or attack them while invisible, or snipe them from a thousand meters away.
They'll always notice and be able to defend against it while their anima is active.

@BronzeTongue, I don't suppose you would be willing to remove using the Tool Charm to help the wounded man from your vote? That's an Essence expenditure th a we could really come to regret later.
I'm concerned about essence too, but if we want to make a real effort at keeping him alive and proceed without police involvement we need to pay for it somewhere. Hopefully inspecting the handiwork of an ageless Valkyrie in the prison cell will give us an opportunity to earn some essence.

Or maybe just getting experience with ghouls, since they seem new enough relative to Usum that Molly's occult score may be a little sparse on them.
To be fair, caller ID spoofing services were a thing in 2006.
Clippy would just use one of those.
Thats said, I'd vote for you.
Fair enough. I haven't really worked with that sort of thing before, so I didn't really think about it. I'm good with whatever works, but something like this is probably more IC since Molly probably wouldn't think of spoofing caller ID at tech 1.

All that said, I think some modifications are in order.

@Goldfish has a point about clearing the rest of the building, but we don't need everyone on that given the way Gard can go through mortals. We can send our allies to clear the rest of the shop while we work here.

I also think some intimidation would be a good idea, to keep these guys compliant and unwilling to squeal on us later.

We should probably also stunt for more dice.

[]Attempt to provide some immediate first aid to stabilize the guy at risk of dying, using tool transcending constructs if necessary
-[] If successful at keeping him alive, instruct the others to elevate his legs and keep an eye on his injuries. Call an ambulance only after we've left with Cindy
-[] If unsuccessful, have the other minions elevate his legs, put pressure on his wound, and call for help as the assault team enters the undercity
-[] In either case, when making that call have Clippy reach out to Burny and instruct him to do it for us.
-[] Ask Gard and Michael to look for the last two together while we clean up
-[] [Stunt] "Look for the last two, I'll see what I can do for this one. Then we can decide" Molly says with a sigh.
—[] Turning to the former thralls, Molly flicks her wrists and summons forth a nightmare of needles, scalpels, and delicate mechanical limbs stuck at a place between spider leg and squid tentacle that should not exist.
—[] "You boys are going to stay quiet, do what I tell you, and try very hard to forget everything that's happened since we got here" she says as the tools in her hands slide into unsettlingly lifelike motion.
—[] "Trust me on this, for guys like you 'shut up and forget' are the words that keep bad things from following you home at night"

Thoughts?

Some people proxy voted for me, so I don't want to outright switch before everyone gets a chance to look at the revision.

1)Gard handcuffed and presumably leg cuffed all four of them.
No plan should rely on any of them doing something other than shutting up and staying quiet until law enforcement get here.

2)You can triangulate a cellphone's location from three different towers, and in urban areas there's usually at least three in any area.
And Burny has been activated and in Dresden's apartment for almost a full day now, and will be in phone company records if they choose to look. Geolocating it is easy.

Just have Clippy use a number spoofer online.

Do we have the time to stop here? We could stop and question, or we could continue with the assault. Then once we are done we could maybe circle back to deal with any injuries. The thug seems pretty badly injured, but no so badly that he will bleed out in the next five minutes. And if we aren't done with the assault in 5 minutes something has gone badly wrong.

Switching over to the new version.

Edit: @uju32 has a point about triangulation

Tattoo parlor with three rooms: Bathroom, backroom, mainroom. We're in the mainroom, and every thrall is down.
We've taken out 4 of 6. The remaining 2 are either
1)Underground
2)In the bathroom
3)In the back room/storeroom
4)Gone out

We can only personally check 2 of 4 options.
Or we can stop and ask our prisoners where they are. Quicker and safer than searching blind.
Gard and Michael can check the bathroom while we ask, and the store room while we administer first aid.

Sounds like whoever offs old Nick is going to do a vast amount of damage to Denarian cohesion...and piss off Anduriel enough to break rules over.
you know from what we've seen the denarians well at least nicky might have greater plans than just evil from what we saw. Sure everything we've seen has been from an outside perspective very evil I'm unsure it doesn't have a greater purpose as far as nicky thinks what with what we saw in skin games.

You do not stop in the middle of clearing a building. That is such a bad idea.
We have preexisting data of 6 thralls. We have downed 4. We dont know where the other two are.
Of their potential locations, only half can be checked immediately, and neither of them requires Molly's personal presence to do so

The idea that we must continue to sweep blind has no actual logical argument behind it.
And the argument that seriously injured people do not deserve mercy ignores the fact that our PC was raised Catholic by a genuinely Good man, and exists in a universe where OG God is a thing.

And that she herself was the beneficiary of the mercy of others.

[X]Write-In: Stabilize bleeding thrall as Gard and Michael secure the rest of the store, then move towards Undertown entrance. Use Tool Constructs if necessary.
-[X]Have Clippy call Emergency Services when we're at Undertown Entrance. Use caller-ID spoofing online, like swatters use.
-[X]STUNT: "One minute." you say. Catching your father's eyes, then Gard's, you point at your eyes, then motion your hand towards the bathroom door and backroom door. No names. As Clippy begins, unprompted, to whisper trauma response protocols, you kneel beside the handcuffed rifleman, the one who had surrendered, and begin to tear his shirt into makeshift bandages for his friend. Limned in the flickering green fire of your anima, you look into his wide eyes and talk in a low voice. "I want to know where the other two are. And if there is anything you think I should know about your boss or this situation, now is the time to tell me. Before I get mad"
[X] Have Clipy send out a call when you are at the Undertown entrance, there are still at least two more thralls in the shop besides
[X] Break out the burning pitch and tar. It's time to operate. :V
[X] Tell the captured men elevate their wounded comrade's legs and to put pressure on the wound as we rush to engage the remaining men in the shop. That's what you've seen on TV, and it seems like decent advice in this instance.
-[X] Once Cindy is secure, we'll have Clippy contact 911.
[X] Attempt to provide some immediate first aid to stabilize the guy at risk of dying, using tool transcending constructs if necessary
-[X] If successful at keeping him alive, instruct the others to elevate his legs and keep an eye on his injuries. Call an ambulance only after we've left with Cindy
-[X] If unsuccessful, have the other minions elevate his legs, put pressure on his wound, and call for help as the assault team enters the undercity
-[X] I'm either case, when making that call have Clippy reach out to Burny and instruct him to do it for us.

So just to be clear, is the stuff from my stunt actually supported by the system?

I was going off stuff in the thread suggesting we could use the tool charm for this, and that we could roll for stabilization without investment in the skill, but I'm also seeing some back and forth on that.

Surrendering the momentum and the initiative is a terrible idea here, when the minions can trigger the alarm to kill Cindy.

You're gone all in on the rescue. You have to succeed

It is to the best of my understanding.
Hence my stunt.

No TTC only effects craft, tech, and computers rolls.
what alarm to kill cindy the ghouls explicitly can't enter the ward?
At a bare minimum all of the guards will have a remote trigger.

They don't have those though. She's not exactly sleeping on a brick of C4, and there aren't any people in the room with her. Someone would need to go down there to get her.

They could trigger an alarm to alert Kat, but we emp'd the building and cut the phone lines to prevent that.
