Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

We do definitely want the training charm, sadly it makes the mortal a creature of darkness. And until we determine what exactly can call down the US wrath it to dangerous for familiy members to benefit from.

He's eleven.

[X] Because I'm not ready for the weight of being a teacher. And you're eleven. When you're eighteen and if you still want to; we'll go talk to mom and dad.

So lets pass the buck for next seven years and worry about it then.

There's zero chance we get to seven years even 1 year in quest time would Be a pretty big accomplishment.

And that is when Usum decides to chine in with. "A cult would be an excellent way to supplement the harvesting of essence as well as gain willing hands for your plans gracious princess." Thankfully you have been getting used to these little 'revelations' and don't show it in your face
It's a real pity that Usum's suggestions are isolated to Molly.

Michael's reactions to them would be great.

Would he ask their parents when he's 18?

Edit: Since if I understand it right, that's gonna be a blanket rejection. 0% chance if we ask parents.

[X] You need to speak with dad about it. Something for self defense and fitness wouldn't be out of place, but they will not ever deliberately seek out danger. And if you catch a whiff of them trying to be superheroes or something you'll be very creative in your punishment.

There's at least one example of such type of scrying, namely Nicodemius's angel being capable of listening through shadows.
Angels break the rules.
Or rather, angels can break the rules. Thats why the good ones are so scrupulous about following them, and why the Fallen ones are so constrained.

Nicodemus in particular is a GMPC.
He has an artifact that makes him a true immortal, he doesnt need a warform to access the power other Denarians do, etc
What he is capable of isnt really indicative of what everyone else is.

[X] Because I can't teach what I now am

which is technically true, even if she could teach some things

[X] Maybe you could do something for him eventually

Your mother insists on disinfecting all the bullet wounds even though you tell her that you can't get an infection. So OK, 'can't' might be a bit of an overstatement. An infection would not inconvenience you in any material way. The way Usum puts it you are still human enough to suffer all the ailments of mankind only where others might suffer lasting harm the power within you rejects any disharmony of the flesh.
Hmm. Non-supernatural diseases can weaken the Exalted, but not kill them.
Okay, so we need to buy dots of either Alchemy Path or Healing Path, just in case.
Maybe both.

Or find a proper Medicine charm.
Leetch looks speechless... but not for long. "Who cares? Some of us have a working imagination you know. She could make synthetic diamonds, sapphires emeralds, she could make gold from lead as long as her power will also conjure up radiation shielding. Like you can do that in a lab with radioactive decay. That isn't 'a utility power', this isn't a video game!" Her voice rises so much on the last words Daniel has to shush her.
Clever girl. I didnt even consider nucleosynthesis as a plan for making money.
Just find somewhere isolated away from people, either in the wilderness or inside her personal Hell, and transmute lead or mercury to gold or platinum, and fence it on the open market. Precious metals are always fungible.

2006 prices for gold are around $20,000 a kilo; platinum is roughly $35,000 a kilo.
Thats almost half to a third of modern prices, but still enough that transmuting 1-2 tons of raw material to gold would give you a yearly income in excess of twenty million dollars.

If she uses her power to make it into coins or bars it looks even more legit.
Do transmutation of a ton of material and we solve most of our short to medium term financial problems. No lottery necessary.
We owe Leech something nice for her birthday.

Leech is 11.
Mathew is 13/14.
Daniel is 16.

[X] Tell him to get dads permission, then we'll talk.
-[X] What you teach doesn't need to be something relating to combat. "Utility" knowledge is something you could teach relatively safely without putting temptation of going out to fight in front of them.

Look, exalted teaching is broken. Completely broken. I mean, we don't have Tiger Warrior training or Legendary Scholar's Curriculum which could make someone a complete polymath at beyond PhD level in, like, a semester tops (far less, actually), but we could teach them. They want to help? Fine. Teach them computer science and economy and politics and science and literature. They don't need to expose themselves to danger.

Matthew is 16 and thus not exactly incapable of helping.
Sorry, Matthew is 13, Daniel was the nearly-adult one.

But without being a trained practitioner, a Bakemono with a lucky draw of powers and a very lucky draw on drawbacks, or maybe a Shih he is not ready for our niveau, even if we did take the training-charm for his sake.

[X] Refuse that's crazy, yes even then Usum
-[X] A regular human in my place today would be dead now. Not maybe dead, certainly dead. We took enough damage to kill a mortal. Even a well-trained human with a few powers through demonic possession might very well be dead. And these were not particularly dangerous foes compared to what's out there.

In fairness I think those other than angels have bullshit abilities like that mab definitely has some level of intellectus honestly she might even just get all things in air and darkness to a degree (like when pertaining to anything under her personal perview like fae or even just said elements themselves) seeing with her just knowing and able to fuck with dresdens corpse.

With our training Charm they could at least be master-thiefs, or occultists.
Academics or Computers are not available.
At the end of seven days of training, all students gain 30 experience points to spend raising their Physical Attributes, Manipulation, and Alertness, Brawl, Intimidation, Larceny, Melee, or Occult Abilities

If Mab had Intellectus, Nemesis would have never gotten to Maeve.
Same with Titania and Aurora.

By the way we've all accepted by the time next dresden book comes out and who knows how long this quest will contradict canon we've then learned right? I know some dresden books will go far more into how mantles work, gods, some book with dragons, etc etc.

Edit: intellectus obviously never covered Nemesis though.
