Beyond the cosmological sense I mean.

I have my own feelings about Exalteds demons, but I am curious.

Okay, if the Usum thing is that much of a pivot point, I'll squeeze some points out over there.

The question is, if I do this, am I even going to get people moving over to that plan? Or are they going to move to some other pivot point?

Would you call all demons inherently evil?

Because Bronze Tongue jumping straight to "evil demon vizier" made me wonder how much people actually know about demons from exalted.

No pressure to awnser.

Depends on the plan. There were a number of other things I disliked about your plan, Sorcery among them but if it looks good then I may vote the revised plan.

If she refuses, that's valuable information. If she doesn't know that's even more valuable information. We don't need a step by step guide so much as enough information to piece things together.

yes ,but why would we need to go through all that if we have a an advisor who considering is origins is likely to know a lot more than lash does about this subject ,and who is fiat backed to be loyal to us ?

I think that evil is too broad a range of potential behaviors to say that everything everyone calls 'demon' is necessarily evil. I mean look at the number of helpful demons in Journey to the West. Demon does not have to mean Fallen Angel. Even when it comes to Fallen Angels... remember Lash, I mean sure she was not the main seat of the Fallen's consciousness, but that is where she came from, in Exalted terms you would call her a component soul of Lasciel that went rogue.

Even her going Rogue probably reflects some serious inner turmoil on Lasciels part.

Usum will die if we die, and cant be permanently separated from us. He cant be separated from us at all unless we become a devil Tiger.

Hes got everything riding on us, so he will want to help us as much as he possibly can.

Comparing some Denarians to him is... No. Not at all the same.

There is also the fact that "demon" in Exalted has vastly different base connotations than most religions.

What does it mean to be called a demon? It is a political label of the 3rd Circle sub-souls of the Primordials who lost and got hit with the Surrender Oaths. That's all. 3rd Circles are entire species.

The 3rd Circles of Primordials who were on the winning side are called Daevas but are basically identical sans the possible aftereffects their originator's vast metaphysical mutilation. Which aren't stuff like "becomes evil".

They are usually just alien.
 
Usum's best means of survival is basically following our every whim like a loyal sycophant and hopes that he doesn't outgrow his usefulness.

If we die, he dies. But if he dies, then it doesn't matter for squat. It is imperative that he must help us in every way he can.

Plus, Exalted demons are not all evil. In fact, you would have a better chance of counting which one's genuinely evil since there are so few of them.

The term "Demon" is not a religious connotation in Exalted, but a political one. It is a title the Sun pronounces on all things he finds "yucky" rather than morally or fundamentally evil.

Also there are so many uses of him:
-One free and continuously toggleable Demonic Aspect
-A free Occult specialty on Hell (Mountains of Treasures, Magical Artifact and Spells)
-Two bonus dice to all social interaction with evil spirits
-Reduce all awareness difficulty by two
-And a +2 modifier to Initiative

His usefulness are many and his disadvantages are none (he can't even order us to do anything, he is the menial and we are his master).

The "gods" of exalted are nicer as a whole, but they still view and treat human beings as cattle. And they are probably only that kind because The Unconquered Sun makes them be.

If the gods of the dresdenverse are nicer?

The white god from dresden seems to nominally care about human wellbeing. Denarians aside.

Not cattle (the ones that view humans as cattle are the Primordials), business relations.

Man prays to the Celestial Bureaucracy, Celestial Bureaucracy contacts the Exalted of the mortal's plight, Exalted make new laws to make sure the mortals are well taken care of.

The gods are more similar to humans than they would like to admit, they have weakness, fear and hopes. They are office workers, not slave masters.

The White God specifically cares about the free will of the Denarians and sees their death at the hands of the Knights as a last resort, not the first. Their preferred strategy is to convince the bearers to give up the coins... something that comes up and annoys the hell out of Harry when it comes to one fellow who just shrugs and gives up his coin in spite of being unrepentant just so he can walk away.

That's probably the ideal, I havent gotten the impression that gods live up to that very well.

Though I suppose as an exalted player you wouldnt interact with "Wind Grass Faith" god of that particular field who just quietly does their job and vibes all that often.

...I think slavery pretty common in Yu shan?

Albeit "being a slave in heaven" and all that.
 
There are a lot of Demons that only wants to just live without being bullied by the higher Circle Citizens.

Neomah only wanted to craft flesh in the most painless way possible, to express the beauty of the flesh and to bring a successful childbirth.

Angylkae are demons who only wanted to sing and harp to the pleasure of others and therefore of themselves, because if they don't they'll die.

Aalu are hell's scribe and office workers who only want a sedate life unbothered by malady.

And the same goes for Usum, he wants to live and be happy. He's not just some evil "Demon". The fact that he's also useful by manyfold is a net bonus.

Ok, there hasn't been a vote in a while and it has been more than 24 hours. Demon Empress speaks it is, you are not quite as ungodly scary as Angel... but then again you are not quite as scary as Angel to mortals so you guys can still do the YA thing. Also Moly's baby brother will not scream from her nearness so that is a plus.
