But the tech would be gamechangers
I don't think so. Star Wars is a fairly advanced Univers with a long history of military technologies that came and went long ago. The best example is the beloved Railgun that comes up after every second Update in the old threat. Whatever you think, if it isn't widely used as a known technology, what is the reason for that? The answer: it is easily counterable.
A technology is a gamechanger if it is used in such numbers that it actually has an impact on a conflict. If just one planet uses it, it's a local special but nothing more. To make it a gamechanger you would need to have the Republic buy them. Which in turn means they actually need a reason to buy it, and just that it is good isn't a reason for a state military to buy anything.
I always look, as the QM, at the bigger picture when you guys come up with ideas or concepts you wish to import into the SW galaxy. I have a checklist to see how useful it would be:
1. Has it anything smilar in the EU/Disney Canon?
- 1 A. Is it relevant at the time the Quest takes place?
2. How much does it cost?
- 2 A. Would a Nation / Organisation / Company be ready to pay it?
- 2B. Does it have a cheaper alternative already in use and on the market?
3. How much of the needed technologies need to be first "discovered" or researched?
4. Is there a niche that the ship would fill?
EDIT: Please don't see this as a discouragement, just remember that everything is to a certain degree simulated or falls under the rule of the narrative.
EDIT 2: I don't know every universe, so it helps if I get a description why the ship is special compared to others in the Star Wars galaxy. Links to wiki articles also help.
