Guys, I don't think there's going to be any reward for trying to store the giant corpse. There's limits to the size of what we can store in our own ring, and probably that would apply to Zhuan Kun's as well.
More importantly, choices matter. If we all choose to go, then we're not going to get anything from the Mole, but on the other hand we'll have more people on hand to fight whatever killed it. If we choose to leave someone behind, then we get mole parts but have less to fight. If we all choose to stay, then whatever it is probably just gets away. I don't really see much chance that we're going to get around the costs of choosing a path.
@Vesvius, I have a question. The Cavern Bringer is a pest, right? Then why is Mei so interested in finding its killer? I can understand why Zhuan would, since its a strong opponent, but why Mei?
You could find pills, or perhaps locate a Natural Wonder, or… smoke anam has to occur naturally, right? Your cycling technique may not be designed to draw anam when it doesn't come from the strong sources of Treasures or Wonders, but if you could a strong enough source, you could surely harness it
Not a moment too soon, either. As you stand, you find yourself rising to meet the dawn. Zhuan Kun is tucking away a truly outlandish number of game pieces and scraps of parchment- are those charts?!- while at the same time, Mei Daiyu is tucking a drowsing owlet into a small pouch and tying it to her belt sash. It appears that it's time to start the day's travel.
There's a solid chance whatever killed it will also kill a bunch of people, and Mei Daiyu is the kind of person who won't accept that. The Cavern Bringer is a pest, right? Then why is Mei so interested in finding its killer? I can understand why Zhuan would, since its a strong opponent, but why Mei?

A Vestige, though? Well, the lower-end ones are mostly mindless and will attack any prey in front of them to sate their Hunger. I could absolutely see one leaving the corpse of the mole to hunt down a bunch of still living farmers instead, and it's not liable to stop until someone puts it down. Might as well be us, and it probably has more powerful mats than the mole does given that it managed to kill the thing.
If it's a Vestige from one of the Ying Clan and they mainly use wood and earth, the Vestige could have use some kind of root based attack to deal the thousand stabs.
I suppose the clan would be responsible to deal with the spirit beast if no one from the sect shows up.
