How old is Severin? This is the same Severin that's a Marshal right? Or a different one?
That Depends:

Denis Martian Severin is 30 and is a Marshal of France, one of the leading infantry experts in the Army, and one of Napoleons (and our own) greatest battlefield commanders.

Charles Severin is Denis' Son and he is 13, he was a drummer boy and has been following his father and being an infantryman, and rifleman, and a lot of other jobs during the campaigns to pick up the soldiering trade.

Ah

I was worried for a moment he was talking about Denis lmao, that's what you get for sleep reading ig

I'm fully on board with either of the other two but for sure not the Archduchess, lets not encourage the blasted royalists (or the hated Austrians)

Also: Louis is now in a romantic anime comedy.

I have now reached the pinicle of writing… it's all downhill from here.

Also that might get some of the royalist to take the hint. A commoner cannot be queen after all.
We say as Empress of France and adoptive mother of the previous' monarch's kids having been born a commoner. They might decide to try and say "look, Prince Louis is showing his pride in France for pursuinga relationship with his fellow compariat in arms! Plus, it is not French to seek romantic true love, for see all those romantic novels over the centuries about wanting true love!" as a 'necessary' sacrifice to get him on the throne.

The fact that any plan has a fatal flaw of him not wanting a giant bling hat is one they will try to ignore.

Louis's Royal ancestors, for several centuries, at least, were well known to marry foreign royalty for politics and get several mistresses (or minions for those so inclined) on the side, very publicly (let's not even get into Henry IV who is nowadays said to be an ancestor of the whole city (Nerac) in which he had his court for some time, as a prince).

SO marrying a french woman for Love is a distinct signal he does not want the Crown.

[X] "...in days long gone, the Greeks of old believed that love came in four forms. The first, that many are fortunate to be born into is that shared between family, storge, I believe they called it, and greatly enhanced by the shared values between them [family]. The second, is one we forge throughout our lives and oftentimes had the potential to be named the 'strongest form of love'; as Frenchmen, we know this one best, for this the rallying cry of Revolution, philia. The third, that which is best known to us in the passions of our youths, and that which I suspect you are only just beginning to be acquainted with, is eros, the passionate love that comes in many a form, from the flames of lust that blind even the best of us from certain truths to the passions that help create the generations that follow. The fourth, that which we all strive for, is agape, the highest form of charity that is unconditional love of those of good conscience and faith unfeigned, that which builds a moral society and the foundation of all civilizations. You are a young man yet still, many a decade of experiences ahead of you, and that the fact of the matter is that asking these questions now shows to me a wisdom that escapes many of your peers; as consequence, I shared with you a sliver of wisdom of those who've come before, not of a desire to plot a course for what you should do but help you survey a path you choose, wherever that leads you. Louis, whatever that choice is and even if I should never come to know why, understand that I trust you, that I believe you are partaking in the Human experience. Whether you choose cherish the love between friends, lovers or even the distant dream of a future family, understand I am by your side, as I have always been since you have entered my life, my family."

Eh...remember that Therese has no formal education. I find it unlikely she would know about that.

While him pursuing the Archduchess is cute and all... There is exactly one archduchy in Europe : Austria.

So... She most likely is a grandchild of Maria Theresa and Francis I. Making her a first cousin of Louis.

Edit : it's not the end of the world by European royalty standards, but that + the Habsburgs...

[X] "Well, ultimately, only you can choose who you wish to be with. What I will ask you to consider is this; what is it that draws your heart to each of them? Of two, you have spoken much on mutual rescues and fighting as comrades in arms. As commendable as that sounds and marks them as boon companions to you, for a romance to truly last and blossom there must be something beyond it. You spoke on this Marie Anne, of how she seemed to be able to read deeper into your words, your actions, and make you feel truly understood. Moreso than among your fellow soldiers, moreso than even to myself? I'll not tell you which course to chart for something so precious as your heart, but I will advise that you think on whether you can find such elements present in Gabriella or Charles, and proceed from there."

[X]: Your heart must flow wherever it will take it, and no matter what, I shall support you in this. I must warn you however, were you to court an Archduchess Austria would surely seek to use it to influence you or bring you into politics. If you believe that that is who you love then of course I will support you in it, but I would encourage you to pursue your passions for your fellow soldiers first

I'm 100% open to suggestions to make it sound nicer, just need an alternate vote to the one recommending the blasted archduchess

Please can y'all not vote for the one person who's a terrible, terrible idea, and also the least compelling of the three possibilities

We will get Austrain infiltrators

Hell, I wouldn't be suprised if SHE is an Austrian infiltrator

Stop supporting her candidacy please

Nay, I think she is the best of the lot.

Nay, I think she is the best of the lot.
But Ney dosent have a daughter yet…

And all of Louis relationships will have their own benefits and problems.

And not all of them may be apparent.
Where's Robespierre when you need him. Fucking monarchs
Where is the edit button for the numerous double posts you have done my friend?

That is the real question.

The only one allowed to double post here is me, and that is usually because I have updates to post.
