I mean we could, but then we might make a lot of enemies.I never said she was powerless, but this is Empress Thérèse now in the very heart of the country after she and her husband managed to peacefully reunite France. Thérèse is hardly powerless either. And the point of meeting is that Madam Elisabeth has power, that we cannot afford to ignore the nobility anymore. (And maybe, just maybe winning her over and help us out.)
Except that Louis, at this moment in time, is happy and content being a sniper in the Army.Yeah neglecting Louis had bad consequences the first time, let's not do it again
Oh no, then they might try to invade...which they are already trying to doI mean we could, but then we might make a lot of enemies.
And winning them over? Eh I'm not saying it's going to be hard... but I won't be easy either. I just hope your ready to compromise the beliefs in the revolution to make that happen.
My dude, meeting with Madam Elisabeth was literally the point of the plan. I called it Family and Adopted Family for a reasonYeah, actually, @Sivantic, could you change the Talk to Madame Elisabeth-Action to something else? I would like to do that only with Louis in Paris so he can give his Input on anything to do with the Royalists.
Hm. Fair enough, I guess. Let's hope it all works out then.My dude, meeting with Madam Elisabeth was literally the point of the plan. I called it Family and Adopted Family for a reason
We are hardly going to hand the kids over or install them on the throne just because she asked.
Now I'm not saying that getting married to the most powerful man in France says something about our own ambitions?... but it will be looked at with very interesting glasses in the future.Considering we took over France by force and installed ourselves as Emperor and Empress, I say the beliefs have already been compromised![]()
Well, not saying that we are in dire need of a shake up, but because there have not been full on purges like IOTL, we'll need to play politics. And winning them over? Winning some of them over? Yeah. Winning them all over? Goodness gracious no. I have no illusion that the days of landed aristocracy is dying no matter how big they tantrum, but they still have the power to be a pain in the butt for a long time. If we want to keep the peace, an effort must be made to at least make some friends here and there.
Well the good thing is, Many of the Republicans who are still alive can be our political allies and see the REvolution continued, even if Napoleon goes Authoritarian. But more seriously, we should just look to see who is willing to work with us now that the guy beheading everyone is no longer in charge rather than try to compromise our beliefs.
Well, I know what to do with the nobility of Europe...And anyway, this is all moving the goal posts, the vote is whether to meet with Madam Elisabeth, and we only have guesses as to what she wants. Not about what to do with the Nobility of Europe.
One doesn't exclude the other. If we find out who picked him up when catching him and it WAS an Enemy of France, we can still use that to discredit him.Decent plan. lots of studying skills which is good. Not sure about burning 2 actions on Robe. I would have just discredited him, hunting him down might be satisfying but if he got picked up by an enemy of France, him proving he is a traitor would be very helpful in discrediting him and his ideas.
Marx will never be born. You know, I wonder how historians like Marx are going to see this when it all plays out?
I'm asking it as a question to sate my curiosity and wonder what you all would think, because my ideas on the subject are rather... intriguing, but also kinda... radical.
He will not. Glad we agree.I'm asking it as a question to sate my curiosity.
By that Virtue, Abe Lincoln won't be born.
The only reason I use Marx as an example, instead of say, a more focused political historiographer and historian and political historians like François Mignet (who actually studied and tried to understand the French Revolution and its causes, and I believe came to a far better conclusion then Marx) because... well for better or for worse, he's one of the people who expanded many of the political thoughts of the Revolution, (Conspiracy of Equals) and formed the ideas that created communism along with Engels.
Lets me say this. It will open up more options in the future, or make an influence action, cheaper.A question:
We are already at max influence with Napoleon (1000/1000) so what happens if/when we chose an option which gains us more influence (like letting him decide who to replace us as head of army)? are the points banked for the future or lost?
