New Good Seed and Omake Rule Updates
Good Seed and Omake Spreadsheet Rules:

Firstly, if you have questions about Good Seeds and the like please read here. If that doesn't answer your question please ping me in thread, or on Discord.

If you write a new Good Seed, or write an omake, please update the spreadsheet if you have access.

If you do not have access, please ping a collaborator (Swordomatic, Alectai, Quest, TehChron, Insane-Not-Crazy, Humbaba, ReaderOfFate, Kaboomatic, no., BungieONI) letting them know what you want and they will update the spreadsheet here. To gain access, you will need a gmail account of some kind. Throwaway emails are fine (I'm using one for the spreadsheet), but to gain access it's as simple as sending me either your email via PM, via DM in Discord, or just in Discord's #spreadsheet-requests channel.

This is mandatory. If a Good Seed does not record their omake by pinging collabs (or just requesting access and editing things themselves - this is the preferred option), I won't give out awards. If a new Good Seed is not recorded here, they won't advance. By doing this it makes the whole thing manageable for me - it's gotten pretty unwieldy!

Omake Writer Instructions:

There are four fields you need to fill out.

Omake Link, which is just a link to your first omake for the turn. This makes it easier for me to read them as I do the update - without this it's tough to know off the bat which omake were written this turn, and to properly

Requested Bonus, which is your requested bonus for your omake. You can leave it up to me if you like. You can see more info in the Good Seed infopost here.

Cultivation Aims. For those following unorthodox paths - higher than 9th Heavenstage or later than 7th Dao Pillar paths. Please put in what you are aiming for before you break through. I have left it as 'default'. If you do not edit it, I'll go with that.

Turn Notes - Do you want to do something specific? Enter a Secret Realm? Help the Clan out in some way? If you have something specific you want to accomplish on this turn, put it in turn notes so I can adjust your Fate around it.

All other fields are for QM use to record character information to properly run the flow of the game.

I would also like to highlight that "Sever the Bright Strands of Fate" states "With the severance of Fate the chosen foe would cease to exist, both in the future and to some degree the past".

This means that we can re-write history by erasing / undoing (to some degree) the past actions and influence of the Nascent Soul we erase. If Old Cannibal or Old Jingshen "never existed in the past", then they couldn't have built up their clans or opposed the Bronze Devils in the past and the erasure of their actions would ripple down the timeline to make the Bronze Devils that much stronger and more prosperous in the present.

It doesn't go that far back, the implication seems to be that it eliminates whatever they did leading up to the point where they just stopped existing.

So it cancels contingencies and any last ditch "Fuck you" devices, but it doesn't retroactively remove their influence on history.

Honestly, going for the 'Sever Fate' killing blow option seems like overcomplicating matters and trying to be too smart for our own good. Our strategy has generally hinged on slowly building up and leveraging strategic gains over risky gambits. Killing another Nascent requires us to follow-up the initial blow with some measure of commitment which restricts our flexibility and risks blowback if we fail to make it stick.

For example, killing Old Jingshen forces us to conquer their lands, but the Righteous Powers might still intervene if we don't finish it fast enough to make it a fait accompli. Even if we successfully pull it off, we'd still be horribly overstretched until we get more Nascents, which still depend on luck and rolls.
Using it on Old Cannibal would require preparation beforehand. Using it on the Saber Palace doesn't make any sense, because we can't wipe them out so they'd just rebuild with support from the Righteous Powers and erase all the goodwill we've earned so far, perhaps even provoking another Coalition against the Clan.

Trying to use it as a bargaining tool wouldn't work because the Clan doesn't hold the required position to negotiate with such capabilities. It's supposed to be a trump card so revealing it is counter-intuitive.

Getting a 2nd Nascent Soul is the superior option in terms of opportunity costs:
+ We don't have to replace a Core Elder if they fail their tribulation.
+ We gain +1 Action per turn from another Nascent.
+ We immediately defang Jingshen's win condition.
+ We maintain the flexibility for overall strategic planning.

This was the main reason for Manuel doing an Economic Action this Turn, seeking out Nascent Treasures to boost the chance of one of our Elders ascending. Don't lose sight of the prize.

If we retroactively killed off the Wei Princess, not only would Ma, Gemstone and Bell be unable to link up, the four Nascent Souls harrying Gemstone be more successful, and the RP be unable to make the push they made last turn, but Altar Lord would be the most powerful Nascent in the area. He'd likely win the war, and we'd be able to stop worrying about getting coalitioned.

At the moment, we're not going to have the doomclock run out in the next six decades, and Manuel, Yao and the Cores can beat Jiao and Old Jingshen if a coalition stopped being an option. It would be a total board reset.

Still on phone, but I'm actually pretty tempted by the assassin option. Casia is reasonably close and we've got breathing space provided by the war in the plains.

Combindd with our very good trial results we're in a very good position to prosecute an offensive against the Jingshen of old Jingshen vanishes. Present it as a fait accomplish erode the rest of the righteous path can intervene and we'll own the whole desert. At that point the rest are unlikely to try anything that could unseat us in the medium term.

As long as we only have 1 Nascent soul all increasing our wealth and territory further will do is make is a more appealing target to our neighbours. We simply do not have the long term power to adequately defend ourselves. The only thing that will fix this is more nascent souls.

> We commit to invading Jingshen with only 1 Nascent currently.
> Casia gets unlucky and fails her tribulation roll. Other candidates won't be ready to ascend quickly enough.
> Become an incredibly juicy target to everyone who sees our relative vulnerability.
> Righteous Powers send more than 1 Nascent to punish our greed.

[ ] Sever the Bright Strands of Fate
Assuming Bhrigu will not go Soul Severing on us when he next arrives, this will serve as the fitting fuck you for doing the same to our old leader.

Old Cannibal getting deleted would also shatter his three-Nascent group and reduce the dangers of the Devil Bees.

Jingshen is actually the least useful target of those immediately apparent.

Second Nascent Soul. Nice.

So does it mean that Manuel (at least him) will be able to use this knowledge to step onto the Path of Unbounded Growth?

[ ] Sever the Bright Strands of Fate

Absoluteness. All things in the world were connected by Fate, all things moved and chided towards their proper end. Space and time rippled as they gave way to the will of the other. The burning one. The first droplet would sever the future of any of similar power to the user. A single blow that no ordinary treasure, no great technique, nothing could deny. With the severance of Fate the chosen foe would cease to exist, both in the future and to some degree the past.

[ ] Blind the Eyes of the Wrathful Watchman

To advance was a difficulty. To advance between the stages linked by time and delineated by power was to oppose the other. The hateful thing. It didn't hate, couldn't hate, felt no emotion. Yet it hated the other. Hated it enough to give this to the strand. A strandless one could be hidden, to rise up to the stage of the strand. It needed helpers, and it could raise one weakling up to stand with the terribly weak thing that supported it. Two of the same strength was better than one, no matter how weak.
Would like to point out some interesting tidbits. The first two blurbs mention two different things called "the other."
We can extrapolate that the 'hateful thing' described in Wrathful Watchman is referring to Heaven since it's the system that sends out tribulations. But more interesting is the other from Sever Fate, which is called 'the burning one'. A concept/system like Heaven that's powerful enough to oppose causality/fate.

Also to clarify some confusion, the 2nd guaranteed Nascent will NOT automatically gain the Dao of Darkness. This update is portrayed from the Heaven's Shadow POV, which is currently linked to Manuel.
When it says 'a strandless one could be hidden, to rise up to the stage of the strand (Manuel)', it only raises their cultivation realm but does not replace their Dao.

Even assuming it'd work, we'd then have the problem of the Demonic Alliance going on the rampage and slaughtering untold millions.

Anyway, I'm going to take a minute to see how the Mission Layout is going--remember! For best effect, we ideally want a balance of people going to each Mission, unless people are trying to Aid the Clan!

Thousand Song Siege
Qi Condensation: Abel Angelus, Maria, The Builder,
Foundation Establishment: Rina Callista, Zeno Angelus EDIT: Aliki Floros (AtC) SON OF EDIT: Wei Feng, Aretaphila Myia

Hong Xuan Debt
Qi Condensation: Gaius Antonius, Lipita Delphi
Foundation Establishment: Amaranth Castellanos, Antonius Emmanuel Eleanora, Demetrius Ceres, Jin Muyi, Xiyuing Ten Jiang, ,

Joie de Banditsme
Qi Condensation: Cao Wei, Ulysses
Foundation Establishment: Diomedes Cestus, Juturna Cerintha, Mildgyð Galene, Minervina Barda, Ninth Prince, Savvas Nicolidis, Xiao Yingzi

RESULTS:

Thousand Song Siege is horrifyingly undermanned for the FE bracket, Qi Condensation bracket is fairly balanced across all.

2 3 FE in TSS, 5 FE in Hong Xuan Debt, 7 FE in Joie de Banditsme.

Oh boy. This seems like it'd be a Triumph in Banditsme paid for with a Disaster in Thousand Song Siege... Then again, now that I have Rina committed with an Early Fate and a storyline drawn up for her... Hmmm...

Yeah, having Aliki go there to Do Aliki Things might be entertaining. Also nightmarish, but entertaining, I'll go for it!

SON OF EDIT: Thousand Song Siege should be okay now, up to 5 out out of 17 total FE across all missions, and Aliki is Aiding the Clan which might help push it up another point barring a continuing string of bad luck. Hong Xuan Debt probably could use 1 more FE to bring it to a successful bracket to create a 5/6/7 spread, while Joie should have good results.
I really, seriously have a problem with viewing the missions this way.

Not only does it feel metagamey to me, but the missions aren't all equal. They do different things for us, and different people may want to accomplish different tasks with their characters. For example, succeeding too much in the FE Song Empire mission would be a bad thing. We shouldn't want to re-establish the Fearless Line, because that would end the war sooner.

A Dao of Heavens Shadow being an administrator of the larger SCAs actions and networks across its various holdings seems imminently plausible

Considering that the SCA used to have Nascent souls in abundance enough to have those kinda of roles custom assigned based on their various Dao...

Yeah, I can believe that.
My understanding is that Manuel is the Administrator because he's literally the last Strand connected to Heaven's Shadow. That doesn't necessarily imply that an entire class of roles were assigned based on various Dao.

I'm just here because Second Nascent Soul is what we've been hoping for this entire time

an OHKO on any other Nascent is cool, but at the end of the day a Second Nascent feels more... reliable to me
