[X] [DOUYAN] Save the critique for the end of the challenge, unlike the other two she is performing to her best capabilities.
[X] [SATAI] Yes, you will attempt to soothe her panic.
[X] [RIOU] You will quietly point it out to her and allow her to fix the problem before it really becomes an issue.

[x] [DOUYAN] Ask her how she has calculated the size of the gemstones to fit in the final product. If she catches the hint, all is well, otherwise, it is her own fault.

I am not sure what "saving critique for the end of the challenge" is supposed to accomplish? It is straight up worse than either of the default options.

After all, what Zhi understood a priori to be the problem with her design, by the end of the challenge Douyan will as well.

Hence, it will just be Zhi coming out as smug and publicly critizing her for her mistake while giving her impression that he knew all along what was wrong and intentionally chose to not help her.

But having the expertise to "know all along what was wrong" is exactly the quality that a competent judge should have, and "intentionally choosing not to help her" is exactly what an impartial judge should do in a fair competition (since Kong Zhi is not going around helping all the other competitors too). It won't come off as "smug" either, since the whole point of having Kong Zhi judge the tournament is that he is publicly viewed as being the best charmcrafter among his year-mates, so he should be able to find points to critique in the competitors' work.

The points that you mention as a criticism are exactly the very objectives that the people who voted for "saving critique for the end of the challenge" are seeking to achieve.

Yeah, I agree with Horium. Just drop Douyan the hint and keep it in mind when judging.
If she ends up in 5th or 6th place we could just point that out and let the 7th pass instead if they could've beat Douyan. At least she'd have a better piece she can sell later.

That's what non-interfering option is for. She gets treated and gets the same professional feedback as the other 11 competitors. I can't imagine Zhi just keeping quiet about why some failed and why some passed.

So, either the write-in has no purpose, or Zhi will give a "special critique" which can easily come across as singling her out. She will not thank him for it.

Also, since Zhi will be helping other two competitors he encountered, his impartiality is not exactly stainless.

[X] [RIOU] You will call Po Yuanji to task and order him to fix his sabotage before continuing on his own work.

Po Yuanji got caught, Po Yuanji pays the cost in time from fixing his sabotage. If he doesn't like it, he shouldn't have tried sabotage straight in front of a judge.

[SATAI] A commentary? Yes, there is a lot to comment on. I see people hard at work to improve themselves and their situation, and I see that some are content and satisfied with watching the struggles of others. We all have our reasons, justified or not, and now you have the chance to show us yours.

Might be a bit late but I think that Satai could use more than soothing. Soothing her will probably just make her continue with her current work, which while technically good is probably not creative enough.

From the commision we know that her father is a street sweeper and her mother lights lamps, so she has no chance at all at getting any financial help and must work hard for whatever she gets. So I don't mind giving her a bit more inspiration or another idea.

As mentioned by others, don't want to point out the mistake and unduly influence the competition - there's nine other competitors we aren't talking to, and giving one substantive help is just putting a finger on the scales, especially since she's clearly already good. I strongly doubt Vesvius will write this in a way that is rude or insensitive, since despite his awkwardness, KZ is a pretty empathetic guy. I imagine it'll just be in the form of KZ adding some more technical critique on top of the artistic element.

Agree with quietly pointing out the sabotage. While it was pretty brazen to involve us, it wasn't actually specifically outlawed, and I'd rather not come off as inconsistent or looking to humiliate somebody.

Should you point out Song Douyan's mistake?
[X] [DOUYAN] No, you will not interfere. If she turns in a lesser project, it will simply be a learning experience.

Will you attempt to inspire Siau Satai?
[X] [SATAI] Yes, you will attempt to soothe her panic.

How should you respond to the saobatage of Ta Riou's project?

[X] [RIOU] Loudly point out something extra has fallen into her jar, and you'd hate to see anyone's work ruined by an unfortunate accident.

We're testing to see how good they are at crafting, it doesn't really matter who wins, and Douyan getting advice that she'll figure out in a few hours is about who wins instead of who's already good at it. Satai panicking isn't about crafting, it's about her freaking out, we can help with that.
Riou I feel like calling someone out when they aren't technically breaking the rules is a bit too much, but pointing it out openly shows everyone our position on it, and not calling anyone out in particular is more dramatic.
