[X]Plan Armée d'Orient
Because of the Current situation in Europe... No you do not know what the hell is going on in india.Would we know if anything absolutely crazy has happened, or is it blocked off because of the war?
I might be willing to swap out Berthier for Hoche but I don't know if that's allowed now that people voted
So whait we can take them all?You can make them all generals within your army, but for them to keep their commissions after the campaign, you will need to write up their commendations (if they gain any), and the higher-ups will need to accept it, or not accept it.
Well he and carnot came up whith it to gather really, and hooch was the first one to implement.I think you might be confusing Hoche with Carnot on the Demi-brigade thing.
Yep, quite the outstanding(ly unluck) career. He dosnt seem to me to have been the type to have tried to fight off napoleon (he was extremely dissatisfied whith the Directory by the end of his life) much more likely to have become one his marshals actually.Lazare Hoche is definitely an interesting pick. What little we know suggests he was a lot like Napoleon, and the two apparently carried a deep respect for each other, with Napoleon calling Hoche one of the finest generals France ever had, so that would be a fun thing to explore.
Also, he never got to reach his full potential because a whole lot of moments of glories of his got cut short. He just expelled the Austrians from Alsace but got thrown in prison because of Pichegru, he nearly landed in Ireland but the storm prevented him from waging what Napoleon himself believed would have been a successful campaign and the latter cut another one of his possible glories short when he signed a peace treaty with the Austrians, ending the War of the First Coalition while Hoche was in the Rhine.
But if we look at what he did manage to do, you definitely have to admit this is someone who would have rocked the country if sickness didn't manage to get him.
I've decided to not swap Berthier out anymore, if we're doing this. Severin will just have to deal.I am really against that. Berthier is The prize out of all the additional officers we can get, as far as I am concerned. The man was a genius organizer. He was not available as our Chief of Staff, but he might be the better choice in a future reorganisation.
If you really want Hoche, I would suggest to skip Dumas, much as I hate that option (and I would keep voting for the original plan, as I really want to save him). I believe we should keep Kleber.
Except that when he organized Napoleon's Grand Armee, he had already had nearly a decade of experience of being Napoleon's Chief of Staff. And while he is just competent as a field commander, we also are in need of some field commanders that know what the hell they are doing.I am really against that. Berthier is The prize out of all the additional officers we can get, as far as I am concerned. The man was a genius organizer. He was not available as our Chief of Staff, but he might be the better choice in a future reorganisation.
Meh, they are all very competent officers. there are no wrong answers. If you really want Hoche, I would suggest to skip Dumas, much as I hate that option (and I would keep voting for the original plan, as I really want to save him). I believe we should keep Kleber.
no you would only be able to take three.
Hey if I were in a foreign desert thousands of miles away from my home, I'd set up a shrine for my wife too. There's actually a funny story about Berthier setting up a literal shrine for his wife in Egypt and Napoleon taking pleasure in riling the man up by shuffling around in it.
Will we get an option to make a shrine to our husbando Napoleon??Hey if I were in a foreign desert thousands of miles away from my home, I'd set up a shrine for my wife too.
Napoleon was just being a jackass at that point and needed something to do and Berthier just happened to earn his ire.
I mean... do you want to?Will we get an option to make a shrine to our husbando Napoleon??
We'll have to see if Egypt drives us insane or not!
Time to pull a British and loot invaluable cultural artifacts, baby!I mean, as much as this quest paints this as some idiot's venture, which it was, to be fair, it was also other things. One of them being a scientific expedition, with Napoleon bringing in a lot of scientists to accompany it, the Rosetta stone, all that stuff. Problem was that as much fun as the scientists were having, no one else was happy as the cultures were so damn different, alongside the general fact of French chauvinism, which we will probably still have no matter the people we bring.
Its not like we're going to be... you know, suffering from the consequences of our actions and making enemies of entire culture groups by profiting off the chaos by taking all the cultural artifacts they have...Time to pull a British and loot invaluable cultural artifacts, baby!
Nappy was the pioneer in that type of thing, damn guy looted Italy for all it was worth to keep the French economy afloat.Time to pull a British and loot invaluable cultural artifacts, baby!
Considering that the man is at 20 wealth (in game stat) and Brian is at 15 (he isn't taking part in the loot but gets paid)Nappy was the pioneer in that type of thing, damn guy looted Italy for all it was worth to keep the French economy afloat.
What are Brian's stats now? How are his logistical skills progressing?Considering that the man is at 20 wealth (in game stat) and Brian is at 15 (he isn't taking part in the loot but gets paid)
Yeah. We need to upgrade France's wealth by 1.
I think I updated the front page not too long ago. and it will be updated again at the end of the year or the end of the Italian campaign, whichever comes first. What are Brian's stats now? How are his logistical skills progressing?
Nappy was the pioneer in that type of thing, damn guy looted Italy for all it was worth to keep the French economy afloat.
In fact looting and pillaging wouldn't really stop unless we put a stop to it.Napoleon was definitely not the pioneer on that (though he obviously did it). Other republican generals did it beforehands.
And it was used by other countries before and after (up to and including WW2)
Hell, until the time of professional armies, rights to looting was the only method how the soldiers got paid/fed.Napoleon was definitely not the pioneer on that (though he obviously did it). Other republican generals did it beforehands.
