Right, writing is exponentialy worse than before. Expected, what with previous author being replaced by Magoose and Cyberphilsipher. CP has some great ideas, but god they can't write!
This was great quest, but I'm out. Good luck everyone.

Plaus will be back, but I would rather he actually take the time off so that he can rest and heal up.

And I wrote half the updates on the quest, so way to throw me under the bus and ignore all my hard work.

but if you feel that way, well, see ya later.

Edit: @Cyberphilosipher isn't really really the one who writes the updates. He comes up with the actions, rolls dice on occasion, passes along research that he does, and likes to post memes and crazy random ideas on occassion.

I can't tell if your serious or joking at them for fun

I personally love your work, just sad that you don't finish so many of them.

Now as for the updates themselves, I'm so glad most of the training is done, this turn I would do all three trainings actions again and buy the black market cannons.
For personal I say we write letters to her brother, Napoleon, get chief of staff, and teach the kids again

He's entitled to his opinion, and frankly, I don't care about someone saying that I'm not as good alone then I was working with Plaus.

Plaus was and still is pretty damn vital to this quest, and saying that the quality has suffered because he wants to take a break for his own health is something...

Let people say what they want to say. If I have to work twice as hard as before alone to reach Plaus' quality working with me, you know damn well I will try.

I can finish them, just sometimes Plaus has far better ideas than mine, and whatever I write just gets erased and replaced with that better idea.

other times, I come up with a better idea than Plaus, and vise versa. its how we've kept the updates so good. We're constantly pushing each other to be better.

I'm talking about your other quests, I remember many quests that remain unfinished, or are they just on break?

Just a remark about the french part of the 7.2 Threadmark Percer de l'enfer is a bad translation of drill from hell since while percer is a correct translation of drilling (boring a hole) it has nothing to do with drilling(training soldiers) I would suggest instead entrainment infernal(Hellish training) as a nearish alternative that actually makes sense in french

The only thing I will say is that We may not have the pull to stop an Egyptian invasion, considering France's position internationally has become that of the super power of the day... as in, we've been fucking stomping the hell out of most everyone we've been fighting against after we got our shit together.

Got this info from Magoose on the discord where he said to share it here. So realistically, stopping the Egyptian invasion would be a fairly high DC action considering this info and I suspect that doing it officially would have a greater chance to work. Meaning I feel like we probably to either do it officially (greater chance of success or might be able to get reassigned to a different front vs potential demotion) or not at all. Unofficial would probably be a waste of slots when the personal actions are the ones that we're far more slim on.

I personally thinking we go and get the black market cannons and train artillery for certain. Lower DC and less cost is worth it here. Then we pick one of training cavalry or requisitioning extra supplies. With the final army slot either being the remainder of those two options or officially trying to discourage the Egyptian invasion.

I'm still trying to figure out where I'm at for personals.

That would be my fault since @Magoose hadn't been in a position to make it a threadmark until he got collaborator status in the thread, so I used google translate for the title when threadmarking it as a stop gap.

I couldn't say any backhanded compliments about you, because I don't really read your works. I remember updates being much better in quality, so if you have written half, ether editing slipped, or my memory is full of holes. Honestly, I won't be surprised if it's latter.

You know, the good thing with the American civil war starting early? The North will be even stronger compared to the south

But the British might smell blood in the water, and seek to regain their wayward colonies... After all, the British are still very angry about the whole... Revolution thing.

If they try, France won't be far behind in foiling them if only to frustrate the Brits. Also, if the North decides to make slavery the star issue early it places a great deal of pressure on any who support the South due the pitfall known as slavery. Any nation that tries will likely be grilled both by other nations and the abolitionists among their own people.

You here that... that is the sound... of inevitability.

I don't know... Realpolitik is a thing that one must keep in mind, especially if the resources for the industrializing nation Britain, is cut off.

They may not need American Cotton because India may be soon joining the British Empire soon, but I'll be dammed if they aren't going to enter trade deficits because of it.

It's the same as usual: men of business try to advocate for the bottom line while abolitionists continue to argue for the ethical one. If I recall William Wilberforce should be around still advocating relentlessly for abolition.

Again That depends on who wins, the men of business or the men with morals.
