The Path Unending (A Cultivation Quest)

[X] The Forge of Idealization

Ultimately, this seems like the best choice. It doesn't make our problem go away immediately, but it turns it into a lesson.

I like that symbology, I like it a great deal.

Haven't read any of the arguments, but from the descriptions these all seem appealing.
Honestly I'm jealous lmao. No stress just vibes

A recap for late bloomers unwilling to sift through increasingly personnel bickering:

The Heart of Kong
+ Secondary benefit ( deeper insight / integration) sounds seriously OP.
+ Cannot be stolen.
- Ruffles too many feathers. Were-raptor cyborg is, in the end, a bit of an overreach.

A Fractal View
+ High versatility.
+ Stable method to "craft our path forward".
- Takes attention and resources away form new charms.

The Forge of Idealization
+ Full xianxia munchkin "my foundations are better than your foundations".
+ Usable by others, providing income, connections and a good excuse to invite pretty lady friends to stay overnight.
+/- Most controversial.
+/- Do you even weld, bro?
- Unwieldy, vulnerable to sabotage.
- Likely slow to take effect, though the recovery speed of the other charms remaing vague as well.
- Personal benefits dry up over time. Potentially a very long time, though.

I also liked the Family United. Although it isn't my favorite solution to this particular problem, it would be really cool to make ourselves a charm arm to help with crafting someday.

What about turning the problem into an advantage? Like Heart or Fractal View do?
I mean, potentially In Amber Clad could help with this.

Ves said the following.
Mechanics: Cycling action can be undertaken to feed debuffs and negative physical traits into the charm. Removing traits in this manner results in physical stress. They can then choose to convert the debuffs and physical traits into a temporary positive trait.

Using this we could potentially gain any number of benefits. Buffs would allow us to potentially learn techniques or cycle better, which would be a great help currently.
As I intended the charm originally, the implication was that the power and impurity energy could be stored for later, im not sure whether or not that interpretation will be cannon though.

I'm disappointed In Amber Clad didn't get more traction. It has my favorite design, it gets rid of our problem with the most efficiency of the bunch and will provide a certain amount of healing/utility going forward. It doesn't provide direct growth benefits but it's likely all the stronger at it's intended purpose for that.

Very well, I was holding out on the exact math for the sake of no one calling me out for using mechanics, but I have been openly asked here. This goes to everyone who's reading this: Please don't attack me for doing this. I care about the narrative implications of the Forge too, and just because I listed out the crafting calcs doesn't mean I'm a cold, unfeeling person who only cares about numbers.
Why would you be attacked? They allow math in this thread.

Thanks man! I'm a bit bummed too.
I though it did the job well and I was hoping it would be seen as a more efficient option, but its not as popular as some of the other options. Time will tell if things change.
Fingers crossed eh?

Personally, I don't think that the primary difference between the top 3 choices are really the mechanics so much as the attitude they represent Kong Zhi taking with regards to Tiaoyue's Gifts.

Specifically, Heart of Kong is very much a "regardless of my outward appearance, it's the inside that counts", Fractal View is very much "If I don't like my body, I can/should change it", and Forge of Idealization is very "I only dislike these changes due to aesthetics, so as long as I can change that it's good".
