Threads Of Destiny(Eastern Fantasy, Sequel to Forge of Destiny)

Alright, so the narrative is all well and good, but since this is a "choose mechanical rewards" vote, I'd like to approach it from mechanics standpoint as well. Can someone with a better understanding of them lay out what the options mean and their pros and cons? So far I am inclined to a combination technique since that feels more like reaching the capstone than the lateral movement of altering our existent techniques, but I am not sure. Do we perhaps have arts that would become better with Zhengui's keywords?
We don't have a good understanding of what a combination attack is (I don't think we've seen any examples), but I think you're correct that that option has the higher potential ceiling: developing a combo move will be really strong in the circumstances that combo move is designed for. The other option has a lower ceiling (though it's definitely an improvement, since art alteration lets us customize arts to fit the niches we need to fill), but is also something that would affect things more frequently, and possibly have longer-term effects: if we altered an art like Winter Hearth Resounding or Starless Night's Reflection into something that was more Zhengui-ish, and we were happy with its mechanics, we could then develop a successor art based on it later down the road and take that with us through more of Green, which would tie our domain and Way closer to Zhengui. But maybe a combo attack would also have a way of maintaining relevance over time, even as specific arts and techs that were part of it get replaced? I don't know.

tl;dr: I think the mechanic breakdown is "situational super move" vs. "more reliable but smaller improvement."

[X] Because she wanted him to be happy, and she wanted to be part of that. (Tech alteration route)

[X] He was her little brother, and she wanted to work on something as equals. (Combination technique route)
I dislike the little brother bit, but i do prefer us learning to act together as we are, instead of changing who we are to fit the other.
So while i am in the "Zhengui is our Precious son" camp, this is what i will vote this time.

I just don't want to exchange themes. It reduces their individuality. Plus changing oneself for people around you is unhealthy, imo.

Note: When it comes to situational super moves, we still haven't used Zhenguis explosion tech yet. Any combo move is far less likely to be actually used.

Not really. The explosion tech requires Zhengui to be near defeat and not be around squishy allies that he doesn't want to blow up. A combo move just requires us to be fighting together, which happens fairly often.

[] He was her little brother, and she wanted to work on something as equals. (Combination technique route)

Key focus here is on recognizing his independence, and the redressing unequal nature of their current relationship. This starts to address Zhengui's issues with being tugged around everywhere, flung without control into situations. As Su Ling would put it, the Ling Qi Experience is best in small doses.

Key focus here is on understanding his perspective. This starts to address Zhengui's issues with being helped in ways he doesn't want to be helped and ignored in ways he wants attention for. Part of the problem is that Ling Qi is working blind, she doesn't understand him, she just makes assumptions based on her own perspective.

Maybe just...communicate?
