The Path Unending (A Cultivation Quest)

[X] Plan BSA and WC
-[X] Jai Shouxi's Commissions
--[X] Stagheart (8 Points. Grade 1 Wood/Earth Pill) x 3
--[X] Choir Note (4 Points. Grade 1 Sound Pill) x2
-[X] Pills and Elixirs
--[X] Woodsman's Respite (7 Points. Grade 1 Wood Pill) x4
--[X] Spider's Serum (11 Points. Grade 2 Beast Elixir)
--[X] An Evening's Rest (12 Points. Grade 1 Healing Pill. Restores 1 Physical Stress Box.) x 1
-[X] Materials
--[X] A Still Shaking Anvil (4 Points. Steel/Force Aspected. +7 to development)
--[X] A Brass Knocker. (2 Points. Force Aspected. +3 to development)
--[X] A Still Growing Sapling. (7 Points. Wood/Life Aspected. +13 to development)
--[X] An Everbloom. (3 Points. Life Aspected. +6 to development)
--[X] A bundle of fresh Ifeagrass. (1 Point. Blood Aspected. +3 to development)
--[X] Wool of a Verdant Ewe. (1 Point. Beast Aspected. +2 to development.)

So that's the pills to max BSA and level Warhound's Cry, a healing pill, and then the Anvil and Brass Knocker for Fa's axe. Left two points, so snagged some Ifeagrass and Beast wool.

Edit: Cool, so KW caught that Shouxi is only asking for half the payment up front. That saves 16 sect points, so I added 10 to buy the Life stuff for a healing pill, then held on to the last point and talent since there are a couple things we can only get with hard cash.

I'm not sure we should buying crafting supplies except for the Anvil, and the Sapling. until we are more certain of our future plans.

Anyway something occurred to me. We can turn the Sapling into a time familliar.

The QM has noted we could theoretically raise the sapling into a tree familiar. Here's a thought, what if we planted said sapling at a moment of Eternity. Would it gain time anam? Keep in mind a moment of eternity has warrior running through it as well as a source of light. A environment capable of hosting plant life.

Hopefully the sapling can shape shifts into a cat and we can name it Schrodinger.

A few crafting thoughts (as I assume you lot can sort out the Pills business):

Kong Zhi is pretty much setup as an unarmed combatant at the moment, so I wouldn't go for making a holdable weapon at the moment.
I feel like some protective gear is in order instead, so...
Combine The tattered flag of a Pirate Ship (4 Points. Wind/Water Aspected. +7 to development) with the Shell Fragment (Beast 14) and the Flowing Feathers of the Camel Turkey (Wind 4) to make some fluid movement enhancing armour. That might work well with HBD.
Cut the Shell into plates. Use strips of the Tattered Flag (and something like leather or cord for support, and silver strands for Anam flow) to create some straps. Strategically position the Flowing Feathers in an aerodynamic and elegant fashion.

That Anvil could be useful if we would like to try making something for supporting metal crafting, or even as an ingredient for making something out of metal.

The Love Letters and the Prayer Scroll are interesting rare Anam type objects, but I'm not sure how you use them in crafting.

I see a few plant ingredients there. Anyone keen to start a garden?

I sort of want to try making an eyepiece from the Vestige Ice. Adding Light Aspect is necessary, but I was hoping for something like Truth to make it more useful. Instead we have a Deception ingredient. I'm unsure if Kong Zhi can reverse the Deception component to make it remove Deceptions.
Perhaps the Wedding Ring, the Obsidian and the Ash? The Ash can be argued to link with Obsidian through volcanic connections. Ice is unlikely to be of use now though...
Ah, I know...
The Disbelievers Eye:
Reshape the Wedding Ring into a monocle rim and chain. Polish the Obsidian into a lens and set it within the rim. Etch the rim with runes of Deception and Light. Mix the Ash with some powdered Angel's Tears and fill the runes with that. Embed an extra gemstone, something either red, yellow or white into the rim. The Fire of the Ash and the Light of the Obsidian can be used to make the gemstone glow like a lantern (which is on a chain, so you don't have to hold it). Or if held up to the eye and looked through, you would see nothing. Obsidian is opaque. But the Fire of the Ash would flow into the Deception of the Wedding Ring and destroy any illusions in your way. You would not see them.

Given that nobody seems interested in the plant sapling at the moment of eternity idea, I think we should opt for crafting materials later once we have a better idea what to craft, post Deeps.

I quite like the idea honestly, but yeah, it seems a mistake to budget for/buy too many crafting materials right now. Progressing Warhound's Cry has more immediate utility, I think.

So, the pills required to max out BSA, the basis for a Force/Steel axe and materials that should be suitable for a healing charm.

Well, that was an embarassing failure at reading comprehendion on my part.
So, healing pill and mundane travelling supplies which we bought before are covered. We have an extra pill for the purpose of anam restoration, right?

I prefer leveling up WC to buying crafting materials (we can do that after the expedition) as it is of more immediate use.

Short term gain of techniques seems more important than long term crafting considering Zhi can barely use his body and is about to go into the deeps.

The only thing that would turn me is that damned bee hive. It's been there for two weeks, taunting me. I want it.

I got distracted by the materials and forgot about the action outcome.
I thought that went quite well.
Met some people, skill up on Persuade and a drive bonus for when the Assignment is likely still there next time.
Assignment Failed! 0 Points Awarded!
I think you meant "Assignment not yet Complete."
I wonder how much mundane hammers cost. I think we might need to lay out some bait for this one. A small ambient Anam collection rune powering a small Anam beacon rune should be easy enough for Kong Zhi to do.
Solving the disappearances may get a reward involving more than just Sect Points. (Or a pile of spare hammers.)

@Vesvius May I request some insight into the nature of the Bound Loveletters and the Tattered Prayer Scroll. Does the Anam reside in the paper, or in the words? What does Kong Zhi know about utilising such materials?
(Apologies if this has already been covered, I'm currently reading this adventure at the end, and at about 60% of the way through.)

Hmm looking at the Pills, I seem to be missing something with the Anam calculations required here. People seem to be buying way more Pills than my calculations suggest is needed. I count mastering BSA to require 24 Wood and 16 Earth. 6 Wood to finish Phase 3, the 2x9 for Phases 4 and 5 is 24, but people want at least 35?

As far a materials go, anything interesting may not be there later.
Kong Zhi considers himself to be a Charm Crafter and yet is only in possession of three materials. This is embarrassing.

The anam cost for advancing techniques goes up as the phases go up.

The anam cost for advancing techniques goes up as the phases go up.
Below that is the phases. This is the number of times that the technique can be cycled upon, and the number of times that an Artist can send it anam to unlock new stages and effects. So in this case, the Sun's Regard has 3 phases. After learning it by meeting its aspects (20 fire anam and 5 heavens anam), an Artist can continue to cycle and meet it's aspects once again. Once it receives a further 20 fire anam and 5 heavens anam, it's aspects will improve, giving it more power when it is utilized. Other effects can include a reduction in cost, new aspects being unlocked, or even passive effects that don't require the technique to be active to effect the world.
Damn you undocumented features!

Looks like we'll need more time to figure out who the hammer thief is. Glad we didn't end up in a fight, though; we'll need to be in tip-top shape for next week's battle.

I'm a little concerned about the dearth of healing pills in our shopping lists, though. We don't know how many licks we'll need to take down there.
