Threads Of Destiny(Eastern Fantasy, Sequel to Forge of Destiny)

Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
Moratorium is up, so:

[X] Plan: Whispering on the Wind
I'd rather get some low-stakes art modding experience under our belt.

[X] Plan: Fire and Flowers
-[X] Dexterity 3*, Intelligence 4*, Presence 4**, Qi (free rolls) 8** (22/40)
-[X] Perceptiveness 3**, Sincere Negotiator 2***, Beast Handling 4***, War 3**, Art 1*** (37/40)
-[X] Gardening: Art 1***, Woodwind 1*** (40/40)

From a narrative perspective I don't want to let Intelligence languish.

[X] Plan: Rainbows and Glitter

I think we really should be hitting that trial grind, the explore action looking for something, and try and get advanced insights before we get stuck behind them.

[X] Plan: Fire and Flowers

Edit:
[X] Plan: Working towards Goal
Also this plan because being an active member of the sect is likely going to be important at some point.

Moratorium over

[] Plan: Rainbows and Glitter

[X] Plan: Whispering on the Wind

to explain once again, the main difference one needs to remember about the two plans are that Rainbows & Glitters has Explore while Whispering on the Wind has HDW art mod

Pls vote on which one u prefer

As for skill plan

[X] Plan Rise of the Muses
-[X] 4x Dexterity* (8/40), 4x Presence** (16/40), Qi (free rolls) 8**
-[X] 3x War** (19/40), 4x Beast Handling*** (23/40), 2x Art*** (25/40), 2x Perceptiveness** (27/40)
-[X] 3x Unbroken Will* (33/40), 2x Sincere Negotiator*** (37/40)
-[X] Gardening: Art 1*** (38/40), Woodwind 1*** (40/40)

I don't mind if the other skill plan wins, but I'm voting for mine cause I made it

EDIT:
Ditching exploration

[X] Plan: Rainbows and Glitter

All things considered I am sceptical about poking about with art modding by ourselves when we know there are actually instructions on how to do it down the line. And I want to use the bloody map before we are out of the sect.

[X] Plan Rise of the Muses

More art is nice.

It's time Ling Qi got some more intelligence.

For the sake of shilling for my own skill plan

I want to get more Art xp right away, along with the benefit of getting Unbroken Will bonus over with

[X] Plan: Rainbows and Glitter
[X] Plan: Fire and Flowers

I want something for Hidden Moon

Urgh, this was a frustratingly badly written fight, with a really out of place ending and beginning.

Two main things stand out to me from it: first, it's clear that @yrsillar shouldnt give us the option to vote for tactics for how to do a fight, because it's a recurrent theme that while writing he realises he doesn't like the vote itself and does the opposite. Second, there really shouldn't be cheesy shonen finsih dialog to a fight that contradicts what actually happened in the fight.

Ling Qi acting exactly how we planned for her to act on a "full offense" plan is fine, but in that case there really shouldn't be votes, here. This isn't the first, second, or fifth time this has happened, and at this point we shouldn't be pretending to hold tactical votes.

Ji Rong talking about "can't fight alone" implies that Ling Qi didn't fight alone, and this was painful . Beside Ling Qi specifically sending Hanyi away as a 1vs1 so that she can have a 2.5vs1 instead of using superior 3.5vs2 teamwork shows that even in this fight, Ling Qi basically dismiss teamwork as much as she can get away with. This is also not a new thing but the continuation of every single fight since the beginning of the thread where Ling Qi refuses to actually do teamwork.

A scene implying Ling Qi is the expert there was really, really distasteful.

Narratively, we're probably gonna continue to help Zhengui with his Gardening.

Now yes, we're already doing that with our locked Gardening option, but it can't hurt to put more effort and AP into it for the sake of Zhengui (and Sixiang as well since she's the muse and we finally have another shared interest)

[X] Plan: Whispering on the Wind

While I flirted with the idea of spending the extra AP on more meridians, I think the learning aspect of art modding with HDW is worth doing now to see if what we find alters any plans. Also I'm meh on spending tons of points on Int.

To clarify something, [] Plan: Fire and Flowers follows this line for skill plans:
Edited by switching 2 art dice with a single woodwind die between turn 11 to turn 10, thus making both turns compliant. Note that the plan is still for a total of 6 art dice, which is hopefully enough to get C rank in the skill.

LQ didn't fight alone, though. She fought in tandem with her spirits, even when they were working at separate goals.

So... I disagree with everything that you said here. The whole spitting off was a pre planned situation and they even used qi fluctuation to communicate it. They did not do it right away but at a specific time. That's team work. Following a plan. Also the full offense plan was trying to end the fight quickly. If that was the case Ling Qi would have tried to use CtE much sooner instead of enduring the attacks until victory was assured. Also Ji Rong is a cheesy shonen fighter, why shouldn't there then be cheesy shonen dialog to round out one of his character arcs?

So, yah. I disagree with everything you say here.

Basically copying the explore plan and changing the explore action to sect duties and work towards increasing rank.

Could you explain how exactly you expected the defensive plan to go? I thought it was fine, though I don't keep as close of a track on the different techniques and options we have during battle scenes as many posters. I can understand your complaint about Hanyi, but I think it was handled well enough for the reasons other people have said. Some changes could potentially have been made, but I don't think they would have improved the battle much. It's possible that I'm not seeing defensive strategies we could have undertaken but didn't though.
