I know she used her flute for this technique, but I can't help imagining her beatboxing instead. The first technique of the march lies in laying down it's beat. A sound so deep that it is felt more than heard, this technique replicates the rumbling
For basically his entire life, LQ has been helicopter parenting Zhengui. If we don't give him a chance to learn how to work through his own problems, he's never going to really learn how. And giving Zhengui chances to learn means giving him chances to fail too, and then helping him fix his inevitable mistakes. At some point we're going to have to trust Zhengui, and I'd rather we start that now, in a relatively safe environment with his number 1 fan (Alingge) keeping an eye on him, then be forced into it in a higher stakes situation later.
Even if Zhengu screws this up, he'll live and learn from it. And if he manages to work this out on his own, which is absolutely a possible outcome, even better.
[X] Join Wang Chao in the pavilion. [Make yourself more approachable, influence Wang Chao Bond. Give Zhengui room to act on his own, for better or worse.]
In the previous thread, there were 3-ish Zhengui+friend/rival social votes that became available. We didn't vote for a single one of them. The argument that Ling Qi has hovered over Zhengui is incompatible with the reality of how she has been played. That was my point. Ling Qi has been hands-off with Zhengui as it relates to his socialization. That's the opposite of helicopter parenting.Uh what? The only time Zhengui was socializing on his own without Ling Qi there was toddling after Cui since he was born until he got to yellow or around the tournament arc when he went up the mountain to visit Hanyi. Every other time Ling Qi was there and he wasn't socialized much.
As his bonded partner, it's normally up to us to introduce him to any social groups. Leaving him to fend for himself also sends a message to the traditionalists about how highly (or not) we regard him.Uh what? I think there is a significant difference between showing care as a senior peer and showing care as a friend, here. Wang Chao is the one trying to directly win them over for his own faction, and showing care as a friend to them could be something some people here wants... but when I talk about showing care, I meant as a senior noble of Emerald Sea who shows he cares about them and their abilities, but doesn't necessarily try to win them over as personal friends. We really didn't succeed in showing care. They are scrubs who are scared of a little full contact sport, they'll more likely than not be demoralized because we kicked their asses instead of properly grateful for our help. For us to actually succeed we'll need to talk a little, send out some compliments that at least sound kind-of sincere, and maybe show that we remember their names a time or two.
It has significantly hurt him, considering a huge portion of Zhengui's character is now about proving himself worthy of Ling Qi's attention, due to Ling Qi always choosing to ignore him.Has that hurt him? Honestly he seemed to have picked up a fair number of friends while knowing that we are there to protect him if something bad happens. And there's nothing to stop him from spending time with us if he feels he wants our support.
Indeed that's basically what he says here: that we are powerful and that including him here is just humoring him. We have his confidence but he isn't sure of himself. Having a bunch of other people talk about how good he is will help put Ling Qi's earlier comments to him in a new context.
That's not true though. We constantly voted for Zhengui training last year and we often vote for his social actions, with the big awkward factor there being how Xuan Shi was getting smooshed into him. LQ spends plenty of time with him.It has significantly hurt him, considering a huge portion of Zhengui's character is now about proving himself worthy of Ling Qi's attention, due to Ling Qi always choosing to ignore him.

This is how I feel as well. I definitely do not feel we have helicoptered/smothered Zhengui.I'm not super happy about this vote, because we're here to deal with Wang Chao. But we have consistently voted against helping ZhenGui.
It's unsurprising but I can't help but think that he gets overlooked because he doesn't cause us problems. Very, "the oldest child gets ignored because all the younger siblings need more attention which leaves them without the care they also need, but they won't show that because they've been shown that their needs have to come second to the other siblings.".
I expect this vote will lose, and I think that's okay. But we really will need to start making time for Zhengui and Zhengui only.
