Any disagreements with this?

Also swiping Murat from Nappy could potentially completely change any of his future campaigns. Murat was a really good cavalry commander. And on the bright side he can cover our weaknesses in speed and pursuing enemies. Might as well make use of him. Also saying his name outloud is fun. M U R A T.

Enough, both of you! (SzechuanSauce)
Alright, I'll see if I can get a good story out of Davout and Murat arguing, with an appearance by Chamans.

Enough, both of you!

Now, Louis-Nicolas Davout was usually a very stoic man, not quick to anger or to raise his voice in rage, in fact, many found him to be quite unsociable and rude, though that didn't bother him at the slightest. Yet there was one thing that seemed capable of getting a rise from him.

"You damnable eye-sore! Your gaudy outfit burns at my eyes, and your beloved horses are eating at what little supplies we have!"

That one thing was Joachim Murat.

Ever since the prancing dandy man came to his new assignment by way of Napoleon's recommendation, him and Davout had instantly acquired an intense dislike with one other, Davout considering Murat to be an eye-sore, both literally, with his brightly-colored clothing hurting his sensitive eyes, and metaphorically, with his loud antics leading Davout to conclude he was a fool. While with Murat, he considered Davout to embody everything wrong with soldiers, unkempt, rude, demanding and a pain in the ass. It was a wonder the two hadn't killed each other yet.

"Oh Davout, perhaps if you would remove that stick up your ass and dress better, I would not have bothered you. But alas, your allergy to fashion and decency prevents that!"

Though perhaps the time for the two to kill each other was now.

At that, Davout had quickly pulled out his flintlock in rage, ready to strike down this nuisance, while Murat had down the same, both raring to kill the other.

"Enough of this! Both of you, withdraw your weapons, now!

If not for Chamans' intervention.

Chamans would feel a quick headache whenever these two got into an argument with one another, which was unfortunately a frequent phenomenon. The two seemed to find any and all excuses to argue, from serious accusations to the downright ridiculous, from arguments on supply lines to personal attacks against each other's mother, the two had practically argued about everything.

He had heard the two screaming at each other while he was in his tent, and he had quickly scurried off to the sounds of rage, hoping to be there before the army loses men of great potential like Davout or Murat, both great military figures, and he thoroughly believed, both will be integral to France.

After catching both of them in the act, Chamans demanded, "What in God's name are you two arguing about now?!"

The two explained themselves, both of them giving their explanation while never quite fully lowering their weapons. The way Chamans had understood, both of them were at fault, while Murat had been the one to rouse Davout's hidden anger, it was Davout who had escalated the argument into a near duel, and so, as a way for the two to finally stop arguing, he took the two to a nearby drinking establishment and had them discuss their love of the republic, with Chamans knowing they at least have that in common, a great love of the republic. It was that, he hoped, would get them to set aside their differences.

"You bald headed connard! I clearly love the republic more than you!"

"Nay, my love of the republic clearly surpasses yours, you gaudy, ring haired chienne!"

Or perhaps it would be a new avenue for the two to argue about.

Chamans just rubbed his head at their arguing, it seemed his latest efforts have failed. Though he would now keep track of Davout's temper, the man may be a statue most of the time, but when provoked, he was as fiery as a volcano.

He just hoped there was no one else besides Murat who could rouse such great anger from him.

Somewhere, in Jourdan's army.

"Achoo!"

"What's wrong? Did you catch a cold?"

"Nothing, General Jourdan, just a suspicion someone was talking about me." Was the response of one Jean-Baptiste Bernadotte.

Any disagreements with this?

Yes, I agree with gentle. As it stands we are in a quiet theater of war currently, so spending the time to get the highest morale troops without a desertation roll is likely worth it considering it's only a -10 to training speed.

I just disagree with the SL list. This is basically the first real time that SLs are open, right? We should use this opportunity to get to know our command staff more or to calm the kids.

[] Louis and Charlotte: The two royal children under your care. They are calmer following your promise with them, but more time spent with them could help.

[] Chamans: The head of your officer staff. He has a lot on his plate, coordinating efforts with Metz to facilitate the logistics of supporting the influx of soldiers.

[] Severin: Your religious Swedish officer. He looks eager to find some action, with the Battle of Amiens not involving his expertise as much as he would like.

[] De Lisle: Songwriter and learned officer he is, he's been helping with coordinating the logistics recently. He's been looking for musical inspiration recently, and maybe you could help?

[] Murat: The newcomer. He seems to know his way around horses and could be a great asset indeed. However, you may wish to know more about him as a person, as he is a friend of Napoleon, too?

[] Renée Dubois : A woman in the Army as well, you hadn't found the time to find and converse with her in recent times. Perhaps getting to know a woman with a military background would be good?

Renée isn't officer staff or the children and thus is too much of an opportunity cost here. De Lisle wanting musical inspiration is nice but honestly is not that potentially important compared to the others motivation wise so I think he gets let off the docket.

So Murat, Severin, Chamans, and the kids are the 4 options. Murat is for insight, the kids are reassurance, Severin seems like potentially tempering his eagerness, and Chamans is likely some helping or stress relief for him.

If we go gentle, I feel we have to go Severin to temper him since we are taking an approach that would extend the time till he gets any action and thus exacerbate what he's feeling currently. Chamans has a lot going on but De Lisle has been helping with the coordination so he has enough help that I'm not worried about him being in over his head yet.

So the question here is if we want to go Murat or the kids for the second. As it stands, just learning more about someone we're leading into battle is more important than the kids if we think we can avoid injury this time, if not, then we reassure the kids. That's the crux of the issue here and how it should be decided around.

he introduced a man by the man of Joachim Murat

I think the second man is meant to say name here?

Thoughts on the story? Any suggestions for the next one?
I liked their bickering; more of that would be cool, with them going into each other's past!
I'd say that they were mostly around each other in the North before this, and Davout is leading his own contingent to train, being reassigned by the Committee and all that. They thankfully won't be seeing much of each other in their time here, so gotta make the few moments they are together extra spicy and inflammatory!

For next omakes, I don't have a specific category, feel free to expand on relations between other (minor) characters, since the less related to the main plot (Thérèse's storyline), the more likely your omake will be canon!

I'm in favor of gentle training. Our sector should be quiet for at least 9 more months (3 turns) since that's how much longer Brunswick is honor bound to stay out of the war.

The moratorium isn't up yet?
We should be good now.
