Given we won't be leaving our family, there really doesn't seem to be any downsides to this arrangement. We get dedicated teacher, and that's about it. We can still spend time with our family and learn from them as well.

Hey beginner level chakra control before we've even entered the academy is decent. Hopefully that bonus we get will help us raise it even further whilst we are there as having good chakra control is just something everyone should aim for no matter what route you're going down.
 
Knowing the dice next turn you'll be lower than a tree sprout in winter.
 
You should roll d256 instead. :p The chance for 2x Nat crits should be 1/65536 or something.

Just to make sure, this also prevents forcible extraction while we're alive, right?

With the exception of EMS transplants (which Minato could probably add an exception for that allows extracting your eyes yourself), is there any reason the Uchiha wouldn't want such a seal themselves?

Don't the Uchiha have a power up by using another ones eye to increase their own power? If you made it so that you can;t use the deceased then I imagine it would be seen as a waste of a resource.

as i remember the only ones to have been stated to take apprentices are the sannin. And at this point in time, only Orochimaru has (with Anko). Everyone else, from the Hokage(s) to every jounin teacher (yes, that includes Gai) only had students.
Iirc Kurenai almost had one, but the whole thing fell through before it could be officialized.

an interlude is also an option. An interlude from Itachi PoV for extra uniqueless :)
