A genius with a chip on his shoulder from not only his father's death but also the pity and scorn from the Clan who would consider him useless. Depending on how archaic and traditional they are, a blight and that his very existence brings shame to the clan.

I also imagine some branch members might even think that our arms were broken on purpose to send a message. After all, how do you explain a child, who is fine for weeks, with working arms to suddenly have broken arms? Coincidentally after his father betrayed the Clan.

I have been watching some old school Godfather type films and cant get the idea of a Italian, organized crime boss Hyuga family.

Having crippled arms just means that every day is leg day, and when every day is leg day all your problems can eventually be solved by kicking them into submission.

Considering the Main family in canon is the clan leader, heir and (implied) all the Elders, i so no problem with that idea.

Because being a slave seems like a bad idea when you're already crippled in arguably the most important way for your family. I think the only thing worse would have been to be born without eyes at all (which is reasonable considering how close that roll was to a nat1 crit fail).
And Clan heir... being drowned in clan politics isn't really my idea of fun in a quest...

It's definitely different. I've never seen a fanfic pose the scenario where the Hyuuga arms are absolutely useless. Blind Hyuuga, chakra-less Hyuuga, chakra-blind hyuuga, branch family hyuuga. Actually going with something that can screw over the whole point of going Hyuuga is new.

Chakra-hand seals are probably going to be a mountain to circumvent without our arms. The arms include the hands, right? This answer isn't obvious to me.

My idea mostly consists of learning how to use Chakra Strings. Tsunade and Chiyo are about the only two that could fix us up and neither are available for quite a long time. Strings are entirely unreliant on your hands assuming you get fine enough control. Would take a long time, but mentally controlling prosthetic arms that can have badass stuff like in Berserk just sounds awesome. Imagine blasting someone with a hand cannon mid fight.

Good news is, our Byakugan is entirely unaffected. Which does reminds me.
@Magoose may I ask what our range is? I remember Neji having exceptional eyes in terms of the Byakugan, so I assume it differs from person to person.

You do not get to know that until the quest begins, and you begin training.
 
Well, seeing as Itachis generation seems to be winning mainly because as always people seem to be fangirling over Itachi as is common in Naruto stories I can only hope to convince people not to try and go for the obvious nakama route with Itachi and do our own thing.

Not to.mention being a Hyuuga so if we aren't ostracised and treated badly for being a crippled Hyuuga, befriending a Uchia should definitely see us probaly exiled or killed at some point.

Well...an armless Hyuuga prodigy is certainly a one of a kind draw😂. I don't think Gentle Fist is completely out of reach even before we work on getting new arms.(I'm personally rooting for robot arms like Asura Path's) The feet clearly have chakra points going by the tree walking/water walking exercises. The toes might be like the fingers though I doubt we'd ever get like the precision.

It'd probably be less like a scalpel and more like a meat cleaver except for chakra points. Or a meat tenderizer with our kicks, nowhere near as subtle but still potentially effective....if gruesome.

And when it comes to longer ranges even some non-handicapped ninjas didn't always use their hands when loosing weapons. Shizune has senbon in her mouth to spit at opponents and had some kind of senbon launcher strapped to her arms. Or we could go the Zabuza route to hack and slash with weapons held by our teeth. Wouldn't even affect our field of vision cause...ya'know.

Depending on how affected our hand dexterity is by our crippling we may be able to rely on traditional ninjustsu if we strap our arms together.

...until now the only times we mentioned Itachi was when someone was saying that we might go happy-murder mode on the clan if shit hits the fan because of dumb elders. Please accuse us of fangirling over Itachi when we are...well, acting like a fangirl over him.

It was mentioned before as one of the reasons for the plan or atleast the choice of era we are in so....

Even if not, its inevitable that, that will be something some will try and do. I'd be pleasantly surprised if it wasn't the case, either way I didn't mean it in a demeaning or accusing manner and more as a joke considering the Naruto fanbase these days so there's no reason to feel defensive over it should that be what my statement came across as.

Itachi isn't really a factor for the choice of era for everyone. Sure, it's Itachi, and AI-kun being friends with Itachi can be hilarious (two clan genius people, maybe both clan heirs, both robots with emotions), or the greatest disaster storm.

The choice of era is down between the First Hokage, or Minato in the Hokage seat. Some people are choosing the plan based on the family position, and what that means in a gameplay style, instead of era.

Just because you are in Itachi's generation does not mean that Itachi will be the guy who's making a splash due to our existance. Remember... Minato and Kushina are still alive. Kakashi still has shreds of hope in his broken spirit (even though he's in ANBU) And guess what: Danzo and Orochimaru are definitely villains working on their own benefit... instead of the villages.

Also, Jiraya is still alive... Oh and I don't need to create new villains because the Akatsuki are running around.

Why would the Akatsuki become relevant? This is the strongest the leaf has ever been. Minato's reign as hokage is seen as a Golden Age in some fanfiction. I know you like going all Doom and Gloom, but keeping the reign of Minato as this light hearted time of great things for Konoha would be nice. There is always Madara, the deaths of Kushina and Minato later, and the after-math of that event.

Edit: Wait, how long is Minato's reign, and how old would our PC be in Itachi's era when Minato dies?
