...And when the man rode through the storm, sparks of electricity dancing around the eye holes of his mask, he found only shadows lightning and a rumbling storm. Ling Qi watched him search, her thoughts feeling as unfocused and detached as the qi that had been her body as the man rode through where she had been. It was not a comfortable feeling, it was like holding her breath as a mortal, and every second that passed sent a feeling like the burning of air starved lungs through her spirit, and her focus threatened to crumble as her thoughts tried to float away, like leaves on the wind.
Vanishing seems a little limited in that we seem to be limited in being able to do anything else well vanished. Still should we expect it to allow us to hide from even very high levels of perception? Because we are not there.

[X] One close call was enough, she would just report the activity.

Unless my understanding of the situation is wrong the fact that scouts are here is noteworthy, and the fact that they don't know we're aware of them is something best to maintain.

Yeah, I think we've tempted fate enough for one day.

nope, not worth it to follow somebody who already sensed something, might be a trap to catch any pursuer.

It's more like Ling Qi disperses into a bunch of shadows, so she's still there
Currently it's written like an emergency smoke bomb of sorts, where she evades attention by suddenly scattering into the environment
It is rather limited, but she'll probably get more uses out of it as she progresses like everything else

The only possible upside of going after them is a long conversation with Cloud Nomads, but that may be relying too much on genre conventions.

I guess the real use is to appear somewhere else later. Ultimate escape skill.

Based on the description of the skill, there's a good chance we won't need to use terrain or be out of enemy line of sight in order to use it, in which case it's very powerful. This could serve as a solution to some of our combat stealth woes. Even if we're only able to maintain the state for a short period or have limited mobility when using it, we can still use it to become untargetable, at least by a subset of attacks, whenever the situation calls for it. It's even possible that going into this state would allow us to transition into normal stealth as well, as our enemies wouldn't know where we are when we use it.

The likely downside to the massive advantages of this skill is that we likely won't be able to use arts while using it due to the way our qi is dispersed. This could be fatal if our enemy has a way to circumvent our skill.

EDIT: Whatever I've said here has been pretty much deconfirmed. Vanishing is mostly just a more powerful version of our regular stealth skill, focused on hiding, according to yrsillar on Discord. We will presumably still need arts like ENM to enable combat stealth.

My clock agrees with his - however, it is possible that your preferences for SV has you in a different time zone than your phone's settings, which could explain the discrepancy.
You have no idea the amount of frustration you have solved for me. I kept having a different time listed in SV than what it should have been for weeks and I kept trolling through the account details to find the time zone section. Almost gave up and asked the SV staff what was up.

So, thanks for giving me the solution to deal with this frustration.
