[x] Another Option- ... James Ironwood is a prick, but he's a useful prick, who wants to work with you, and has plenty of reason to think you won't. Twisting his arm for a favour... risky, and you'd rather owe Torchwick a favour rather than this guy, but there's no coverup like an Atlesian military coverup. (This is essentially Not Yet but with danger rolls for spice, and a chance to regain some anonymity to grow the Process in before going public.)

[X] Not Yet- The boy's going to a nightclub, with a cute girl all but hanging off his arm so they ward barflies off of each other. Let him rest. God knows he's earned it. This is something future Jaune can worry about.

Yeah, let's kick this down the road to future Jaune. He's gonna find out the moment he goes online - or sees a news channel out of the corner of his vision - but for the moment give him time to de-stress. Or at the very least change the reason for his stress continuing to build, variety's the spice of life after all.

I dislike the bit about arm twisting to get our way. Could we go about it more diplomatically than that if we do end up going down that path?
Someone did a modified write in vote that I'd prefer massively to the default one.

[X] Inform James Ironwood of what just happened, but don't try to twist his arm. He's likely going to want to control the information anyway- maybe not a full coverup, but making sure public opinion doesn't turn against AIs is something we both want.

I think trying to relax as two relatively normal teenagers drinking alcohol and getting swept up in the atmosphere of a club than waxing paranoid about the process or Jaune adding another person to his evidently growing kill list.

Blowing off some steam in a relatively safe environment with a friend is inarguably more emotiaonlly healthy than trying to forcibly confront all these issues at once. Worst case Weiss and Jaune find a booth, have a few drinks and observe the club life while making awkward conversation. The horror.

I think the worst case is them waking up in bed together with no recollection of what happened the night before.

Cue a hangover like side quest

... would Jaune being drunk effect how the transistor works?

Well, no, the worst case scenario is that we get into another combat because this happens to be the night Yang busts up Junior Xiong's nightclub looking for the worst mom of the year, critfail a SAN check, and just go careening happily into madness as a duo of serial murderers because clearly something has gone wrong in everyone else's heads and Weiss and ourselves are the only ones who can fix the problem.

But that's not likely, and I think that neither of these options are going to stop Weiss from getting plastered tonight, and I think that Jaune getting plastered alongside Weiss would be funny.

I wonder how hangovers compare to dumpshock on the pain-o-meter.

I really don't think the transistor would allow things to deteriorate that badly. And considering a lot of Jaune's mental processing is offloaded to the Transistor I'm not even sure he can get drunk if the Transistor doesn't let it happen.

When I was saying the worst that could happen, I was making the assumption of what would be IC concern. If the Yellow trailer does happen, I still wouldn't even be that concerned. If Jaune didn't criterial his SAN check at a murderer threatening him after he refused to use lethal force or Boriah Lee proximity to Yang isn't going to break him.

Well now I want Weiss and Jaune fighting Yang for interrupting their relaxation.

In order to help convince those of you still on the fence that this is the best option, I will now use the rest of this post to list the things that Ironwood did wrong:

Hah, 14 minutes. Better than half the time.

This is a problem for future Jaune to worry about, present Jaune just doesn't want to mess up on his date with a cute girl.

Wonder if there are any other side effects to the Transistor being shattered.
Nothing that actively affects you, now. If it happened in battle, you'd end up with a corrupted Function file that you'd have to wait until you were out of combat for an opportunity to fix it- something that would take about an hour to recover enough of the original file from a backup to replace the corrupted one.

Aside from that, if it was connected to Jaune at the point of shattering, he'd probably have blacked out for a couple minutes. A willing disconnect is bad, but a traumatic one would lay him out. Which, you know, in the middle of a battle, not a fun prospect, that.

Also Luxin, uhm that's gonna be awkward to talk about don't ya think?
The vast majority of Lumen's family has, for lack of a better term, an incomplete version of the family Semblance. I'm sure you'll find out more sooner or later.

Would [] Obfuscate be a possible choice?
By that I mean instead of scrubbing the footage, why not upload several dozen more almost similar but conflicting reports and rumors?
If you're confident enough in the idea and you can word it well enough, the write-in option is right there.

Is this since Jaune has had to deal with stuff like this so often recently, or because he has seven sisters? I can see either being the case.
Yes.

@Prok

Did no one see this? It makes me want to see a version Weiss as Red and Jaune as the transistor. (Though Weiss would obviously be called white instead of red.)
I did see it! It was...

Hearing Mr Nobody end probably his most famous line in the game with 'let me go,' was... I dunno how I feel about that.

All in all, I think it was a very interesting view of their early thoughts on the direction of the game, certainly a different direction from what we got- the Camerata apparently having a more active and malicious role in the story, the Process being relegated to a tool of theirs instead of an out of control problem for literally everybody involved- I like it a lot, but at the same time I think the end game we got was definitely the way it should have been taken.

I dislike the bit about arm twisting to get our way. Could we go about it more diplomatically than that if we do end up going down that path?

I mean.

What else would you call 'you tried to dome our friend and we're going to need you to do something good by him before we can consider a healthy working relationship with you' but twisting his arm? Opening a fair dialogue to seek reparations for damages done in order to foster a positive, mutually beneficial relationship between people who really do want what's best for all humanity?

... Shit, when I put it like that-

But no, I say twisting his arm- honestly, it's already been twisted. As people have pointed out, all it takes is one person looking at the descriptions and realising, 'oh, hey, these are like those Atlas robots, but we know nothing about them which makes them inherently more terrifying,' and boom, suddenly the whole damn well is poisoned- Ironwood's got enough foresight to realise something . It just kind of makes sense for him to take credit for this- at least that way someone with some clout can actually regain some control over the fallout of the situation. It's not that Blue and Bracket are twisting his arm, so much as they're very ready to if he isn't gearing up to do something and just waiting for their blessings.

I'll say that the idea of people lashing out at strong AI is a little out there right now- there's little to no evidence that they are strong AI, mind- not in a few blurry pictures and some descriptions. People know they're robotic in nature, and that something talked through them, and that they're probably the most technologically advanced thing out there right now. A lot to take in, a lot of stuff to be concerned about, let's be fair, but some burgeoning hatred for AI as a whole is, maybe a couple steps too far down the line to be feasible at this particular moment.

@Prok Also, you cut the sentence here:
'The sensation of a river down your spine as the Transistor connects again, your vision filling out with that HUD you hadn't even realised you'd began to'
I assume its meant to end with miss.
Fixed, thank you.

Anyway, the vote will be open until 8 pm tomorrow, making this Future Jaune's problem is winning by 15 votes over having a chat with Ironwood, and after that, we're moving into Creme's day out and then the FINAL TWO DAYS HOLY FUCK WE ARE SO CLOSE

[X] Yes- regardless of everything else, this should be probably be taken into consideration when planning your next move with the Process. Like, no matter how you want to cut it, Jaune's going to find out anyway. You might as well nip it in the bud.

While I normally would be all for bullying Future Jaune, this really needs to be dealt with right now.

Going to a nightclub just isn't that important. Jaune's sanity can handle this.

I still think my "inform, don't request" write-in is better, but even this is far better than letting than letting public opinion go wild. Approval voting everything except procrastination

No, it... really doesn't. If it absolutely needed to be dealt with this instant, Bracket would be telling us about it. As it is, the genie is out of the bottle, and since we can't put it back in and we don't have a publicity team, there's nothing we can do tonight that we couldn't do just as easily tomorrow, after we have just one damn night to be whatever passes for normal in our crazy life.
