We had Ridcully look at it already quite recently, and the heavy attrition was determined to be a combination of bad luck and many of the psykers identifying them as their greatest danger. Also, most all of the attrition this turn was due to a single attack by an Alpha.
I recall that as being no-so recent.......how recent was it?

am I just getting messed up by the breaks that durin took recently (due to heat/stuff, i know)?

@Durin, I have a question inspired by a few divergent Christian beliefs. Monothelitism is the idea that Christ had two natures (human and divine) but one will. Dyothelitism said he had two natures and two corresponding wills. Miyaphysitism said that he had a united human and divine nature. In the case of Embers in the Dusk, could there be (a) being(s) with these qualities?

Take that one surviving Thunder Warrior. Despite being a brute who knew only war, he was capable of attaining an immense degree of biological knowledge, to the point that eventually he managed to solve the Thunder Warriors' ageing. From that, we can extrapolate that the Adeptus Custodes are capable of learning things other than what they were made for, and to a very high degree.
I mean...I wouldn't take Taranis as indicative of anything. Man's got a lot of weird stuff going on (for example he's the only character not a Primarch or Emps to have the mind whammy aura). Quite notably the character who states this, detects nothing of the sought from the other Thunder Warriors they meet, just Taranis.

Given the etymology of his name and other strange stuff going on it's likely he's a bit more than the regular for thunder warriors.

That said I don't disagree with your core point, despite being "made for war" lots of Emps creations do really well in areas he'd never want them working in.

Sort of trancendant gods

@Durin
1. Would it possible to get soldiers to Eldars before next High Council meeting?
2. If yes, is Sound Out correct action to get permissions it?
Just making sure.

Should we send Ophelia out to assist the eldar? If she comes back I'm guessing she'll do so as a Heroic Primaris.

Ophelia isn't someone we should send away. The troops that get sent are going to be used for some of the hardest fighting. That means heavy casualties especially any psykers we send since they are going to be the strongest weapons against necron Destroyers.

Jane is going to hit Paragon Psyker Hunter at this point. I expect her Grandmaster Psyker Hunter trait will merge with other traits to provide the requisite +3C without pushing Jane over Transcend. Probably Blade of the Tempest.

Jane killed a possessed Alpha+, and only hot promoted to Grandmaster for her trouble. What the hell does she need to kill for the paragon Witch Hunter trait?
