Before talking about Alfons Uberti Inquisitor Klovis-Ultan briefed you on the Uberti Rogue Trader Dynasty to which he is the heir. From what you are told the Uberti was a Rogue Trader Dynasty of no particular renown at the Fall of the Imperium that happened to currently have a heavy presence in the Yring Sector that borders on the Takama Sector that the Blood Dragon's made their home in. Like many Rogue Trader Dynasties they ended up forming a Petty Imperium in the aftermath of the Fall of the Imperium, a Petty Imperium that lasted for less then two hundred years before being gutted by an Ork Waaagh. Seeing that he would never be able to recover from this the current head of the Dynasty Marco Uberti arranged to flee to Dragon's Nest carrying as many of his best educated citizens and most valuable resources as his hastily expanded fleet could carry. Once in Dragon's Nest he as previously arranged surrounded control over the majority of his people and half of his fleet and resources, and in return had his Warrant of Trade recognized. Since then the Uberti Dynsaty has become one of the wealthy merchant houses in Dragon's Nest, owning an appreciable fraction of the Merchant Marine and having investments and property on dozens of world, while occasionally launching expeditions to distant locations, some of which came back with vital resources and knowledge and others were lost.
This was the life into which Alfons Uberti was born, the firstborn son of the current head of the Dynasty. Alfons Uberti was quickly considered to be a genius whose suggestion led to several major economic coups by the Dynasty. By the time he had reached his fiftieth year Alfons Uberti had been given control over the Cruiser Astoria and its entourage, the most prestigious command in the dynasty. Over the next two centuries Alfons Uberti commanded no less then four expeditions that went beyond a years journey from Dragon's Nest, three of which were great successes, and he came back from the last which is better then most failures. However he had a far greater impact on the fortunes of his house with the economic advice he gave his father, which massively increased profits or cut expenses in several fields and led to the Uberti Dynasty quickly growing into the Dragon's nest's richest house, controlling over a fifth of the Merchant Navy and a tenth of its military production.
Alfons Uberti is in many ways a classic merchant, driven more by profit and duty towards his own then anything else, though one with a strong understanding of enlightened self-interest and the dangers of the galaxy which the military forces must defend against. According to Inquisitor Klovis-Ultan he sees a marriage with Syr as a way of tying his Dynasties merchant empire to what he believes will become one of the most productive systems in the region.
