You know considering that there are likely things that can perma kill daemons on Avernus you gotta wonder
how many daemons Khorne has lost permanently due to this invasion?

BLOODLETTER's OF KHORNE!!
OUR PORTALS TO THE IMMATERIUM HAVE BEEN SEALED AND OUR RESERVES EXHAUSTED! WE SHALL SURELY SOON BE BANISHED BACK TO MIGHTY KHORNE's REALM TO AWAIT PUNISHMENT FOR OUR FAILURE.

BUT BEFORE WE SUFFER AND BURN IN THE FURY OF OUR LORD'S DISPLEASURE WE WILL SEE THESE MORTALS SUFFER. THE LAST SAINT WILL BE CRUSHED BENEATH MY CLAW, THE WITCH AND HER WHELP SHALL BURN IN WARP FIRE, AND THE SEER's BLOOD DRANK IN EXALTATION TO OUR LORD.

WE WILL REMIND THESE FOOLS WHY WE ARE TO BE FEARED. WE WILL BRING THEIR CHAMPIONS LOW TO DEMONSTRATE OUR MIGHT. ALL SHALL SEE OUR MAJESTY AND DESPAIR.

BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!! SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE!! LET THE GALAXY BURN!!!!!

Not nearly enough to convince it to stop trying this crap.

Likely never enough unless it flat out looses an exalted, as that would seriously impact the Great Game.

If it loses all three Honored Bloodthirsters we've seen, it might be a bit warier.

We should really look into finding a way to make more perma daemon killing weapons. Even if it's nowhere near as good as a the BCS, even if we can only make something like one or two every century and their only special feature is that they can only perma kill daemons they would still be valuable as hell since we can give them to people like Jacob or Xavier since that as least some guaranteed perma dead daemons every Avernite chaos invasion.

Doubt it.

Those are mere Alpha+, minor investments of power at most. Khorne as the current strongest has billions of them at it's beck and call.

Exalted are the real deals, each equivalent to and having the power of a minor god in it's own right, they can't just make them and loosing them.

Even Khorne only has 3 Exalted (An'ggrath, Khabanda and Scarbrand) with Angron as an ascended fourth.

Very unlikely to happen. Off the top of me head the only other true killing item I can think of is the Talisman of Seven Hammers (of course things like emps blade and probably Drach'nyen, but when are we ever going to get our mitts on them?)

Still we got more access to perma killers than most thanks to the enhanced soul killing flames which can True Death daemons.

At best we maybe able to create one off, very expensive true killers, but never something we can use over and over again.

Our Psykers can do it with a Rune of Fire, but beyond that... We might be able to get another power like that through researching the Ammut Crocodiles or Solomonic Seals, or be able to make a weapon with that property through combining the Rune of Banishment and Rune of Fire through a Bridge Rune, or through a Royal Level Alkahestral Poison. For the weapon, our best bet would be to buy the Bridge Rune and Rune of Enchanting, and have First Artisan Granalf work on the project.

@Durin
1. Anything about the above that might need changing, with respect to heroes? I'm mainly just uncertain if I'm not putting enough somewhere, or if there's overkill anywhere, etc. It's hard to gauge the actual threat levels in some ways.
2. Where is Ophelia currently? She could be an asset, but it's hard to know whether moving her would cause a problem.
3. Would moving Aryz into supporting one of the main fronts here have any consequences?

@Durin, I believe you missed my questions. If you don't want to answer the first, that's fine. I'm mainly just uncertain about how many heroes each location really needs.

Oh that reminds me, we should really make sure our guys that are going to be facing the really strong daemons the Alkhestry potions and the poisons that can even kill daemons if they aren't using them already since this is the last stretch of the invasion.

I'm reasonably sure that Khorne doesn't have billions of Honored Bloodthirsters hanging around. Remember, these are just below Exalted Bloodthirsters, and presumably just above the Archangel of the Third Sphere. I'd peg their numbers at a few thousand at the most, a few hundred if you're correct about Khorne only having four Exalted Bloodthirsters. I'd place their value to Khorne at about the level that our Marshals or less important Advisers are to us. IE, it hurts to lose one, but it's not a massive critical weakness.

Ok, here's my own thoughts...

[] The City of Glass: Reinforcements
[] The City of Glass: (Xavier, Jane Oakheart, Jacob Oakheart)
[] Dis: Reinforcements
[] Dis: (Sir Pellinor, Companions of Varen)
[] The Lonely Citadel: Reinforcements
[] The Lonely Citadel: (Major-General Mineyev w/ Black Irons, The Phase Tigers)

[] Air Support: Concentrated

While I disagree with a lot of notanataumaton's plan, I do like that he included some of our less noticed heroes. Sir Pellinor and the Companions are combat monsters in their own right. I might shift Xavier to Dis, but the minor heroes all have combat in the high forties.

While I'd love to get Aryz involved, he's quite far from any of these fronts, and furthermore he's also likely going to want to defend his own people during this crisis.

1. no
2. she is offworld, sub-sector Gehanna to be more precise
3. no

Ok, with Durin's latest answer set I believe this will do it. Everywhere here should have enough to hold, and hopefully kill off the Greater Daemons.

while killing a daemon's soul is really hard, how difficult is to meaningful hurt, curse or weak it? these bastards also need to eat (feelings and souls but they do eat), so we also can improve ways to hurt them and make it last. Because other daemons will certainly try to usurper their position and power or just kill them (if they can).

(bad joke) if anything else fail we can lobotomize the part of those teleport spiders that handle the teleport and then extract the vernon (before battle because I remember that don't last for long) to kill daemons. Not that anyone sane would actually do this in avernus ^^ (we do hate those things).

throwing my support, so that when I return to lurk I don't fell bad with myself (because I really like this plan).

Re: Killing Daemons

The Rube of Fire allows soul-killing flames. Combine with Trap rune, one could potentially create single shot soulkilling attacks.

...Well actually, I realize we have not placed the Rune of Fire on Deathstrikes.
