Alright people, but before PTM starts we need to practice combat as in Teras Kasi at least once. As in please choose this turn to practice combat at least before Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon arrive.
Just to clarify, any of the negative traits you could have gained would be mild(level 1)to Minor (level 2). It's level 4 before reaching a "clinical level) and actually affecting you.
Mild depression should fade quickly with some success and a little pride in your success.
Other potentials were rebellious, apathetic, and angry.

B-But Anger and defiance is always wrong isn't it? Its not like they are completely valid and even desirable emotions to feel in his or at least in some situations. Especially when his parents were going to set him straight anyway.

Not when you made a six year-old cry and terrified his friends! God, why must I repeat myself! It's not the end of the world to gain a bad trait that we can lose if we have good rolls in one turn. Stop making things seem as if they're worse than they are! And I'm not talking just about @DkArthas here.

Dude, calm the fuck down. You are the only one over reacting here.
It is just something I wanted people to keep in mind for later, like GM said in that update, that just because something is viewed negatively by adults or us, doesn't mean it will have negative effect for a 7 year old child.
@DkArthas you should've expressed yourself better. I'm not face to face to you and there aren't a lot of ways to interpret your previous words. Anger and defiance have their place, but the way you wrote the post wasn't as a reminder that they could better fit future events and actions since we're a kid. It came across as 'this happened because we did not go that way' and while you have every right to feel dissatisfied with the direction or voting, I've seen a lot of quests where failure or a bad trait got a lot of backlash just because most people wanted a curb-stomp.
Sorry if I came across as frustrated, but I would rather we face failure or the gain of negative traits as a problem to be overcome, not something to protest until we sour things (not saying that's what you did or that was the effect you wanted through your complaint).
edit: And I'm a woman. But sure, you can definitely call me dude.
Determined trait involved some combo of temper trantrum, defiant, or justified though all three would have given rebellious trait.
As DKArthas said, its prolly better to think about what's developmentally healthy for a seven year old than to impose our own developed ideas on what Anakin "should" feel.
Temper tantrums aren't normal for an adult, but they are normal for children and useful for them to express intense emotion. It's the parents job to teach them how to express that emotion in a suitable way. And you have good parents btw...
@Arthellion not all kids react the same way or develop at the same pace. As for temper tantrums, these are normal reactions to events that frustrate young kids from one to four. But they are not a good way to show emotions at Anakin's age. We are seven, almost eight. At this age most children have already learnt better ways of dealing with their pent up emotions. Throwing a temper tantrum is worrisome for a child of Anakin's age, if not one of his background. His loss of control over his anger in his fight with Owen (bad dice roll or not) is not on the other hand. Kids aren't the best at holding on to their tempers.
Not to say that a temper tantrum can't happen, but it does need to meet certain conditions to be believable like Anakin is under a lot of stress and anger for a considerate amount of time. Otherwise his parents would need to send him to speak to a doctor.

Good insight. I'm not a psychology major (history and minoring in philosophy actually), so developmental psychology is something I'm basing on wiki articles and things I've observed in real life. Maybe most of the children I know are just brats, but I know many who throw tantrums and they are 8 or 9.
Either way, a way to view it could be that since Anakin was a Slave, he's never had the chance to express those emotions without the threat of pain.
Don't worry though, votes relying on developmental pscyhology won't really play a huge role in the quest
It's their parents fault then. I'm sorry if I've offended someone you know, but it's kind of the parents fault. And I did point that temper tantrums could be appropriate for Anakin's Slave background.

I don't know much about psychology but by my experience even some children of about 12 and 14 throw temper tantrums quite regularly. And the less said about the younger ones the better...
@DkArthas so was I, but I rarely had temper tantrums becaue my parents would let me exhaust myself to sleep and ignore me. It was not an effective tactic to employ to get my point across. They encouraged me to speak with them and get to the source of my frustrations.
The only time I did have a good reason to get so emotional was when they made me walk on foot during one of our trips for hours on end for miles to visit a dam when I was seven. My cousins took the car but my parents wanted to walk. And I was a tall for my age, twig-like figure whose joints ached a lot as a kid. So I was not a happy camper.
Edit: I've seen a lot of kids that parents fail to impose limits on who act like that, but it's not so much the kids failings as it is their parents and teachers who don't care or don't know how or can be bothered with to reign in. Sorry again if I cause offence. Some of my cousins were just as bratty and still are now at twenty something.
"This is unacceptable," Cliegg looked at both you and your step-brother in disappointment. His words carried a heavy weight despite the man's calm tone. A beautiful blue bruise had begun to form on your cheek; however Owen had taken more damage. A black eye appeared to be forming and a trail of blood stained his cheek from a cut above the eye. Tears filled the younger boy's eyes and he whimpered,
"Anakin hit me so hard!"
He appeared about to continue, but Cliegg's hard glare cut him off. Cliegg looked at you and asked,
"Anakin, please tell me what happened from your point of view?"
"Well," you started. A sinking feeling settled in your stomach. You hadn't wanted this to turn into a fight. You just wanted to be friend with your step-brother! Your eyes began to water as you spoke, "I just wanted to make Owen like me! I walked over and was trying to be friends, but he called me a slave and mom stupid! I lost my temper and it just kind of got worse from there..."
Cliegg's facial expression did not change and he looked at Owen,
"Now Owen, please tell me what happened from your point of view?"
"Anakin came over to me and Greedo and Beru," Owen spoke haltingly, "I told him to go away and he said it was my fault that mom died so I punched him to get him to stop."
"I didn't-" You tried to clarify your statement, but Cliegg's eyes stopped you cold. Owen continued,
"He went crazy! Just tackled me! If Greedo hadn't been there he might of killed me!"
Cliegg remained silent as Owen finished. Your step-father's eyes were cold and his facial expression gave no insight into his true feelings. The man remained quiet for several long moments before saying,
"Anakin, I understand why you punched Owen, but understanding does not make it right. Your temper is dangerous if you let it control you. You must learn to control your temper. When Owen punched you, the wise thing to do would have been to walk away."
Shame filled your mind. You knew this, but to hear Cliegg say it made you feel sick to your stomach. Cliegg looked at Owen,
"Owen, enough is enough. Anakin and Shmi are your family. I know you miss your mom. I miss her too, desperately; but life goes on. We cannot say no to loving new people just because others have passed on. Your mother was the most gentle woman I have ever known. She would want you to love your new family. Now apologize to your brother."
Owen eyes sheepishly looked at you. You offered a small smile and said,
"I want to be your brother, Owen. I don't want us to fight.
Owen's eyes narrowed as if in thought and he,

stuck his hand out at you.
"I'm sorry."
"I'm sorry too," you stuck out your hand and gripped his own. The two of you shared a smile. You might not be the best of friends, but you were brothers; and for now, that's all that mattered.
AMBITION ACHIEVED! To Make Owen Your Friend: You are tired of the unfriendly relationship you have with your step brother and wish it to be better.
+300 XP.
Mild Depression removed! "Ugh, when's the old bag supposed to get here?" your brother moaned. The two of you had been waiting outside for fifteen minutes for your new "teacher" to arrive. Cliegg had figured that since the two of you both struggled with controlling your temper, it might be a good idea to train in martial arts. Apparently, the old janitor who visited your home weekly to clean, was a master of Teras Kasi. The universe worked in mysterious ways.
"The 'old bag' will arrive whenever she darn well pleases," the voice of an elderly woman came from behind you.
"I- I'm sorry, Ms. Arden-" Owen stuttered, but was cut off by the sharp whack of a stick upon his head.
"Silence, you shall speak only when I allow it," the woman's eyes were cold and you sensed a great deal of hatred within her, but also wisdom. Her black eyes turned towards you for a moment and then back towards your brother, "You shall refer to me as Master Zan, if I am to teach you. Your father humbly request I teach you both, but should you prove incompetent I will have nothing more to do with you. Now, are there any questions?"
"Erm, yes, Master Zan," you started nervously, "What is Teras Kasi? I know its a martial art, but what makes it different from others?"
"Sit," the woman's voice was harsh and brooked no disagreement. You and your brother dropped to the ground. The sand burned your hand slightly, but your thick clothing prevented any lasting damage as you sat upon the sands.
"Teras Kasi was invented by the followers of Palawa to fight Jedi and other force users after the Jedi destroyed their homeworld millenia ago. The Followers of Palawa believed that normal people needed to have the ability to fight off force users. The techniques involved in Teras Kasi are based on lighting quick movements and anticipation of strikes. Mentally, Teras Kasi grants users control over their own mind and allows them to resist Force abilities. Furthermore, Masters of the Style are capable of extending their life."
"Huh?" your brother emitted. Your mind spun with the information and you struggled to make sense of the terms. The Jedi had destroyed a homeworld? But the Jedi were the good guys! You were about to ask a question, but the thwack of a stick on your brother's head resounded throughout the courtyard.
"Silence! We shall begin with meditation."
The woman quickly demonstrated the proper way to sit during meditation. She then grew silent. You,

observed how the woman slowed her breathing and mimicked her. Your mind cleared and time seemed to lose all meaning. You felt something calling you. It felt pure and vile at the same time. It was the purest goodness and the vilest evil. Both were separate. Both were the same. A single message could be heard, "Find the balance..."
TWACK! You were broken from your meditation and the voice by Master Zan's stick. Pain ached from your head. She looked at you with an odd expression on her face before saying, "Don't fall asleep on me, child. Now let us begin he opening katas."
You would spend the next year training in the Teras Kasi style both physically and mentally. You could feel your strength grow, but the words never left your mind. "Find the Balance."
Ultimately your training in Teras Kasi went:

Aside from school and practicing Teras Kasi, your mind was also occupied with another task. The pyramid shaped objects. You weren't certain exactly what they were, but you instinctively knew that they held great power within them. You had not spoke of them to anyone, but late in the evening you still tinkered with them, trying to figure out how exactly they worked. You had shied away from the red altar and primarily worked with the blue one. The red altar promised excitement, but you perceived that that excitement would be incredibly dangerous. The blue pyramid provide a sense of serenity and wisdom. Late one evening you,

stared at the holocron silently. Somehow, you knew there was a way to unlocked the power within. You paused, maybe meditation could do something? You settled into a simple Teras Kasi meditation pose and stilled your breathing. Several minutes passed and you began to wonder if this would do anything. Suddenly, the pyramid hummed and a hologram of a human male dressed in robes appeared. The hologram looked down at you and stated,
"My name is Jedi Master Sidrona Diath. You have awoken my holocron. What is your name?"
"Anakin Skywalker," you gulped slightly. The figured nodded and spoke,
"I sense great potential within you, for the light or the dark...or perhaps both. My holocron, such as it has survived over the years, is open to you. What would you like to study?

So far it had seemed a good year, but come harvest time you were bored out of your mind. Yes, you were required to help Cliegg around the farm, but without school, you found yourself with a great deal of free time. You decided you wanted to experience the thrill of piloting. Cliegg had taught you some of the basics of how to fly the family speeder and you had taken to it like a fish to water, but you wanted your own speeder that you could practice with; but to do so, you would need money.
Which is why one day, when Cliegg had taken you to the market, you made your way to one of the bars. You remembered several people becoming rich at Gardula's palace and decided that gambling was the way to gain yourself some money. C-3PO walked with you, and you briefly regretted being his maker with his incessant complaining.
"Oh Master Anakin! This bar is no place for a young man such as yourself! The odds of you not dying a gruesome death here are 50 to one!'
"Threepio, be quiet, Iknow what I'm doing!" Or at least, you hope you did. You soon found a nice table where several sketchy characters were playing Pazaak You had 10 gold peggats from your time working around the farm. You figured you could gamble and use that to make some money.
"Deal me in."
The gamblers looked at you in confusion for a few minutes before shrugging and passing you some cards.
You won. And then you won again. And then you were kicked out of the bar.
So you went to another bar. And you won again until you were kicked out.
By the end of the day, you had been kicked out of most of the bars near the marketplace, but you had made quite a bit of money. You presented Cliegg with your winnings. The man had appeared stun at the amount but quickly stated that you were never to gamble again. You still managed to convince him to purchase a Speeder for you.
You decided that you would Pick one

You made good use of your new speeder, never traveling too far from home. Your mother always worried a great deal, but Cliegg apparently understood your need to test your limits and allowed you to practice with the speeder so long as you made certain to fly during the day and never traveled too far from home.

You quickly dodged out of the blow and smiled at your step-brother. The two of you had grown close over the past year. Ever since the fight, the two of you had let out your aggression in Teras Kasi spars. Owen had gradually warmed up to you and you considered him to be your best friend. Greedo and Beru had also become close friends as well; Greedo even taught you how to speak Rodese! Together, the four of you were inseparable.
You both collapsed in exhaustion. Master Zan was gone for the weekend, but that did not stop the two of you from training together. The night sky was littered with stars.
"Hey Ani, do you think you'll ever leave Tatooine?" Owen asked. You thought for a moment and said,
