Star Wars: The Chosen One (An Anakin Skywalker Quest)

Err... per the wiki Anakin was born in 41 BBY. Which means that, when he's 19 years old, it will be 22 BBY -- aka, the same year the Clone Wars start.

We're not going to have time to learn Niman, or master Dun Moch or Jar'Kai, or half the things we're hoping to achieve here, unless Palpatine drastically slows down his plans for when to trigger the Clone Wars. (After all, it was right after the Battle of Naboo that he manipulated Dooku and Sifo-Dyas to order the Clone Army, to be delivered ~10 years later. Palpatine already has a time-table in mind; whether that's changed due to our intervention, I don't know, but either way it means we have a much shorter timetable than I was expecting).
Might be an idea to focus on lvl up Makashi, Force Jump and Telekinesis first then -Thank you Dooku- get them out of the way.

We don't even need Telekinesis and Force Jump fully level to be effective. Unless we want to Fly, 5 lvls are probably enough.

heh, flying without a ship...that would be fun though! think about it, so many options could be available to us!

not to mention we will finally get the high ground...ALL THE TIME!

I've pushed Clone Wars back about 5-6 years.

Edit: They're also gonna last a good bit longer than canon. More like 10-15 years than the shorter canon time frame
a) That helps a lot. That puts the end of the Clone War somewhere between 7 BBY and 1 BBY.
b) Which also means that we might get a chance to see Luke and Leia -- or our kid(s) by some other waifu -- later in the quest!

Dooku's 2 less turns still apply so you auto get to Level 2 in Makashi.
One training and you get level 3. Two trainings and you get level 4. Three trainings and you get to five. Etc
I must have missed this earlier, but does this mean that "2 less turns" applies to every Level of learning a Lightsaber form? Because that's huge.

Also, out of sheer perverse masochism, I decided to look over the list of Potential Jedi Masters (now under the 'Apocrypha' tab).

Just look at the Jedi Masters we're missing out on:
Legendary 12CP, 3.5 XP Gain While your Master
Name: Mace Windu
Rank: Master of the Order, Guardian
Abilities: Master of Every Form, Shatterpoint, Vaapad
Perks of Master: Permanent +4 to Every Stat on Level up. All Saber Styles Unlocked and Learned in 2 less turns. Shatterpoint Unlocked immediate to Level 3 and learned in 2 less turns to master. Dark Side Force Powers Unlocked to learn.
Types of Missions: Spec Ops, Close Relations with the Senate, Coruscant Focused
Alignments Accepted:
Lawful Dark
Lawful Neutral

Chosen 14CP, 4XP Gain while your Master

Name: Yoda
Rank: Grandmaster, Consular
Abilities: Master of Every form, Ataru Master, Force Master
Perks of Master: Permanent +6 to every Stat on level up. Learn Ataru in two less turns. Learn All Force Abilities in one less turn. Create Holocrons. Unlock Center of the Force Perk for free.
Types of Missions: Training Initiates, Studying Mysteries of the Force, Delving into the Balance Questline
Alignments Accepted:
Lawful Light
I understand that having Dooku as a Master has more to offer from a story perspective, for those of us who don't want to be stuck on Coruscant, but... gah! Look at that opportunity cost! Why did people vote to go with him?

Given how much this quest has developed -- in terms of the setting (now we know that we can't rely on OOC knowledge) and in terms of the mechanics -- I would love to go back and start over from Turn 1.

dude were planning on mastering the dark-side so we can then master the light side in turn. master our emotions and then master our inner self, become the force itself.

or if you think like Kiera....we just take over the main consciousness of the force itself, force the Jedi and Sith to get some damn balancing acts done!!!

Kek. Yes it applies to every level of Makashi.

As for starting at turn 1...i wouldn't be opposed to running this quest again one day in the future.

good luck with that....

it will never happen...

believe me, I was at space battle before I came here and the shiny will never end!

Niman as active training would take 2+3+4+5=14 ticks at most to get +3 to most styles (total of 18 ticks, likely; 6 of those in Dun Moch or Jar'Kai). Makashi passive during the same time takes 1+2+3+4+5=15 ticks to get level 7; assuming level 5 Guardian for the last level or two call it 13 training actions (~6 years) to get somewhere around Makashi 7, Niman 5, Dun Moch 5, Jar'Kai 4, Shii-Cho 4, Soresu 3, Ataru 3, Shien 3. That's not bad for Anakin at 14, I would wager.

Incidentally, with Sentinel/Guardian, I believe he still has access to... I, II, III, IV and VI; he only loses access to Shien, an easy path to unlock Saber Throw, access to exotic weapons and a saber style discount that'd come into play later on. Shien gives Strength, critical hit deflection and some AC. Saber Throw seems a bit of a desperation move only (unless it unlocks TK Saber Style?). Exotic weapons are funny-looking, but unlikely to be chosen. Saber style discount is appealing... but aside from the Niman boost it's probably only going to show a relatively minor difference except in the very long run - at least with what Anakin currently has access to and given training time limitations. For extra boosts to the mental stats, skill boosts and mental AC? It's actually not as bad of a trade-off as it looks. Mechanically, at least.

Now, if you think it's still too slow, then you need to hope for either perks that build on the Prodigy ones or for Anakin to pick up more Force Bonds. That would be a rather amusing direction for the quest to go - Anakin going around the Galaxy and leaving behind a whole web of bonds everywhere he goes (would fit with a Charisma-focused Anakin, perhaps?). Alas, however, he missed a beat with enslaving Maul, so he stumbled at the starting line there :p

It not that great an idea, just asks The Exile :lol:p

Considering this...
Jedi Guardian
...
Level 5:+2 to All Physical Stats. Learn All Saber styles in one Less turn.
...doesn't just save us one training session, but would save us ten training sessions per lightsaber style we learn (at least twenty, probably more, considering we're basically guaranteed to learn Makashi and Niman), I am very much inclined to change my vote.

Skills are nice, Mental AC is nice, but action economy is better, and Guardian saves a lot of time.

CHANGED VOTE:

[x] [Class] Dual Class (-10CP): Guardian/Consular

and the memes start rolling in, better edit those before the mods come a-knocking...

do we get a +1 to something for weird dream humor?
