Squirrel Sect [Stone age] [Riot Quest] [Squirrels Cultivating]

[X] Farmland

He-who-works-with-plants had done his namesake well, but new avenues of plants had opened up.
He worked now on the area around the plants, trying to find the best ground to grow the plants and bringing more water to grow plants.
He would continue his work for making better plants.
Even as those around him watched for owls, he watched plants.
While others worked on gathering or building, he worked on the plants.
He would help the plants as much as the plants helped them all.

Edit: re-roll available if anyone needs it this turn.
Edit 2: re-roll used by Toboe

Long-term goal: Dao of awakening other Squirrels, which could potentially upgrade to awakening non-Squirrels and/or helping other Squirrels Cultivate faster.

Short-term: try not to die.

[X]Guard from the owls (Very Dangerous)

A particularly tall Red Squirrel was awakened by his fellow Squirrels and, grateful for the assistance, looked around for the best way to assist back. A ravenous flight of Owls answered that question, forcing the new Red Squirrel to immediately take up arms and try to defend his newfound family. He found a crack in a Tree, that was almost impossible to access, and with a bow and a bundle of arrows, started pelting the Owls. While he initially missed more often than he hit, a lucky shot still downed an Owl that was about to kill another Squirrel - an arrow to the eye is something that few creatures indeed appreciate.

(Dice: Natural 10 explodes. Second die is a 1; Omake reroll of second die is a 7. I believe that's a 17 total?)

Well I like the Ai art I'm going to have to rule it is not eligible for Rerolls.

1) As a (Poor) artist I don't want to be part of the ethical problems I think AI art has.

2) I don't want to see the death of all the cute MS paint art and replace with a cornucopia of incredibly similar computer generated art. Because it requires little to no effort to generate a picture. I accept low efforts works because I want to encourage the creativity and reward the dedication. I feel AI art would create an incentive to never do that again.

I was under the impression that a 41 total would achieve something notable?
it's more a matter of bigger numbers just being better than lower numbers.

rolling 3 10s is just the barrier that signals an inspiration. the 41 wasn't a new threshold but was more it's just higher than like 35 so the resulting reward was a bit better.

but honestly unless we have the free rerolls for it, it's not really worth aiming for higher than the 30s if there are other things that could use a reroll.

since they've already activated the inspiration
and giving it to someone else could help trigger another inspiration that would be helpful

[X] Interrupt and knock around the Squirrels trying to cultivate. While it may make it significantly harder to cultivate, they will be aware of their surroundings and the attacking owls, hopefully saving their lives

Blood blankets the home of the Sect, Squirrels die in droves and even the Bows are not enough to turn back the owls...

The Sect is under threat like never before and it is a relief that the young masters have been culled by the owls and the new generation seems to be ready to ensure the sect can defend itself. Returning back from her work fighting back against the owls, feeling like she has aged 6 years instead of 6 days, the self proclaimed elder squirrel is ready to take a short moment of rest. That is, until she sees a pair of foolish youth trying to cultivate against all common sense. The foolishness of youth returns energy into her tired body and she cannot manage to rest - shoving the young masters around she ensures they cannot begin their mediation - while it may cause the sect to lose the Qi Acorns they ate, at least it would hopefully save these foolish fools!

On the one hand, this could help save a few squirrels. On the other, I can't help but feel that this could be a very slippery slope to start on.

Hello! I saw cute squirrels I wanna help them survive and learn martial arts! That's all!

[X]Gather Wood

Omake for good luck:
It is the middle of the day. In a hidden tree-nook, a squirrel works at an acorn, a pile of branches and bark beside him. The Owls are out for blood, and the Sect is in dire need of Wood for protection, but it has taken him all of the morning to fetch some.

Thankfully, and unlike what his stone-cutter fellows experienced, squirrel teeth were already well equipped for Wood: before having to worry about qi and tools, they already carved trees for refuge, and gnawed through the hardiest of nuts for food.

The vague memory makes an idea slowly start to turn in his head as he looks at his lunch. If the hardy leftovers from food counted as Wood... could they be used as materials in the Sect's projects?

Edit: Wood enough?

Edit 2: lol well at least it wasn't a lower one

You get a reroll for the omake, as well.

Finally in single-digit wood deficit.

EDIT: We are no longer in debt/losing wood this turn!

[X]Gather Wood
As I scurry through the foliage, a newfound awareness floods my being, awakening me to a world beyond mere instinct. Memories of my brethren, their tiny bodies torn asunder by the merciless talons of owls, weigh heavily upon my newly sentient mind. The once innocuous chirping of birds now carries a sinister undertone, a reminder of the dangers lurking in the shadows. With each twitch of my whiskers, I vow to honor the sacrifice of my fallen kin, to navigate this perilous realm with cunning and resilience. Today, I am not merely a squirrel; I am a survivor, fueled by the legacy of those who came before me. With determination burning in my chest, I set out to gather wood, my tiny claws scrabbling against the forest floor. Each twig and branch I collect is not merely fuel for crafting, but a barrier against the looming threat of the owls. As I work tirelessly, the memories of my slaughtered brethren fuel my resolve, driving me so that a shelter may be constructed in the future. I vow to create a haven where my kin can find safety and solace amidst the chaos of the wilderness.
Edit: Reroll available for someone who needs it.
