Yeeeeessssss. But that can be said for the whole team. Did it ignore me completely? Did it roll it's many eyes and complain about another lunatic infatuated with itself? Did I amuse it with being the only one armed with a gift and a confession instead of weapons enough to make that offer in the first place? How'd it take the bug and flower bouquet? Is there anything about my body it seemed to study more? I need details so my little furry guy knows how to alter his approach! Does he have a shot at all?!

Congratulations, @Zedalb . You refused to give a flat 'no' and now you've turned it into a bidding war.
Oh, I know! Give an extremely high amount and see if they match it. If they can't, you won't have to actually write it. If they do and actually pay up, you'll manage to score a major payday out of this nonsense!
Pretty sure we need to make up for going into the negatives on wood, Spears are either finished or about to be, but not having wood could be a problem next turn
There's a lot of small experimental stuff we can do to try and find alternate or superior paths to defending ourselves. Another would be looking for small holes or branches that are tangled closer together in the trees.
These are experiments though, so we need people mostly piling on getting the known solution done. A few of us are currently experimenting with combat and your experimenting with you're Dao. We'll have to see what this all amounts to.
Someone searching for natural shelter though might be nice. I suspect it will be a stop gap though.
[X] Wood Spear Costs 5 Wood: Improves combat ability. (Every 4 progress makes on spear)
This squirrel had finally gathered enough qi, and thus intellect and will, to benefit the collective. It awoke to a massacre. Over a dozen squirrels dead, a sizable portion of the collective, and four of them being the strongest squirrels, the cultivators. And another attack will occur tonight.
The squirrel would love to research, to create knowledge that will benefit the collective forevermore as it is built off of and improved. But that requires that there still be a collective. Research often does not have immediate benefits, as learning about spears does not mean one can benefit from it them first being made.
The collective must survive, and the collective is under threat. Something must be done to relieve the situation. And thus, the squirrel steeled himself as he started making spears.
Edit: Wait, there was a wood shortage? Well, we sure made a lot of spears.
The squirrel soon learned the value of consulting the collective, even awakening this late into the day. It grabbed some wood and made quite a few good spears, only to realize how little wood was left, as several of the collective had a similar idea, working together to attempt to outfit every squirrel with a spear.
