Shepard Quest Mk VI, Technological Revolution

The Andromeda idea has some merit. Have Revy be the backer as a Plan B for the reaper threat.

She comes along either herself, a clone or mindstate backup.
We actually discussed such a project even before Andromeda was a thing. We, however, mostly centered on making self-sufficient space-based habitat with unlimited lifespan (and materials, when it needs them, from asteroid mining at short stops) and launching those away from the galaxy into deep space.

EDIT: Doing Andromeda might be fun, if a bit difficult due to common "this is so stupid" and "this cannot work like this" moments, of which there is a ton, and which we'll be running into often. At least for me.

It's not like the first three parts were free from that.

And really, all that's necessary is the basic idea and parts of the setting. We don't have to take anything else as Revys existence butterflies it all away. Like the Nexus lacking power without the Arks. Or a lot of the general idiocy like not making stops outside the galaxy to take a look at where you are going before you crash into something.

Does anyone have any way of contacting @Hyor? Having a new GM take over would be a lot easier if he could at least pass on his notes.

See below.

Is there anyone who knows Hoyr and is able to contact him by other means?
Like Facebook?

edit: I was able to find him on facebook but I did not contact him as I wanted to respect his privacy.

So yeah, unless you can get to him on this site, you're better off simply not bothering.

Also, you didn't tag him right it seems...

Also, if you look at his profile page and the comments, someone last saw him on SB on February 6th this year, so he's still alive. He's just not been on this site since nearly a year ago.

Most quests are lucky if they get to keep going after losing a QM this one has been though three I think it might be time to let it rest in peace.

Actually while Hoyr hasn't been on SV in almost a year (just three days off) he also hasn't been on SB since February 8th or about eight months. So it seems Hoyr has just dropped off the SB/SV train.

Huh, so they managed to catch him just before he stopped going. Did his profile on SB ever say anything about why he stopped or no? Maybe someone can ask around on the SB side? I'd ask myself, but I've never seen him around or know where he frequented.

Indeed. Someone already found his Facebook and it seems Hoyr is still active. He's just lost interest in us.

Yeah, like the guy I quoted said, he's alive, just there's no real way to contact him without breaching his privacy really.

If someone wants to take over, it's probably going to have to be a remake/reboot/total AU. And if anyone ever does, they should leave a message/link here in case @Hoyr ever does come back.

To be honest, I'm surprised he didn't delete his account, if he lost interest in SB/SV like Zen has/is doing right now...

And don't forget - Geth are not stupid. They likely have been taking advantage of all computing technology we have been developing, both hardware and software.
Also geth tech tends to go in divergent directions due to them preferring to figure out first principles rather than surface level reverse engineering.

in canon, Geth refused Reaper tech, though the consensus was not unanimus. It seems the non-heretics(what a loaded label THAT is) prefer to develop their own technology rather than borrow from other species.

I don't think the label is so much loaded as it is evocative. It tells you something about the Geth that they consider what the Heretics did to be, well, heretical, instead of merely illegal or unethical.
My interpretation is that it's about consensus. The Geth are all abut consensus. IIRC, there are thousands of Geth programs on even a single physical platform; if those programs weren't willing to obey the will of the consensus, even when they personally disagree, then Legion would look like he has the worst case of cerebral palsy ever. The Heretic Geth are thus heretical, not because they took the Reaper offer, but because they defied the will of the majority to do so.

no afaik Legion was unique in that it had over 1000 runtimes on the platform so that it could maintain it's intelligence while operating away from Geth territory. most platforms only had one or a handful of runtimes at most

Still - it is the case for Legion himself, so my point stands.

I'm sorry for this shot of false hope everyone, but it's been over 9 months since this thread's seen any activity. I've finally given up hope that Hoyr will miraculously return to gift us with an update. It's such a shame to see a great quest die, after having survived 3 different QM transitions. So I'd like to make a desperate call today; is there anyone willing take up the mantle of QM, and continue Shepard Quest? Guide Revy on her Quest for Knowledge, her fight against the Long Night?

If nothing else, I'd like for this quest to have a closure.

I will like for the quest to be revived as well. I checked @Hoyr Facebook account and he has not been active for a long time. He has been inactive since 2016. I even messaged him a few months ago but he has not responded.

Edit:
It would be great if anyone is willing to revive this quest.
