The Mordin Solus plan:
[X] Hire him

Mordin could be a great Research Hero and while keeping him close increases the risk of data leaks it also increases the chance of gaining his loyalty. That and a good review from him to the STG will likely go to their government making approval from the Salarian Councilor on things like AI more likely. Might even get us contracts from them.

However I don't think the Salarian/Krogan thing will end well or even just tolerably bad. I left out the stipends and exchange programs because both are done as a method to encourage graduates to come work for a company and right now we don't want any, non-research Heros, working for our R&D program.

Litinana deal: (Because negotiations are complicated fell free to discuss things with the GM)
Offer
[X] Advanced Research VI
For
[X] Developing something (RP/turn)

Giving the Tactical VI away is probably a bad idea since while they are a government and hence likely not counted as "civilian" the Alliance did want us to keep a close eye on that. Advanced Research VI will cut back on our research advantage but we're already making tons of money and want the galaxy in general to be better teched so that isn't really a problem.

Improved Intelligence Algorithms however are a big deal:
[]Improved Intelligence algorithms (400) Improving the most basic building blocks of your VIs allows you to make all of them better in everyway. (Doubles Security and Research VI bonuses, upgrades Fire Control VI to Tactical VI, which allows suit independent operation.)

Let's think about that for a second. It makes Security and Resaerch VI twice as effective which is a massive jump. It also makes turning almost anything into an automated drone easy. For people who use bioweapons as their primary method of offense and defense automated drones would be a big deal. Imagine ships programmed to suicide run into a planet to disperse a bioweapon across it. Or even just the advances to missile guidance making them more likely to get past the PDLs.

Hence why I offered Research assistance for Research assistance .

Tell the SA Navy of any of your Tech Plans?
[X] Sure (what?)
--[X] Communications, long range and impossible to intercept
--[X] Logistics, i.e. working on how long the ships can serve without entering port
--[X] Stealth
[X] Ask them what they want in terms of qualitative developments. What advantages would they desire most? What is the biggest game changer?

These are probably the biggest game changers. Long range lasers are a game changer but these are the really big things.

Jelica Eveliina: Company/+4, Biotic Specialist (+1 to Biotic units), Mobility Master (+2 to highly mobile units)
[X] Hire her

I am slightly suspicious of her but she's not in a particularly dangerous place.

Should we start employing aliens on a more general level?
[X] Yes
--[x] Absolutely bring in non-humans to the marketing, legal, and HR departments. We are already selling products in Citadel space, and will increase that exposure as manufacturing capabilities increase, so we need non-human expertise in those areas already. Expand the applicant pool for ParSec to include Citadel races as well, but have HR be extra careful with background checks here.
--[x] For now, do not hire non-humans in R&D or on-site security. We don't need the political headaches this will cause with anti-alien factions just yet.

I'm not entirely sold on having them in the same complex as our R&D stuff but hopefully our security should be enough to keep any spies from sneaking something into our labs or onto our researchers.

Interested?
[X] Total Ownership CCI

We don't have the cash for DSB, yet, and total ownership is easier and simpler all around.

Do you wish to take any of these jobs? (You have 25 teams and a Tiger)
[X] Keep forces at home for training/other jobs (How many)
-[X] All teams. Get them familiar with working together, and working with our technology.

I'm really tempted to send a team to Anhur but we don't quite have all the gear I'd want to send them with yet. If the contract is still open next quarter or even partway into this quarter I'll definitely go for it.

Greetings.
I'm new to this quest but have been following it enthusiastically.
I have a question: Why do we want to buy a construction firm. I mean yes we're buildung a lot of factories and other stuff, but we can do that by hiring already existing firms.
What specific advantage do we gain by buying our own that outweighs the costs of aquisition?
Because even if we own such a Company we still have to pay for materials and lobour.

Because this firm employs the former General Williams! AKA, the man who lead the defense of shaxni.

Oh I missed that somehow. I suppose his experience with holding defenses against numerically superior forces would come in handy.

The Turians respect capable commanders.
Would they respect Williams?
He held them back for a long time with them having pretty much every advantage except knowledge of the land, but he did end up surrendering.
I'm not sure which side the Turians would think more important.
Of course the fact that he surrendered to keep his troops alive might actually be a positive for them.

IIRC the general turian held opinion on Williams is 'pretty damn good general.' Especially because he surrendered when it became clear that further combat would only make the situation worse.

Noone on planet knew when, or even if, the Alliance would send reinforcements for Shanxi.

Some good points. *hmm*
May I know if you have a point against asking the asari comando for biotic training?

So, couple of questions:
1) Why not ask Alliance what they actually want to see in their ships?
2) Why not start the Atlantis project or at least some sort of construction project? We need to expand to Earth at some point, and it would mollify Terra Firma, which is good, given how we are going to be employing aliens more now.
3) You make good points about Litinana, but, consider that they aren't "normal" - I'm not sure if their bioweapons are actually products of technological development, for example. With advanced algorithms we can ask for much more.

Surrendering was the right decision militarily, but the wrong one politically. Turians would mostly respect that choice. Human politicians who needed someone to blame for losing an entire damn planet to an alien invasion force did not.

Hey, how difficult would it be for us to build a Stanford Torus or an O'Neil Cylinder?

Also a Bernal Sphere.

You can build stations with the largest dimension being ~5-10km as is. (Expensive! Maybe around a nice trillion credits and 6+ quarters to build)

There are three techs for even larger stations up to orbital rings. (Increasingly Expensive).

Other than that you can make it be any shape you like as long as it physically reasonable.

I've been trying to include him when relevant. I just haven't had much reason too so far. There's an omake I consider canon about them interacting as well.

Okay then well here it goes. Its Walter. Walter Shepard. Huh nothing exploded... good.

If I remember correctly he's stated to be a tinkerer. So perhaps some father/daughter bonding seeing what they can build with an arc reactor and a box of scraps? Envisioning a hotrod/snub fighter.

Any one good with Omakes please read Live Free Or Die by John Ringo. Apply space mining 'technique` and its awesome result as a reply to the omake with Obadiah and space mining. Would love if it included Vernon being a total smartass.

Also what would it take to set up a Pinnacle Station like training area for N7?

John Ringo might not be the greatest author, but he has some nice idea. A Troy battlestation might be a great "gate house" for the mass relay.

I just read all the story updates, and, I got to say, this quest is awesome. (Thank you, @Ramble for introducing me to it). Although, I don't even want to touch the spreadsheets.

Yeah, its best to let Uberjjk deal with those.

I think they are an accountant, so it might get hairy if someone touches it...

Or at least that is the impression I got, anyway.

Keep up the good work, any how. Thanks a lot!

Yep also likes/plays WH40K (Edition XX) IIRC. Revy inherited a fair amount of her character from her dad.

Money mostly. It's a space station with a training ground in it. The training ground I have listed is like Pinnacle station.

Welcome! It's a mess I know...

For the spreadsheets most of its formulas and Math. Lets see highlights:
ShepQuest Revised Finance V8:
'Cash At Bank' tab final row 'Closing Cash At Bank' ~= money you haven't spent (yet).
'Product Details' tab = stuff you can build. (How much you can build is in the 'Revised Production' tab.)
'Revised Contracts V2' tab = ongoing deals.
'General Information' tab = Buildings/Stuff you can buy
Shepard Quest - Revy Charsheet = Detailed character sheet, front page has an abbreviated character sheet.
The useful links also contain interesting bits, also there's the tech tree (has be updated with latest techs), and there's a link to the tech plans a few people have made.

IDK the most complicated bits are the spending money, accepting orders and the research bits. The rest is more vote as you will. At least I think they are.
