You know on bodyguards and Thane, we could earn a hell of lot of cred with the Drell and the Hanar if we manage to fix the Kepler's syndrome. Which may extend to getting a team of experienced and expertly trained Drell as part of Levy's bodyguard (whom will be pretty damn loyal)

We would probably only get one. Hanar usually only train/raise one Drell to act as their hands, ears and hands in places where they can't go or perform actions that their bodies aren't suited for.
Revy might get someone like..what's his name? Thane's son? Someone who has been trained but probably not got a 'handler', but either has suffered from Kepler's Syndrome or had a close relative who had.
You have to remember, the Drell 'hand over' their young to the Hanar in honor of the debt they feel they owe the Hanar from saving them from their doomed homeworld.
Pretty hard to top that, you know. Even if we are curing a disease bought about by moving a desert adapted race to an aquatic one.
I wonder if we could fit a miniturised de-humidifer in a hard suit? Cash in on the Drells market....
One thing that comes to me as being quite interesting is that people that was behind the attempt at Levy's life is paying the Shadow Broker to try to keep him from selling the info. Hence why it was so damned expensive.
Marketing could indeed use more personnel. 500,000 credits per quarter more would be nice. And then of course we need ads and other such things! People can't buy what they don't know you have. Having at least a few million to spend on ads would be great.
I'm tempted to say that we need one marketing/design team per civilian product/product category, and sales should raise and lower by a random amount every quarter that is boosted by extra money spent on ads. Thoughts @Hoyr?
...dammit. Should have made those Well-Armed. Any chance we can upgrade the designs and just pay the difference/tack the additional quarter onto the construction times?
I like the prices you have actually. Unless those are meant to be sale prices in which case say half those for production cost? And then calculating production at around 1 production for every ~ 200,000 cr cost?
I think those were meant to be sale price. Sounds good to me; it's a civilian-sector sale so a lower profit margin is expected. The only problem I see is:
You patent the Repulsor with the Systems Alliance. They however, say that you are to make no civilian sales of this technology at the current time. (They also would like it if you didn't sell any IFV lasers or advanced combat VI to civilians either).
Going to the Citadel might be a harder sell this time.
...I put Repulsors in those. Is the SA distinguishing between Repulsors-as-engines vs Repulsors-as-weapons for civilian sales, or are they forbidden regardless?
What happens to excess production on our shipyards? Is it wasted? Goes to Lindsey at her normal rate (260k/prod)? Goes to Lindsey at some different rate?
What "excess production"? After Revy's personal yacht/lab we're putting that shipyard to work building multi-core freighters, so we can mine/settle planets away from the Relay network.
We should Totally sponsor the development of an angelic layer tournament. we have the tech, why not go for it? good way to get people interested in it and using it beyond those that must use it (poor Misaki). More young people get used to it and skilled at using it early in their life, when it's easier for them to learn.
Maybe look to establishing or integrating into an existing e-sports league? We should also consider games where people control space fighters or entire drone fleets with their minds; again, good training and seriously the coolest idea ever!
The original suit is inside Revy's personal lab; if a thief gets in there they'll be looking at far more valuable things than a large, hard to move, obsolete bit of kludged-together power armor.
Oh, and while we're at it, the votes! What will you do about the L2s?
[ ] The L2 implants where in part a government project and thus they should pay.
-[ ] The Sirta/PI partnership will front the money and get the L2 vets treated ASAP, and will repeatedly petition the SA government for reimbursement. It's a win-win-win: we get good PR for being proactive angels of mercy for intervening in the lives of injured vets; we either get paid back by the SA or we get to guilt-trip them for our next big request; and the newly-treated biotic vets will be forever grateful to PI (plus we can get a disproportionate number of ex-military biotics for our PMC)
EAE would like 50 150GW arc-reactors. Then maybe 3-4 per year after that.
[ ] Deal: Deliverable 2174-Q1
-[ ] Don't forget to sell them a maintenance contract on the cores: the catalyst needs to be re-manufactured every ~10 years.
Were is your mansion home anyway?
[ ] In the city limits
-[ ] On a nice bluff overlooking the city.
@Hoyr According to the government estimates what sort of costs are we looking at for upgrading all the L2s, or at least those who want it, to Magi Implants?
Well that depends, full treatment (Including some rehabilitation and stuff) would run ~216 million for all of them. Just sticking a new implant in each would run maybe half that.
I've removed the interest fees from the Finance Doc. I didn't calculate them right and I'm about to go to bed so I'll do the proper calculations tomorrow. In fact I think this might actually cancel out the issue with Shifting Dynamics so we might be able to keep our 35B credit loan.
IIRC the Pert formula should be used. Which I I'm doing my math right mean the final amount due (for 35b) on 2174-Q3 is 36,391,966,927.76 (rounded up). You don't have to pay any of it till then, but you can to cut down on the interest.
@Hoyr also, How expensive are the individual Nural interface headsets? and how expensive would it be for us to setup/sponsor an angelic layer tournament(s)?
The interfaces range a fair bit. The commercial ones that I'm imagining are used for most entertainment uses are fairly cheap. They don't have much connectivity though. There's some sensory input and some motor output, but a large part of the details are handled by and smoothed by a VI. This helps a lot for gaming stuff as it removes the need for the user to be able to do some things. (Can you do a back flip? Fight well? Etc) You could for example have a figurine with more limbs then you do and the VI will act as a translator. I figure you're looking at "expensive" gaming rig prices, maybe into home entertainment system prices.
On the other hand some designs are much more in depth and have more connectivity. The can easily run into the hundreds of thousands.
As for a tournament, well depend one the prize value and any entrance fees etc. I can't imagine the setup cost being much more than a few million though.
Getting an ANI to work with an alien brain wouldn't be trivial, but the data for this already exists and is publicly available so I don't see why with only a little effort it couldn't be done. So he can get the bonus.
I'm tempted to say that we need one marketing/design team per civilian product/product category, and sales should raise and lower by a random amount every quarter that is boosted by extra money spent on ads. Thoughts @Hoyr?
Well the flux in sales was something I was thinking about. I'm really not sure about the number of teams. One per catagory might be okay. It really depend on how much of a pain it is to track stuff.
...I put Repulsors in those. Is the SA distinguishing between Repulsors-as-engines vs Repulsors-as-weapons for civilian sales, or are they forbidden regardless?
It is interesting that the SA has forked out enough cash to replace every Biotic soldier that has an L2, but the government has refused to pay for anyone else.
Ohh forgot to comment here. Its sort of a case of left hand right hand.
The SA Military took some of it's funds and upgraded its troops. There wasn't really an arguing about it. It's a good idea. They had the money and every one on the spending committees involved gave it a nod.
On the other hand paying for the other L2s is the domain of another branch of government. They are debating if they have any responsibility to pay for this they haven't officially chosen one way or another.
SA governemnt is a republic and thus is as monolithic as a beach.
@TheEyes - Might be better to stick the Mansion at the farm then, since we would presumably ultimately want barrier coverage where our parents spend a lot of time...and the thing was technically meant to be their house, wasn't it?
It it weird that my first thought was Revy could probably pull that much money out of her couch cushions?
Considering that our projected profits for just the next quarter are something like a hundred times that, I think it would be worth it for the PR even if we can't get the Alliance to pay us back.
IIRC the Pert formula should be used. Which I I'm doing my math right mean the final amount due (for 35b) on 2174-Q3 is 36,391,966,927.76 (rounded up). You don't have to pay any of it till then, but you can to cut down on the interest.
Subtract the principle and yet get a quarterly interest of 342,919,014cr.
Unfortunately due to it been late last night I mis-read the Finance Doc so this should have no effect on the loan amount we need. So we still need 36B.
A(t) = A*e^(rt)
A(t) = 36,000,000,000*e^(0.039*0.25)
A(t) = 36,000,000,000*e^(0.00975)
A(t) = 36,000,000,000*e^(0.00975)
A(t) = 36,352,716,700cr
I(t) = 36,352,716,700 - 36,000,000,000
I(t) = 352,716,700cr
Well that depends, full treatment (Including some rehabilitation and stuff) would run ~216 million for all of them. Just sticking a new implant in each would run maybe half that.
Since Revy is moving into the realm of being able to choke slam national economies money should probably become more of an abstraction anyway. Politics are where the future is at. Yep.
Damn. Damn. Damn. I hesitate to even ask, but they can't forbid us from using Repulsors internally, can they? Because if they do that too, we're going to have to look very carefully at how many billions we spend on the next SA election cycle (in 3-4 years, trillions), and on whom we spend them. Hell, we probably should anyway: the Repulsor as a reationless super-thruster is more of a game-changer on the civilian side than it is on the military side, and on the military side it promises to revolutionize combat in ways the Arc Reactor alone can only dream about.
But that removes maybe a third of the reason Appia is so awesome, and maybe a fifth of the reason Virgo is awesome. And you're right that it would almost halve the sales price, but it probably wouldn't halve the production price, given all the Arc Reactors, point defenses, armor and shields, quick-packing and quick-unpacking, and onboard medical centers that we are stuffing into these mobile command centers/evacuation bunkers.
Okay, fair enough. We allocated 200 million to buildings, anyway, so we should easily have enough for separate training grounds:
1x Basic Security Measures - 250k
1x Perimeter Sensors Suite - 250k
2x Reconnaissance Drones Set - 2m
1x Advanced Security Measures - 7.5m
4x Ground MA turrets - 20m
1x Admin Building - 10m
1x Legal team
1x Marketing team
160m left to split between Barracks buildings and Academy
This also sort of invites a final ruling on the question of how many people go into a security team. I've put forward my argument in favor of 12-man teams, as they subdivide very well and give us wiggle room for benefits, uniform allowances, equipment maintenance, etc, but I gather you and @UberJJK were sort of assuming 20-man teams all along. Any new thoughts in this area?

-[X] Hire 1 security team to keep the area safe; make sure they have access to the somewhat excessive amounts of ordinance we have lying around in the garage to tinker with, including our "fun-Vee" Tiger.
Frankly I just don't care much about the Mark II right now. Our top three worries are about being able to travel between planets without being ambushed, protect our assets from orbital bombardment or supernova bombs, and keeping the SA from restricting us from bettering humanity in their quest to be short-sighted conservatives; none of that is helped by fully integrating Repulsors into our Legionary suits.
Right now my tech plan has us getting the Mark II in time for 2175-Q1, but frankly if Gaven Dor's shielding techs prove to be interesting and/or inexpensive I'd be willing to kick the can even further down the road.
On the tech tree: Artificial Biotics, pre-req multi-core Eezo drive, which I propose we get in 2174-Q1 Research Actions.
Ooh, that reminds me: I've updated the tech planning document to take Gaven Dor into account. It doesn't amount to much, other than giving us a little more wiggle room, since his research dice amount to approximately 200 RPs per year. I don't know if anyone else plans on putting forward a competing proposal, but I'm very happy with mine. Highlights:
Anti-starship torpedoes next quarter, as a cheap stopgap so we no longer have to worry about cheap space-AKs taking us out.
Multi-core eezo drive 2174-H1, so we can start a shipping company that can get to and from places several times faster than anyone else, and start to wean ourselves off of Mass Relay dependence.
Advanced Xenobiology and QE Comms 2174-H2
Everything we need for asteroid spin-mining (cheap way to get eezo and especially dense rare earths out of larger asteroids) and disintegration refining (relatively straightforward way to digest an entire asteroid down into its component parts) by 2175-H1
The Cabira, launching 2175-H2 with super-stealth and dreadnought alpha-striking lasers
Eternal Youth and Black Hole Guns+Dark Energy warheads 2176-H1, so we can shoot black hole missiles if lasers aren't good enough
Quarian Immune System Restoration, to save Tali's mom from the flu, and Advanced Ship Ammo mods 2176-H2, so we can fire black hole bullets out of our light cruisers' 500m MACs.
I see your gold suit, and raise you STARSHIP-SCALE BLACK HOLE CANNONS.
