They should be full up on WP so that isn't a problem. Also if you don't spend it on the Countermagic you are mad.

This results in a paradox backlash, which is 5d10e7.

Hmm. Depending on the effectiveness of the preceding rolls (and how likely they are to fight back), we might want to consider spending WP to delay the backlash until the end of the scene. The last thing Kessler needs is for his arm to crash or something due to 'Dox. Although... hmm, a 2-3 point backlash should only last a round or two. Hmm.

Presumably it's going to have something to do with the plasma cannon, since epic kung fu throws are purely consensual here.

So...odds that the thing'll overheat or just plain stop working?

Some of them can figure out roughly which part of the roof nearer to the hostiles best to have the pod crash through.

First, Henriette and Mari need to roll countermagic, wherein Henriette is rolling 9d10x7 and Mari is rolling 8d10e7.

Okay. So. Let's talk probabilities.

For Henriette, each dice she has here is worth 0.5 successes (due to the x7). For Mari, each dice is worth 0.4 successes (due to e7). We can assume they both spend 1wp, for two autosucceses (incidentally, this allows us to note that when you're x7, the dice-wp exchange rate is slightly worse). We can expect Henriette to contribute 4.5+1 successes and we can expect Mari to contribute 3.2+1 successes, for an expectation of 7.7 + 2 successes. PE spend is more valuable for Henriette than Mari buying slightly more successes per unit spent.

As this is countermagic, their successes cancel the hostile caster's successes on a 1-1 basis. Surplus successes for them are wasted, insufficient successes mean they're still getting hit (though I note that they're in a primium vehicle and Mari has even more primium in her, so there's a level of successes where everyone else is getting hit for some damage and it's just going ping off them).

If Henriette spends 3 PE and Mari spends 2, that brings their expectations up to 6.0+1 + 4.0+1 for a total expected 10+2 successes.

(This is assuming they're at diff +0 - obviously, if the PE spend reduces diff, it's better value for them)

So, for enhancing Kessler's roll, is it possible to use Spirit to give something a homing effect? Specifically, can we make it so that when we chuck the Verbena she homes in on DJ Cossack's soul?

Also, a Mind effect to help us calculate the trajectory and timing more precisely for our throw.

If we'd had a mind 1 perfect multitasking effect up (pre-existing), it would have let John do things things which are physically capable of being done simultaneously without having to split actions.

So for example jumping through a window while firing a plasma cannon.

Or for instance, throwing a traditionalist while firing a plasma cannon.

But since we don't have a pre-existing effect, at this point it would take too much time to set one up, so we're splitting actions instead.

Wait, I thought we had one from the Zeruel:

"granting drastically accelerated cognitive clockspeed (Time 3). In crisis situations clockspeed can be unlimited (Mind 1/Time 4) to effectively allow infinite thinking time."

The Zeruel's benefit is that Kessler can take mental actions at a drastically accelerated rate, leading to the hilarity of using an Ability to enhance his Procedure that enhances his Ability. Enhance-ception. It's not a standard multiple action effect, because this way it lets you get lots and lots of mental actions rather than maybe 2 or 3, and that's more useful for a leader.

The effect of the Time 3 boost (it should be Time 3/Mind 1) is effectively lowering the time it takes for a mental action by 1 step. This means that for Kessler, mental actions which would normally take an action become reflexive actions, while scene-long mental actions take 1 action to enact. This is, shall we say, possibly more powerful than standard Time 3 acceleration if used right, especially because it is passive and totally coincidental.

Unless you're like, in some sort of super anti-intellectual land where being smart is vulgar.
