Father Orsino knows spirits. Christos is a master of them. Together, they can force this creature into its true form - not the smiling man, but the bloated leech underneath it, cutting it off from its debtors. Or possibly using them all up to fuel the transformation. Either way, it'll be tougher and more powerful like that, but it'll change this from a social fight into a physical one.

We've got a couple of Prime/Spirit mages here. Orsino has Prime 4 and the flows are sending power to al-Saud here.

He reveals the archangel possessing him to his flock-and they realize that God's calling is for them to become martyrs, changing the Resonance of the Prime Energy they're supplying from something like Pleading/Begging/Survivor to Martyr/Holy/etc- something that al-Saud can't use to sustain his life. As a spirit stuck in a certain paradigm where everything has value, and forced to confront Quintessence which is literally beyond valuation-he might not be able to use it, period.

If people can figure out how Serafina and Christos can help, that's 2 extra autosuccesses.

Serafina keeps his body running with bio-stuffs? Not sure about Christos.

We did give him that self repair augment, so let's have it pay off. And yeah, we can put him in one of the vehicles. Actually, could he use Spirit to enhance his piloting by rousing the spirit of the vehicle? Since Henriette is right here, the spirit of the VGV-3 would be inclined to protect her.

Wwwweeeeell. Euthanatoi are all about dealing with death yeah? To them death's not necessarily something to be afraid of so much as a tool or an ever present companion. There's a familiarity there. And Cristos has social manipulation listed under his Proficiencies. If he can impart some of that to the congregation (it's unlikely as-Saud would do something as rookie as let the people being BBQ'ed hear them so he'd probably have to co-opt Corr something) he can ablate their fear of dying.

Syndics use of instrumental fear is critical to their character. They hold their doshbooks over everyone's heads and you've got to play along or you won't get any funds. Like, a lot of marketing in general is based around fear. Fear of Not Having That Thing. "That Thing" being, um, in this case the congregation's lives.

So if they were simply not afraid of dying anymore...yeah I could buy that hurting the Syndic. And there's something awfully poetic about facing death without fear ultimately saving everyone's skins.

Also:

The angel can feel the nature of the spirit hiding within this man. It is the progeny of the tainter, of the serpent down below. A child of that monster, from a certain point of view. A slave, from another. Its egg of greed hatched within a man.

(I do kind of love how the Residents are literally parasitic. Legions of Damage Control Agents and Operatives and Shock Corps Commandos are fucking justified.)

Simpler way: he's takfir. Dealt with demons and spirits, sold his soul, and, worse, is an Usurer. Use it as a focus through Orsino to negate his debts in the only way that matters.

Dude took over a Saudi Prince. Punish him for it.

(Might've been easier If Christos Arab friend was here)

So 4 for taking some hits, 2 for Kessler, 2 for William. Since I am a cruel and merciless god, I will not say whether one or both of them is getting hit. So hmm hmm hmm. Someone roll 10d10x7 twice.

"I don't want your soul. The obsession of certain parties about you is… adversely harming our goals. I want all those traits which make you of interest to those parties. I want to buy all that trauma, all that self-hatred, all those things which get in the way of you living that normal life you so desperately want. I wish to purchase your unwanted heritage, your nightmares and those things you hide."

"In exchange, I will offer you comprehensive indemnity and protection from the legitimate Technocratic Union and its agents, assets, and representatives. And a wealthy, comfortable, safe life, with satisfactory replacements. There are people who will pay a lot for those things about you don't want. You want replacements. Everyone wins, yes? Isn't that the core of capitalism?"

As, come on is Bastille selling her out or what. She's weary, not stupid and this deal doesn't really protect her. Of course it does take everything she could protect herself with.

Even if she were to make a deal she should negotiate better terms here. I think she should demand a bit more insurance that she won't come to any harm. Honestly those terms wouldn't even protect her from a BSD who's liable to be hiding near by.

Like say enough to put him into her karmic debt if she is harmed *nudge nudge*. As to why Al-Saud would take it because there is little chance she could come to harm and just think of the leverage he could gain over Blanc, low risk enormous reward.

TLDR Be Alice: spend a wp to make a deal and hoist him on his own petard.

So what you're saying is that we should try bargaining with what is literally a near-Incarnae level spirit of greed, corruption, capitalism and debt with the intent of gouging him in the deal and avoiding any fine print or sneaky clauses or loopholes it puts into the terms.

I suppose that after that, you want to go and backhack the Anathema, and then maybe hunt down a Transhuman and try attacking it biologically? Oh, oh, and then maybe we could try using a convoluted and intricate plot to take down a Special Agent!

TL,DR: That's a fucking moronic idea that ignorantly tries to attack a spirit of capitalism, deal-making and debt in its specific area of focus, power and expertise, what the fuck are you thinking you numbskull?

It's a perfectly good distraction?

Well, if each life is worth =<$9m, presumably you could buy their debts out even by mundane means, by way of bank transfer over smartphone.

Then just kill him before he can enjoy his sudden windfall.

Of course, that depends on how many of them there are... Quite possibly too many to pay for. Unless we pay by cheque and kill him before it bounces, at least.

I'll switch to Kessler too, as he's a better thematic target. Working while half-blown away is very Kessler.

Uuuh, not sure how it works, but I think it'd be....Entropy/Spirit/Corr(?) modified by Int+Lore or Int+Occult or the equivalent. Use the fact that he's willingly and knowingly committing Riba and consorting with spirits while claiming he's done nothing wrong to label him Takfir, making him Kafir and meaning that debts are no longer owed to him under Sharia law. Which he is subject to on account of being a Wahhabi Saudi Prince.

Don't know how mage works so @EarthScorpion or @MJ12 Commando should double check this shit.

Edit: Yeah, OK, we're making this happen.

[X] Christos reveals that he was a licensed Qadi/Mufti at some point, declares that the debts are null and void under Sharia law. The Prince is A) Consorting with Jinn/Majnun, B) Profaning the house of god, and worst, C) Practicing Riba without acknowledging that this is a dire sin. This is enough to declare him Takfir. In addition, his economic contracts are void under Sharia as they are based on Riba, and as such are no longer valid.

His contracts are gone and he's a valid target for those faithful to god.

Entropy 5/whatever spheres are valid augmented by Int+Lore, probably.

And the day is saved thanks to Sharia law and a load of brown people!

In other news: the entire GOP suffers enough cognitive dissonance to count as Paradox backlash. :V

That cheque wouldn't just bounce, it would jackknife away from the ground so hard it would cause a sonic boom and probably leave a crater the size of London under it in its wake.

Also hee.

[x] Serafina doesn't know a darn thing about how EDE's work, but she knows how Primal Energy and the human body interact in detail and an awful lot about parasites as well. She's got a pretty good idea of what he's doing with his debtors, and she knows how to screw it up beautifully.
Correspondence/Life/Prime rote to fuck with his ability to properly maintain connections with his debtors.

Well I was thinking of it mostly of a way to buy time, a way to let it's nature as a spirit of greed cloud it's judgement at a crucial moment, and allow for an thematicly appropriate resident defeated by underestimating human selflessness option.

There is the fact that the characters will have to cheat it somehow otherwise they're just going to have to brute force the situation, and that would likely take longer than they have.

Also it was an alternate option to absolutely everyone simply saying spend the wp to refuse.

Though you certainly do make the suggestion sound terrible.
