Kiritsugu will probably ask about all the strings attacked. In that case we insist about retaining free will and the lack of magical biddings. Because, technically, Torment doesn't force you to do anything...as long as you can endure it.

He might not. He is at the ultimate low point of his life: Wife dead, city burning, hundreds if not thousands dead, all if which is his fault. Plus he's had his entire philosophy and way of life torn to shreds by All-The-Worlds-Evils so it's understandable if he's not thinking straight at the moment. Most people wouldn't think twice about it. But it's Kiritsugu so he might.

No. Bad. No false deals. Kiritsugu despises past heroes and the romanticization of violence. He looks on to past legends, greats spirits, and gods and sees their demons their shadows and their rages.
Going all mythic bullshit and trying to go creators and stuff is not a way to get him to sign on.

When needs to establish more of a rapport. Help him get his true secrets and regrets, earn his trust get Shirou settle and then drop the hook line and sinker. once he can afford to disappear for a week. make a deal emphasizing his free will, power, and above all hyper competence and organizational skills. The ability to convince people to be better and build systems instead of just killing evil. And We needs a bit of time for the sickness to sit in. To inspire doubt in his ability to rescue his daughter.

That's all well and good, but you do realize there's a rather rapid time limit before the Exaltation burns up the FCD currently carrying it right?

I though we had a month and legendary scale skills in bueracracy?

My idea was to coax him into staking shirou get everyhting set up with his yak friends to baby sit shirou then exalt in like week three.

That doesn't sound like Kiri. I mean it sounds like Kiri from the outside and maybe from the remains of his skills but it doesn't soound like the person Kiri is going to want to be, actually is at heart, or will be growing into as person. It sounds taylor made ofr a chacter devolution arc and ultimately doesn't really compliment or build from his dream.

That's the thing, is that people don't always get the shit that suits them best. Kiritsugu might not want the powers to blast someone so hard that they leave a nuclear body outline and their souls exists in excruciating agony for 10,000 years before they're allowed the peace of death, but he favors Malfeas, so that's the kind of toolset he's got. He might not want the charm set that makes him regain rest and sustenance not from eating, but from being physically active and/or murdering people, but he's a Scourge, so that's what he is on a fundamental level.

He can try to not take the charms that permanently alter him mentally often, but primordial charms tend to mostly be permanents; that's what he is, and it's who he'll be if/when he invests further into any of his charmsets.

Eh. No. That's like the opposite of how exaltation and charm internalization is supposed to work in a story. They're supposed to get the shit that maps best to them in a natural way so that the hit the ground running. It doesn't have to be perfect but it has to exist. If it doesn't shit breaks. Infernal charms are part of a mythos and intelligence. You don't grock the flow you get no mojo.

The exaltation goes to the people it's suited to in nature and the Yozi patronize the MC because the MC resonates with them or they like them.

If he get saddled with a power set that utterly violate who he is he'll break.

Charms are just powers they relfect who mc is and the type of person he wish to become and becomes as resonating with the yozi. If Kiritsugu is not a person who hates to deeply he wants to blast them so hard the only thing that remains is his soul as it screech in agony he flat out does not get that charm, cannot use that charm, and will not develop that charm.

Magi may have a trait of autohynpnosis that makes them more flexible about certain things but if you flat out don't resonate it with it doesn't stick. If he's not a Malfeas type of person and reject everyhting that malfeas is Malfeas will not favor him.

It's right there on the tin. Favors Malfeas, has favor of malfeas. The Castes get set patron that you have to deal with and do not need to take more than the least if anything at all. The one you favor is your personal choice.

I mean I can the Ebon Dragon taking interest in Kiri and trying to drag him down into shadow. But I have trouble seeing where he an Malfeas meet up. Save in misery.
