[] Plan: The Wolf Howls for Refitting! v 1.2
-[] [Military] Fill Out Sector Battle Group
--[] Werewolf (0.5/3.5)
-[] [Military] [Construct/Refit] A Fleet - [36 Fleet Points] - [32 FP Banked]
--[] Refit all of our out of date ships. [36 FP]
--[] 8x Chamleon-Class Infiltration Carriers (32 FP)
-[] New Boarders for a New Age

-[] [Voxx Primus] A press-gang of this sort is neither subtle nor fast. Indeed, it is painfully slow, an ongoing years' long nightmare, especially as they run through unhealthy, sick people with impunity and then make more. Now is the time to begin infiltration, using carefully picked, healthy, strong, and Faithful volunteers to be "press ganged" to build the ships, operate them, and perhaps even serve as the troops they might think necessary to face whatever nonsense is the cause of this. These hand-picked agents are to be trained by our best people, both spies and preachers, to focus on gathering information and seeing loyalties and moods if they're assigned to a ship, and providing such information: ship types, speed of manufacture, news and scuttlebut and more, to those back home, who can of course pass it along.
--[] Additionally, try to get some people into the local SDF and defense stations... high rank does not matter, and it is not as if the Imperium is a meritocracy anyway. Even a janitor in a Defense Station can learn many things, and the priority should be over slow, thorough infiltration rather than any sort of immediate sabotage or trickery.
--[] If the situation permits, those within the structures can try to convert people, but in the end for these purposes, a live spy is better than a dead martyr, and so caution is to be the watchword and is to be drilled into them.

Added a thing making it *possible* for conversions to happen, but emphasizing that, like, getting caught is the worst possible thing.

this gets Werewolf at 1.5/3.5, and so if we desperately need to we can spend two actions next turn to get to 3.5 and get the third SBG. It gets all the refitting, gives us a bunch of new Carriers, and next turn we can do the Nutrients (getting us to Research .95), this turn is another, "Advantage to our attack/defense."
Sounds like a good plan honestly. Hell, we might be able to just do one action on Werewolf and do another fleet build action to fill out our scouting force next turn plus get started on a siege division/squadron, or do the templar action plus the nutrient paste research.

I really, really want to see. If doubling production actually means creating an SBG (to have two) in one decade then we absolutely need to get a third SBG ASAP.

Like, to be clear, the reason I say "IF" is because, like:

"And tell the Lord of Ships to double the fleet within the decade. And tell him he can scour Hive Arokis, Makarn, and Malicia to get the additional workers he will no doubt demand. ...oh, and get me Psyker-Lord Shem Al-Abdazzah. After you call for the Inquisition."

This could be a realistic and reasonable demand, or this could be a case where, like almost all projects in reality, let alone the inefficient Imperium, things wind up years and years behind schedule. :V

I see we are in the "Spread across the neighbour's land" stage of espionage. Quite useful. Well I will vote for it. And then after we can get the Nutrient Paste

Though in this case, they might be more achievable because the Duchy relies on shitting out a ton of destroyers and frigates with a couple of light cruisers backing them up. Cobra destroyer's Old-Bitten Design trait is almost certainly a production trait for example.

Of course the thing is our fleet composition would really mess with their escort spam because even before our various upgrades our first carrier could nuke 2 destroyers per flight mission (though admittedly this is if their shields were down):

A Light Cruiser with 2 Bomber Hangars is capable of nuking 2 Destroyers per flight mission-cycle provided they don't have shields. You have pilots on par with Space Marines if you take all the boosting options. It didn't "Fuck Us," it made you better at X at the cost of Y. Leaving plenty of weapon choices in the meanwhile.

So we could rapidly deplete an equivalent Duchy fleet of firepower.

I can't remember if it was you was on about it and later agreed with me it would be best to ask first and if it was then great we just tow those stations to their new place.
That was me. I still like the Defense Stations, I just want them at the Echish chokepoint and I see it as secondary after making sure we have enough SBGs. Hopefully I come across as engaging with your idea and not crapping on it.

On the flip side, we could plan to attack immediately when they discover us. Spring Voxx once they've committed their current fleet to Sira blindly and get kicked in the ass by three SBGs. Then we raid deep into the heart of the duchy, destroying fleets and infrastructure that's not ready for an attack from our direction. We might even be able to pull off a decap strike and nail their capitol, throwing them into turmoil.
I personally see this as a big risk to both overextend our forces and be surrounded, and making Van Zandt go from Massively Pissed Off about Voxx to go Total War for Survival mode. They might occupy several more sectors than Breskal*. That's why I favor a defensive chokepoint at Eshich system.

edit: They might occupy several more sectors than Breskal.... and they could build enough weight of ships to overwhelm us and we can't see their capital, or our scouting is so crap we will have no idea until we're right next to it.

They Definitely hold multiple sub-sectors, we have a map of Breskal and we still haven't found their capital system.

Works for me! Build up the military, in preparation. We do need to go hard on the Voxx humanitarian prep soon. I'm not super-convinced about the boarding craft action, but it's something to grab eventually I suppose.

If we get Research to .95 (so another Research next turn), then we'll be able to do this in a single action:

-[] Hive Agriculture Expanded (0/2)
(Gain: Further improve Hive nutrition production through various means.)

I have more in depth reasoning for the plan in my earlier posts.

Overall I think we need to be more efficient with our Navy actions, focus on building ships instead of upgrading them, and dedicate more actions to our other priorities.

[X]Plan: SBG, Militarize and Start Voxx Research
-[][Military] Fill Out Sector Battle Group
--[] Werewolf (0.5/3.5)
-[] [Military] Militarize The Schools Of Paladins
-[][General] Research:

-[] The Laurent's Voxx Primus Write In

Let me introduce you to the Deep Warp.
This sounds so dumb and chunni that I could totally see this being legit and GW rolling with it. maybe calling it the Super Warp or something.

Yah, I forgot who asked, sorry about that. I did want to ask and was going to go off of the QM's response and since we can't move or tow the defense stations. That's not gonna happen like we hoped it would. Shame but oh well, I just see it as a cheap alternative to spend one or two actions to stall and buy more time for us while we build up elsewhere instead of using the actions for the 4 action fleets.

-[X] Write in- Begin the construction of Orbital Defenses around the Ultima Sagritta System. Focus should be on what can support each other and not to overextend, Planning of the Defense Stations should take into account the presence of at least one Sector Battle Group stationed in orbit around Ultima Sagritta for the foreseeable future. If there is time and room left in the budget Ground Base Anti-Orbital batteries should be built. Future expansion will focus on the further depth of the defenses and ability to base, supply, refit, repair, and service a Sector Battle Group in full at the system.

I will admit, I'm darkly interested in seeing how our first proper Fleet Action is going to look like when they decide to take a swing at us. Our previous battles have mostly just been stacking the deck or punching distracted foes. This'll be our first pitched battle against a proper peer, I think.

I've said why I think we need Nutri-Paste today rather than ten years from now, and I stand by it.

You know what I'm hyped about?

Libra-Quartus (Libra-Q) Light Carrier
-Length - 4.200m
-Width - 550m
-Acceleration - 5 Gravities
-Armor - Medium Double Hull
-Shields - One Matrix
-Weapons -2x Medium Bomber Hangars/1x Medium Fighter Hangar/1x Medium Mixed Hangar/Anti-Voidcraft Defenses (Total: 60 Bombers and 84 Fighters)
-Equipment - Strict Pilot Training/Veteran Pilot Gene-Lines/Handpicked Pilots/Automated Fighter Re-Arming Procedures/Armored Lifepods/Superior Gravimetric Engine Calculations/Ship Shrines/Veteran Crews/Enhanced Strategeum/Tiny On-Board Manufactory

Finally. FINALLY seeing these in action. The story that unlocked those happened three hundred years ago, and the circumstances that triggered it no longer hold true. We have experienced, well trained commanders, with with the facilities to properly command a fleet action. It's going to be great.

Yeah, the entire point is basically to give the Libra-Qs the Galactica CIC for when they're shitting out swarms of strike craft to wreck faces with.

@HeroCooky does our 1 Lupus mine layer have any effect at Sagrita Ultima? How many mine layers would we need to make a useful mine field against other fleets?
It's been going at it for decades, so it has a trivial impact by now...what? It's one ship.

Also, somewhere around ~30 Lupus, or ~10 dedicated Designs for minelaying.
@HeroCooky Songs are Planetary in effect, right? So would a Combat song be able to destroy say, the Voxx Primus void fortifications?
You don't know. Make one and see what happens.
