If people want they can join the republic but I don't have any intentions of ever forcing it on a peoples.

I ate something that disagreed with me, so update will be delayed. Voting remains open for another hour or so.

Do we have a blood tax or something of the sort to help out our large (and likely to grow) vampire population? Afaik that was one of the reasons Sylvanians tended to like vampires, since blood is easier to part with then money from an income tax or something of the sort

You tend raven flocks. Raven blood works as a human substitute because ravens are sapient.

Magical Panoply: Sinfi – 2 dice
Magical Panoply: Moti – 2 dice

Moti makes a number of purchases with the resources he is given. The merchants grow fat on the price of materials and reagents. In the early months of the year, when snow covers the ground, Moti works on the forge, creating talismans of protection and endurance. Rings, woven with enchantments to deflect harm and death.

Alas, magic is fickle, and one of the rings is far more powerful than the other. Moti gives his sister the first choice of ring. Sinfi, knowing she was the better warrior, picks the weaker talisman that her brother would be better protected on the battlefield.

(Moti gains 4+ Ward Save, Sinfi gains 5+ Ward Save)

Construct Watchtower towards Johann's Coalition – 1 die
Scout surroundings – 1 die

Ezio had taken Leo under his wing. The kid was fresh off the farm having decided to join the company, hadn't even seen a fight yet. Last night he had calmed the boy down by bragging about all the men he had killed and the women he'd fucked as the two of them threw rocks at bats. According to the captain they were up against some local militia, and none of those could stand up to a real Tilean pikeblock.

Morning had dawned bright and early as they formed up to march on a watchtower that was in the middle of being built. Ezio knew something was wrong as soon as they came into sight of it. The builders or militia or whatever had formed up into a pikeblock of their own, and was moving to meet them. They moved in unison, like a well drilled company.

It wasn't until they closed in and got to grips with each other that Ezio realized the truth! They had been lied to, this wasn't a militia, this was an army of the living dead! Still, a pike to the ribs seemed to put them down as well as a man, so he soldiered on even as men fell around him. Then he felt a tugging on his leg. He looked down and saw Leonardo, his chest a bloody mess and eyes blank, reaching up to pull him down into hell with him! He screamed as his nerve broke, and his formation collapsed into a rout.

Did we overcompensate? It sounds like they fought literally one legion, and broke all without our heroes even really having to do anything or our watch towers even being completed.

BTW @Aranfan I notice we have lore of Vampires and Lore of Beasts as spells, does that mean we could teach amber mages safely, or is that just a 'I ate too many animals' buff/curse which we have no way to replicate for normal human wzards?

Yeah, skeletal legions have a very large advantage over mercenary armies in that they have no morale to break while causing large morale debuffs on unprepared opponents. Add in two super powered vampires rampaging through their lines and we should be able to make them rout no problem.

Halomik is really old and is actually pretty decent at all seven of the non-jade winds, just from sheer experience. He's best at Necromancy and Amber magic tho. As for teaching tho, he certainly isn't that great compared to the Empire's Colleges.

If you want to try teaching amber wizards... I guess you could try? It's not likely to be as smooth as teaching necromancy tho. I'll think of the conditions that might lead to that action getting unlocked.

Is this backwards or do I not understand how ward saves work?

The way ward saves work on the tabletop, which is what I am using, is that you make your save on a d6 rolle of # or higher. Symbolized as #+. So 4+ makes the save half the time, 5+ makes the save a third of the time.

There are things which non necromancy lores can do which necromancy cannot. Not saying we should do it soon. Necromancy is far more low hanging fruit, but once we have that down we might want to look into the other lores, either amber to make use of his skill or death magic for its kinship with necromancy, they synergize quite well on the battlefield.

That reminds me, everyone who knows necromancy also knows shyish, so I should edit that in. Halomik isn't quite at the level of battlewizard for Shyish tho.
