No. Because they don't move the sun/moon, they change between day and night in their land because the natural laws were so heavily damaged. Possibly by them in the course of fighting Discord, exacerbating the prior damage from his goofing around.
so it's basically all a giant illusion? Do the Equestrians even
know that outside of their country the day-night cycle works normally?
on the edge of a tundra whose ice cream has melted and rotted away after the imposition of continually freezing temperatures faded
...what would a melted-ice-cream-covered
tundra even do to the local ecosystem?!

I'm gonna go with high centralization, but it's a weak preference.
This is intentional, as when the towns were founded language was still very basic for the Dromaeid. Unlike the other races which at least had some prior history. This is also why the government forms are so basic compared to the Minotaur Republic, for example.
Of course, at the same time there are fewer crises taking up your attention due to how small your reach is right now.
it's kinda like if we started playing the Diamond Dogs in Gryphus in the previous quest, really. Except even smaller and weaker (but at least not affected by rabies)
And the Zebras are the gryphon equivalent instead.
Efficient, I like it let's keep it.
To the horror of our neighbors, dead meet is food.
if they don't want to be eaten they shouldn't get into conflict with us!
or, you know, make a diplomatic deal to get the bodies back, I suppose.
Dinos and Zebras, one uses the magic above in the sky, the other uses the magic below in the plants and animals. ironic
Maybe we can pull a reverse Gryphus and conquer them eventually!
Lol we are going to need so many new terms. Dromaeids won't be in the business of bread making. Or baking. Everything will be all about preparing different kinds of animal products. The opposite of vegans. Maybe Meatmarket?
they might still farm a few plants, but it would probably be for spices/seasoning.
Think spicy peppers, for example. Or, admittedly, medical herbs.
or, if we go for animal husbandry, feed for the animals.
