What is Fate? (Percy Jackson and the Olympians Quest)

Honestly, I wouldn't have known the GM switched things on us outside of being told.

The quest the three were on was starting to drag on anyways. Most importantly though between this never updating again and the GM changing the choice, I'd go with the changed choice. It wasn't even a case of the GM offering an option they didn't want to write, it comes off as a case of the GM needing to change something to regain the creative spark.

This abduction also presents a good time in the story for a power up. I think it's time to spend the Omake points. What sort of development would be immediately beneficial to Sam right now, guys? @Tjakari

We talked about Purity and Time earlier on. We need something that equips us to deal with whatever Persephone or the underworld throws at us.

@Nachtigall

Hmm.. Agreed. There might be a lack of plant life depending on what kind of underworld it is. Any other esoteric power suggestion that could give us an edge against Persephone or monsters? If there's a mutual agreement I'd be happy to spend my five points on Dirt manipulation. It should bump us from Untrained to Apprentice. Or should we wait for a perspective switch to Sam before committing to anything?

If we ever want to use a 'deep forest emergence' style attack any time soon, or some sort of wood golem down the road, it'd be best to work on durability and speed almost exclusively, with a dash of size.

As to why I went against the votes, it's primarily because this way is faster and I'm trying to move things along. Sorry :/

Seeing as everybody got out their opinions on this on the day the quest came back, I'll keep my thoughts to myself.
Nice to have the quest back, now I need to refresh myself on what's going on.
"Neither paths seem great, but I just want to get this done with."

Is this your private feelings on reviving the quest?

Probably the 5 xp to get basic earth control, considering that we're going to be underground.

Yeah, something more practical is probably the best route we can go now that we're going subterranean. Anything that can possibly make for a defense is priority.

I honestly don't know. The thought of using purity on any plant we find to make it edible crossed my mind, but I'm sure it doesn't work that way and that'll just end up getting us stuck.

@Monk Penguin

Do we have all the wheat seeds or does Kurt?

[X][Perspective] Blossom

However reasonable or not reasonable the whole "changed the vote cause it smooths things out" thing is, I'd rather Blossom be our POV so that if we're in control of anyone's choices, it will be her. We might not have any actions period, but on the off-chance we do, I'd rather we be Blossom given how desperate and physically wiped out she's getting.

I trust Kurt, Kurt will do his best whatever he does. But Blossom is a balancing act and she could end up dead depending on what she does.

PS: @_brightwing & @Nachtigall
Do you think I should dump all 7 of my points into earth manipulation or split that up into some other places to? (+5 to earth manipulation, then +1's to some other concepts just to get us started)
The way Monk's system works, (I think) takes into account how far along in a particular skill you are not just whether it's untrained level et cetera. So I'm thinking a dump might be best.

Blossom has been the constant underdog and getting her Pov would be a good way to get her to develop and get stronger. Her charmed voice would defintely be fun to explore too. Moreover it'll be interesting to get a glimpse in her head, see her thoughts on Sam.

@Tjakari I'm already putting my five on Earth.. Since you have more, you could split them with half on Earth and the rest unlocking other things. Versatility is powerful on it's own right too.

Alright then @Monk Penguin unless one of those aren't allowed.

+4 EXP to Edafokinesis
+1 EXP to The Concept of Time
+1 EXP to The Concept of Light
+1 EXP to The Concept of Life

I thought about making the last concept death, but that might be counterproductive. It's not exactly our home element, not at the moment anyway.

(Even though it definitely could be, Demeter's just as much a Cthonic Deity as any of the others, she's just not portrayed that way most of the time)

Interesting choices! They kinda have thematic connection to the underworld too. I'm really excited to see how the power up translates story-wise.

@Monk Penguin I'll go with:
+5 EXP to Edafokinesis

It's so interesting to think how these powers might also mesh with plant magic. I can't wait to Sam getting started on those Plant golems.. Or maybe even proto-dryads?
