none of the martial arts actually drew me in (and considering i took one of them thats saying something) so plants, soccer (i played this, i can assure you that itll be a big help), and of course survival skills are all to necessary.

There may be more to the concept of growth; maybe it is our Origin like in Fate/Stay Night ? We could learn to grow our intelligence, strength, endurance...
The martial arts are designed to fight human opponents, their effectiveness against monsters might be dubious at best. That is even more so considering our age, small reach and current strength. Chlorokinesis is the key to survival.
Dad must teach us how to survive on our own; who knows what could happen to him. We could find ourselves alone any time.

I think that we're underselling the importance of knowing Martial Arts, not only could it help with humanoid monsters but also against other humans or demigods.

[X][Training?] Your dad knows how to shoot a gun, maybe you should start taking gun safety courses so you can have one as well.

Guns are shown to be devestating in the 3rd book if you use the right amunition.

For the love all that is holy don't even talk about the monstrosity that was that helicopter.
Celestial bronze is so rare that daggers and arrows are horded like gold and guarded even more jealously. Somehow the mortal finds some dispute not even g clear sighted and then promptly casts on the the single most precious nettles on earth into single use bullets.
The sheer waste is horrific.

Please in the name of sanity fo not try and make celestial guns. It was retarded then and it still is now.

I feel like Skipping Grades would be great for increasing our Skill in Mathematics, Fundamental Sciences, Mundane History, but I don't hold those to be very important in the scheme of things as a Demigod. Plus, at 0/50 and only rising 5-10 in a skill each time, it'd take a while to get anywhere and I doubt we'd be able to raise all 3 Skills at the same time (basically, we could raise some of them, but not all 3 so it'd take even longer). I'd rather stick with our grade and cruise through second grade and just focus on our non-school activities.

@Monk Penguin , could you give a comment on what happen if we choose either Skipping or Staying? I mean, on the other votes we know which skills would go up and so what would increase if we picked either option? Would we get more activities if we weren't moved up the grades and having to do more fitting schoolwork for us (which means they'll be more difficult and take more time) or will they take the same amount of effort because they having trouble placing us that well right off the bat (ie, will both options take the same amount of time like it's currently planned) or will something else happen? And how long with this turn last (ie, months, a year, more)?

I think we can use martial arts against monster just fine, not all and not against the beastial-monsters but humanoid monsters should be workable. I mean, first off there's so many humanoid/human-like monsters. Admittedly, there are few who are exactly like humans (they usually have monster bits too) or exactly the same size (generally they're larger). But there are plenty of human-like monsters that martial arts could be used against and even if they're larger it doesn't guarantee that they'll be so different (for example, a child fighting an adult isn't that different as a teen fighting a giant and ushc). And, even if the martial arts don't fit perfectly, it's a good way to learn how to fight, exercise physically, and if the Titan War happens we'll have another way to fight demihumans too.

And we've so many choices this turn...

Pick 3 to focus on for the next few years.

Does anyone know the difference between the Martial Arts? I mean, which would be most useful in a fight, because I don't know martial arts that well.

Chlorokinesis has been very useful, especially as we're a child and are innately disadvantaged physically. Right now, it's sort of our bread and butter.

Reading up on Greek Legends would be really useful, as we know we'll be using this in the future.

Joining a sports team sounds pretty nice. It looks like it might get us a Athleticism skill (which would be useful) and possibly raise our Social from participating and hanging out with a team (which I like).

The Concept of Growth is our special and unique ability, if I understand this right. Would be great to get better and increase our skill.

Survival is definitely something we want to learn. I mean, just look at poor Percy, he got stuck traveling across the country so many times. Plus, our Dad is a Park Ranger, would be good to hang out and learn about Survival and forestry and such.

Uh, idk how useful a gun would be. I do know any mortals around would take the gun away since we're a child and that if we used it we'd get every mortal upset and focused on us as a young child firing a gun. Especially as the Mist wouldn't conceal that we had a gun like it would if we got a celestial bronze weapon (but we don't have one of those either and in fact celestial bronze weapons usually end up looking like guns to mortals through the Mist).

Ok, possibilies! Some swordfighting groups teach how to use a sword! Same with other weapons. We could also learn archery, which isn't a bad idea with Chlorokinesis to bind/restrain monsters, so we don't have to get in melee.

This too on guns. Single use ammunition is not good for extended use. Remember all the times Percy and others went on long quests and fought so long they nearly collapsed at times? Melee weapons are much more reusable and last longer than single use ammo. Plus, I don't know if our Greek Demigod combat senses would work with guns either.

I've always been told that Krav Maga is best for self-Defense and I know my college has the UPD there teaching sessions for it constantly.

These are the most useful for, Martial Arts beginning under KM gives us a grounding and basics in actually fighting. Self-Defense somewhat, both against the more humanoid monsters and the humans that might as well be monsters. Chlorokinesis allows us to further master the power Demeter has and utilize it without being as tired, also, useful way to get food/money as necessary. Then the last one teaches skills that will be utterly necessary as a demigod and a person. Surviving, not only in nature alone but in the cities.

Unlike Imperial gold, celestial bronze seems almost as abundant as iron to Greek demigods, as not only their weapons made out of it, but it seems like almost everything the Greek demigods make is made out of it, using it as a magical alternative to what other metals would normally be used for weapons, though this is justified as it's mined from Olympus which is right above the Empire State Building.

You mean to say that the community consisting of maybe two hundred people at max can use a rare substance and never seem to run out? Shocking. Truly.

Yes, they exist. They are also supremely wasteful.
The paintball gun is exceptionally stupid as the bronze isn't penetrating the skin and thus shouldn't be killing anything.

Yeah as mentioned above dude its mined from Olympus, which they're pretty close to and they can also get some from forge boys tossed out works. they've got a fair supply, not infinite, but enough that with mild watchfulness on it they wont run out unless stuck in a prolonged siege where they have to use a lot of it.

The average demigod doesn't make it to camp half blood and anywhere else on earth it's a rare thing. After all, it is mined on Olympus l, a place where demigods can't travel to except on Invitation.
I suppose the majority if half bloods could also get the bronze via "Amazon" but if they don't know about the camps then I doubt they know about that.

I agree with your earlier points about guns and single use things being a waste of resources, but we should remember that as an si we already know about the camp. If we need the metal we can just go to camp and work from there.

For other demigods that arent us and arent at camp tho? Yeah the stuff is basically a gift from a parent or won from a fight where they got extremely lucky.
