What Happens Next (Slay The Princess/RWBY)

Voting is open
Hi, new to the site, If voting is still open, I vote for the stranger.

Welcome!

I don't tend to use the banner to close vote, but I put a threadmark under the vote category when I do.

When you want to vote, you have to put it like this:

[] Vote you want.

With a x inside the brackets, and making sure that you begin a new line for the vote.

That way, I can simply use the tally the site has to count votes.

I do wonder how exactly the EotN's strength works… I suppose with view relativity and aura the Eye is far 'stronger' then the one Long Quiet ever faced, because the strength of the eye was always relitive to his 'near human' limits imposed on him in the construct. I would not be suprised in the Eye could win any single contest of brute power in remnant, including body slamming a behemoth, but since this is the version that was beaten by LQ she is 'vunerable' to being whisked down by fast and flighty fighters, like Blake and Ren.

You'll see her strength next chapter.

But the short of it is that I consider the Long quiet and the Princess to already reach more than human level in their fights in the construct past the first chapters.

Om that note, does LQ and SM also remember every variation of each route? The 'Gifted' thorn was the kissy route, but there is also the variant of the thorn where she is twice spurned and swallowed the knife. If so, it 'The Princes Cannot Die' variant of the adversary really unreachable? If any other Princess can be reached, a version of that 'ending' seems reasonable too.

Princess can get a feel of every version of every route, Long quiet doesn't know them.

Just like the vessels, the versions you lived through are closer, so have more influence on how a form express herself.

*The Princess cannot die* is not so much unreachable as requiring hoops to jump through.

Basically, the Gift forms + Stella make up the anchors of the way Princess currently self-defines her identity and while she is aware of her other possible configurations she hasn't interalized what they mean enough to be able to utilize those traits reflexively. Is that correct?

Ok I bow to the wisdom of the voters. If we went with Stranger it would've probably been more boring than finishing off Adam like Stella would've done if she picked the Grimm Fang letter.

Oh boy. Grimy Fingers will definitely know what hit them. Whether or not they would be in any condition to tell anyone is another question entirely.
*Cue the sound of falling bowling pins*

Worst case, someone would have to pick up the pieces.

Nah, don't worry, you are going to be gentle... meaning they'll have only to get them down from the surrounding trees after you launched them there with your punches. :V

(This may or may not be true.)

Well, the ones with Aura are easy. Give them a good smack, then don't smack them again. The squishies are harder. How far can a human get launched before something vital breaks? Eye of the Needle might be a bit fuzzy on that one.

Anyway, a lot of the point if this is that while they're all panicking about the giant berserk monster launching a frontal attack, the rest of the teachers can do whatever they want in relative obscurity.

Edit: I also wonder if at some point Eye of the Needle's thinking that dodging is for chumps will result in her aura breaking... and then the Grimm Fang panicking even more as it just makes her even more enthusiastic, because fighting is supposed to hurt and now it does so thanks and have some FIST.

Also bonus points if at some point she picks up one of them and flatly asks how far he can survive being thrown.

Chapter XIV: YOU NEEDED WORTHY OPPONENTS.
[X] The Eye of the Needle. You will have to hold yourself back a lot, but you will be a giant distraction that can't be ignored.

The camp the Grimm fang is currently based in is a flurry of activity when you approach. They clearly know that an attack is coming and are trying to move before forces can be mobilized. Unfortunately for them, Ozpin was ready to ask his teachers to help without having to work through the bureaucracy the police would have needed.

"Remember you two, we are trying to keep as many of them alive as possible. I know a fight can lead to unexpected consequences, but do try." Glynda says to you right before you begin the assault.

You both nod, then Sable gets his pristine blade ready while you take the form of the Eye of the Needle. As soon as you are her, you begin to itch for a fight. You hope those little cultists are stronger than what the reports anticipate, you don't want to get bored. You should make sure right now in fact!

Before Glynda has time to signal the attack, you jump. The first sign of the arrival of Beacon's forces takes the form of you crash landing in the middle of the camp in an explosion of force. You step out of the cloud of dust and shout your challenge:

"Grimm Fang! Send me your best fighters! Show me you are worthy of my time!"

The silence that follows only last for a second, before your other half sweeps a gawking mook in the process of rejoining you while flying. You punch the little target with as little force as you can bother… apparently, they are weaker than you thought, as the poor fellow's aura breaks instantly.

"You were supposed to wait!" Glynda shouts while approaching. She is accompanied by several rocks floating thanks to her Semblance, that she sends at another group of cultists.

"The wait was boring!" Is your answer. You launch yourself at three mooks, maybe giving them the advantage of numbers will help?

Judging by the fact two of them are put down just by you bodychecking them, and that the third is sent flying from a single punch, this doesn't seem to be the case. One of the little people tries to attack you from behind. You don't even bother turning to acknowledge her, and your love stabs her in the back before she even has the time to understand why.

The next minute of fighting is one of the most boring moments of your life. Every hit downs one or more enemies. You get so bored you try some new things to pass the time. Sending someone flying into a complete backflip is a great success, stopping your punch right before hitting to attack with the air pressure only results in the mook fainting in fright, and using only your legs runs into the problem of them actually being stronger than your punches. You stop the last one after the first hit due to breaking some bones in fact. Not yours, of course, those little Faunus are so fragile….

Meanwhile, Sable is seemingly everywhere and nowhere. One second he is helping Glynda not get surrounded by taking the hits with just enough of his true nature out to break the weapons on invisible walls, the next he is making a would-be sniper miss by launching his Pristine blade right into the barrel. Someone tries to exploit his sudden lack of weapon only to see his attack hit thin air and a newly rearmed Sable stabbing at his heart.

During all of this, Glynda is doing a thorough demonstration on why mass aura awakening is not a thing used by the kingdoms. It takes training to strengthen the soul to the point where the increase in strength is not negligible, and thus all of the massed cultists facing her are basic humans for all intent and purposes. Against a civilian, they may be able to look intimidating, but against a veteran, they don't matter.

Then, you see HIM. A man that oozes bloodlust, a man you know can understand your desire to fight. He is tall and muscled, wears a sleeveless top that shows off his tattooed left arm and has what appears to be a chainsaw clutched in his hands.

"You! Fight me!" You bellow at him.

The amount of killing intent you are letting out is enough to have all the little people leave you a great berth all of a sudden. HE, meanwhile, decided to attack you head on like you knew he would.

"Yes. Finally, show me a true fight. Cure the boredom of these weaklings. Come!" You say, high on adrenaline and anticipation.

You remove your protective aura to really feel the hit, put your arm before you to intercept it, and prepare for the glorious fight that will surely follow. The chainsaw reaches you, enters the skin and begins going deeper… and then it breaks. IT BREAKS!!! It doesn't even go past your muscles!

"NO! Give something to hit! Hurt me for real! Show me you're not a weakling too!" You rage, punching him with all your might. He tries to block, but it's not enough. His aura breaks on impact, then the leftover momentum sends him flying. He ends up in the trees around the camp, not moving.

"Ah, that's bad." Sable says, though you do not hear him. Too occupied screaming a challenge to the world.

When you see Adam Taurus begin to approach Glynda, you do not hesitate. In an instant, you are on him, tackling him and following his flight trajectory to get a true one on one. You will not let her steal your fight. Even if you had said you were supposed to only be a support, you do not care. This man has a reputation as a dangerous opponent, you will see with your own eyes if that is true.

Right as you land, he already shows promise. It seems that he blocked your attack with his sword, and the only reason he was still sent flying is the considerable force you put behind it. Despite that, he is unruffled.

"Interesting." He quietly says to himself. Sheathing his sword. He takes a ready stance and you run at him.

Before you finish your approach, he slashes towards you. From one moment to the next, your entire torso is bleeding, his strike going right through your Aura.

"Yes. That's exactly what I wanted." You laugh.

You continue moving towards him, undaunted by the injury. Your punch is stopped by another block by his sword, but before he fully unleashes his next slash, you slap at him with your other hand. The cut goes sideways, toppling the nearest trees. He swiftly rectifies his position and attacks you with a normal sword strike. Your aura stops it, but you can't manage to retaliate.

"What a waste, a powerful Faunus like you working for the sake of the inferior humans." Adam continues speaking, you don't really care.

A legswipe is jumped, then followed by a descending sword cut before you can use the fact he is in the air. Another punch is blocked but the swing that follows doesn't cut much of you, as you had deliberately pulled it to reduce the strength of the counterattack.

"With a body like yours and my intellect, we could have reached the peak I was working towards so much easier."

You are about to grab him when his words register. You stop.

"The peak? What peak are you talking about?" You ask. Something in his words annoying you.

"Of course, the peak of evolution! I'm sure you can already see how Faunus are superior to humans. That's simply because we are closer to perfection." He continues, clearly persuaded you are interested in what he is saying due to your onslaught stopping.

In a way, you are, but you doubt it is in the way he thinks.

"You think you are close to perfect? Is this what you were trying to do, reach perfection?" You continue, contrary to what the Eye is normally, you seem calm, too calm.

"Of course, that's what every living being does. Evolution is the process that brings us closer to perfection. Every moment, every new child, the stronger ones prevail and pull us towards the pinnacle of evolution. Can't you see it? Faunus already have so many advantages compared to humans! We can see in the dark, our offspring always breed true, we are the destined children that will conquer this world." He is preaching now.

This man….

A/N:

No, I am not explaining the vote.

I sincerely believe you are able to at least get some idea of what it is for.

I want to add that what Adam is telling about Evolution is, obviously, false.

Including the *Faunuses always breed true* thing, I know some formerly canon material said that, but it is not really treated as still canon even by the creators now anyway. Plus the fact that if the breeding true was real, there would be no more humans anymore very, very quickly.

Here, Adam thinks that because he has internalized several racists beliefs against Faunus with a narcissistic spin.

Hm. The Beast for irony, The Moment Of Clarity for maximum irony based on her name.

Oooor we show him a drop of evolution's finale.

[X] The Tower

There have been plenty of creatures that are strong, but strength is not what has made men more powerful then beasts. It has been the combination of teamwork and intellect. I want to show Adam the endpoint of his world view.

[X] The Den.
[X] The Beast.

[X] The Den.
There's no other option. The dramatic irony wouldn't let me choose any other option.
Also, The Den princess is incredible cool. It has Wings too. Useful.
[X] The Beast
[X] The Razor
[X] The Tower
