Are you talking about Stella (gonna remember using the name, wouldn't want to forget it) telling her semblance and not understanding what could be read about her from it?
Because, at least as far as strategic consequences go in a fight, you an still pull the card of *are you sure you prepared for everything I can throw at you?* if it comes to that, nothing beat a guy prepared for Eye of the Needle better than suddenly Tower.
I'm talking about our entire conversation which proved that the Stranger needs to be discussed due to it causing disorientation on those that experience its effects, when it is a great teaching tool despite that.

Ah, that, put it as *the only one to ever be subject to it is The Long Quiet*, or in other words *what do you mean mortals don't like being the subject to reality crashing down around them? How fragile.*
Yeah, I thought Nyarky made it clear enough that Stranger's reality breaking isn't that great of a teaching tool. At most we'd get some multitasking out of it, while disorienting the students every time.
Helpful yes, imperative no, you are allowed to keep cards up your sleeves, and if you go for some of the proposed posts, you won't benefit from the Stranger's advantages.
Keep in mind the main opponent they are supposed to fight are creatures of Grimms, not other Huntsmen, and creatures of Grimms don't do the kind of shenanigans the Stranger would do.
Learning to not be disoriented by suddenly having five things happen at once including you suddenly doing five different things simultaneously with five different train of thoughts is not the same thing as learning to take decisions quickly in a chaotic battlefield, it helps, but so can normal training.
Stranger won't increase their normal multitasking, as it uses different set of them to do the different things, it could even create bad habits if they get too accustomed to it.
RWBY doesn't have much powers like the Stranger or in fact any I can think of. Emerald and Neo do illusions, which requires a different set of skill to detect and counter, Yatsuhashi's semblance is not as obvious when it has been used, so on and so forth.
I'd rather tell Glynda something that will give us priority to teach a more specific subject/class. If not the team relationships counseling from Damsel/Thorn, then something like Stealth from Specter.
They said there's a problem with it, but it would work exactly as I postulated it work being great where I said it would excel. That's not saying it sucks, just that like all of the forms there's a problem with using it.
I think a lot of it amounts to slay the princess not being super popular, so the numbers are low. I'm super interested in the concept and you've nailed it in a way I didn't expect. Really captured their personalities well and having the POV character being the Princess was a great idea.
A Problem I keep running into is figuring out exactly what each form can do. I've already figured out four of them. Damsel will suffer in anything related to combat, Eye of the Needle suffers by lacking restraint, Stranger can be disorienting on others when she uses her abilities, Spectres a ghost and will suffer in terms of physical manipulation, The Thorns well.. I'd prefer to get more references for them to be honest because what I imagine is likely not the truth for them.
The Thorn is the only one that I can't determine the negative of the form, because I can't determine the positives of the form. There's two obvious paths to play with her and I'm not sure which one we've followed.

This is only a guess here, but what if the Thorn had some kind of Magic, she is a continuation of the Witch after all. Now i know that the Witch doesn't reallly DO Witchy things...but still. If that isn't a thing i can easily see the Thorn using...well...Thorns, or Brambles more likely. I see it as a weirdly defensive Persona, in many aspects and not all of them from combat.

Yeah I should probably talk about the general tone of the more likely power I had in mind for Thorn, seeing as how you mentioned the other one.
I thought she fit in with a sort of weird power where people she decides to afflict are subsumed by the local plant life as their mind seeks to bond with the life around them, forgetting about their past life until they break the trance. This same bond can be used by her, at the same risk, but it allows her to manipulate the plant life around her as she is subsumed by it.
For the Thorn, look at what her themes in the game are, what is her speech when Shofting mound calls on her?
She isn't about memory, she is about forgiveness and the cycle of violence hurting all the participants.
She never attacks you, the Brambles only acts in self defense to let both the long quiet and her stuck in the process of attacking each other, forever.
If Long quiet leaves or attacks, she instantly goes back to the witch when it comes to her voice, back to being unable to trust.
But if you trust her, you get the one path where you can kiss her. The one path where you can leave the cabin using your mutual love as easily or more than with the Damsel. You trust each other and that makes you powerful.
The Thorn doesn't want to attack anyone, she is hurting herself with her thoughts already.
She wants to forgive, not forget, she has no real reason to have memory powers.
If you want plant life that subsume those around, that would be more The Wild, but they are already complete with the two that were one one once again, even if only for a time.
And the Witch does have some plant powers, her cabin will begin crushing you if you decide to fight her or leave, but since the Witch is about self destruction in paranoia and hate, she ends up crushed with you to become the Wild.
Replayed the entire Thorn path with all possibilities to make sure, there is no part where the Long quiet forget his purpose in the way you say.
I think you are partially conflating things with the Wild, where the Princess and the Long Quiet become one, with one of the way being via being crushed by the plant life with the witch (the other is to die inside the Beast), this one has some not wanting you previous purpose, but it is not due to memory shenanigans but due to the subsumption of the two beings into one, being back to an approximation of what they were before makes both... loopy.
Edit:
Basically, you description makes me think you are thinking of this Princess:
When we are, in fact, talking about this Princess:
Given this, I may as well make this an informational with all the chosen Princesses in pics, to help:
Why are all the pics the old versions? This is annoying…. (Stranger radically changed between each previews and between the demo and the finished game, all the pics are of the demo version on google….)
(Edit:
Here is also a link to Tv tropes about the Princess, it is better than the wiki on who is who; though it does have mistakes too (It tells you get the wild by getting out of the Beast in her route, you don't, you have to die inside.) This also gives me better pics! hooray!)
Wild is an interesting path as it has two big forms depending on your choices during the path (only other cases are Damsel with deconstructed Damsel and Razor with either full or heart. With Razor locking you in one of the two at chapter II)
Wild has nerves and wounded.
Nerves is when you stay as one with the Princess despite the Narrator trying to make you remember you hated each other in the last path (witch or beast), you manage to explore the totality of the construct and find a crack that you use to break it a little and see the outside. This is the only path that allows you a glimpse of the real world before you reach the ending and leave with the Shifting Mound.
Wounded is when you concentrate too much on how you are two distinct beings, and separate, you end up in front of the Princess partially subsumed in a tree, from there you can either kill her (you monster) or cut her out to help her. This form is also one about redemption and forgiveness if you cut her out (almost as if the game has a theme, or something). She also lacks anything below her torso when like that.

By the way, I am going to say that the vote for revealing your semblance will be counted separately to the questions, if you don't want to do so, you should vote no, otherwise I'll count the fact that there are only yes as agreement to do it.

TBH it is fine, I'd worry if you have only a couple votes after a couple dozen of updates. That would be a genuine marker of disinterest. You got three updates. You are still in extended chargen, more or less.
If you still need something to productively worry about, then getting directed to TVtropes for character info is really not great. Like, if you want only people who know lots about both setting to participate, thats fine, but otherwise, uh.
If you want mass engagement - 20+ votes, somewhat in-depth discussion - from the start, without either having an inherited player base or (better, and) riding on super-popular setting, then you need everything needed to participate in a couple of updates + concise yet informative charsheet.
There is a bunch of other factors that might or might not be relevant depending on circumstances, but, frankly, it is nothing that you actually need to worry about. Write - regular, steady updoots are the primary means of getting the voots and invested effortposting.
I think the very beginning of the first update answers that question.
I genuinely think slay the Princess is a setting that people should discover themselves, and not through a playthrough or quest or anything else. Your first game colors your interactions, your first decisions are the most important in some ways. This is a game made to be at his best when taken mostly blind.
The creators seems to agree, since they apparently prefer people pirating their game as them watching a let's play of it.
Problem: doesn't mech with the main idea of the quest.
As I said, I am not doing any *this is what this form can do and that's final* for the Princess, her very nature is anathema to that, she changes depending on everything at every moment, there are themes, but at the end of the day, they are guidelines.
Then don't worry about lack of votes. I think you have a pretty and oddly specific idea of what "character sheet" means that I don't really agree with, but I am not here for that discussion.

Sorry, was preparing for finally playing kingdom death once again when you talked about that, you said *character sheet* and my first thought looked like this:
You can probably see why it can't really work for this quest.
I'l work on something for here. Will probably get it out next week, since I'll be in holidays and have more time to hammer it out.
I think you need to be a subscriber to create new tags (as opposed to only being able to use preexisting ones). I put in a "slay the princess" one in the setting category, but these things seem to always take some time before going through.

I did think it was something like that, I'll check if I can add the tag to the quest later, no reason to do it before it has time to be approved.
Edit:
Or not, I just tried idly and I could add it, I think it is in the process but can be shown before.
Edit2:
Well given the slay the princess tag has lost the little symbol next to it, I can guess it has been officially approved, her to hoping it will see much use!
Here is a character sheet for our dear Princess, as always, spoilers for the game inside, tread carefully.
This is you, The heart of the Shifting Mound, Princess, her Royal highness, the other half of the Long Quiet, Change given form.
You recently ended up in the world of Remnant after leaving the construct where you and you love were kept. You are officially registered as a pair of refugees from a village with no name, where you were the main guards and teachers for other who wanted to help against Grimm.
Name: Stella Panoply.
Height; Between 1 meter 60 and 30 meters (Officially at 1 meter 60)
Weight: Variable. Can be enough to have your own gravity.
Long term project: Have a romantic time watching the natural death of the local sun with your love.
Mid term project: Watch the effect of evolution on animals.
Very, very short-term project: Teach the new generations of huntsmen at Beacon.
*Semblance*: *There is no center* the ability to take different forms with different specializations, five of them (your love's gifts) are far easier to use than the others. You will change depending on how people perceive you, and can use this as a slight way to read their thoughts on you.
Aura color: Variable (see gifts), normally grey.
Your five gifts:
The Damsel, who is bad at fighting but good at making people happy. Aura and dress are pink.
The Spectre, all the powers of a ghost, able to possess the willing and knowledge on forgiving a repentant killer. Aura is white.
The Thorn, good at intrigues and helping other to learn or earn forgiveness, does not suffer betrayal, will not throw the first stone but will definitely stop any violence on her. Aura and Dress are green.
The Eye of the Needle, wants to fight, very good at it, has some problems with the concept of collaterals. Aura and Dress are Orange.
The Stranger, who can follow several slightly different possibilities of you at the same time for a little while, then crash all of them together. Reality would like it if you treated it a little less like a toy you can break at will. Aura and Dress constantly change colors when observer is not looking, and depend on the viewer.
Here is the new chapter faster than expected, I got more time to write than normal before the holydays due to being slightly sick and taking my last day out. Don't worry, it's just a cold, nothing major, just... uncomfortable.
[X] What is it like being a teacher at this establishment?
[X] What posts would be available?
[X] Yes, tell her about your *Semblance*
-[X] And explain more about the Damsel
-[X] And explain more about the Thorn
Do you have questions? Yes, you do think you have some. You nod to Glynda in acknowledgment of her advice, and begin with the first matter that you can think of:
"How is it, being a Teacher at Beacon? Our experience was in a village, this is far bigger."
Glynda smiles slightly at your question, taking a little time to think of her answer.
"Well, I won't lie, it is difficult at times. We may be a school for elites, but all huntsmen have their eccentricities, you cannot be willing to face the horde of Grimm without some things that make you… I don't know, different? From most people. Our students can be a handful and it is our duty to make sure they are ready for the world outside, so they can protect others in addition to themselves. The rest would depend on what class you teach, but I can at least tell you that you have some freedom in how to organize as long as they learn what they should from you." She seems to animate the longer she talks, clearly loving her job despite the difficulties she describes. After a little time, she seems to catch herself and cough. "Anyway, the main difference I can think of compared to what you probably encountered is that all our candidates are supposed to have already proven themselves and want to be there. You should have less problems with students that aren't able to follow than before."
"Thanks, this is definitely helpful." Your lover answers, having apparently reached a conclusion while Glynda was talking. "Can you tell us which posts are available? It would be a waste to postulate only to find out others are already doing what we can offer."
"Certainly, but given how many choices there are, it would be best if you told me some of the specializations you have, or any particular talent that could help with some classes. You are allowed to keep your secrets, of course, this would just make things easier." She looks at you expectantly, but her demeanor makes it clear you really are not forced to answer. This honesty is what makes you decide to give a little trust in return.
"Well, as you have seen, I am a specialist in fighting unarmed, which is always an important skill to have. But the thing you should probably learn about the most about me concerns my Semblance…"
She cuts you off with a raised hand.
"I reiterate that you are not forced to reveal everything right now, Semblances can be intimate, only tell me if you really want to."
You smile at her.
"Do not worry, given how visible it is, you will see it sooner rather than later, and it is best if I explain some parts in this situation." She nods sternly, then shifts to show she is listening attentively. "This is not the whole story, of course. But my Semblance is the ability to shift between different forms that each have their own… quirks? Idiosyncrasies? Specializations? This is a little difficult, I may as well show you the first one I wanted to talk about, can I?"
"Of course, as long as it is nothing threatening."
"Don't worry, this is the opposite of threatening." You reassure her.
Then you search in yourself for the gifts your love gave you, always closer to the surface of the tumultuous sea that is your being, easier to access than the ocean of infinite possibilities that you really are. You pull the one that was made to love him, and feel your entire view of the world shift.
You open your eyes and beam at the nice lady that is in front of you, you know she is nice because she is named Goodwitch, and nobody could be named like that and be a bad person!
"Hello!" You wave at her.
She raises an eyebrow and look you over from head to toes, probably noting your very nice dress and how your tiara makes you seem more regal!
"I… see. Besides the change in color, is there anything you want to tell about this form? I may see some things, but you are the one that knows yourself best."
"Of course!" You enthusiastically tell her! "This form allows me to be more approachable! Nobody can see such innocence and keep their heart completely frozen! I am also a good listener when like this, I love to help!"
"So a good way to have your students trust you?" She seems to begin to understand! That's nice! You love it when people understand each other!
"Yes!" You giddily answer!
"By the way, when she is like this, never ever ask her what would make her happy, it can lead to… problems…." Your absolutely perfect love says, you don't understand what he is implying though! He said to not ask what would make you happy, but this is simple, after all….
In his office on top of Beacon, Ozpin suddenly feels his magic react to a strange phenomenon, for but an instant, it almost seems as if reality… stuttered.
"I don't understand, I just want to make you happy?" You ask, hoping you can make him happy by telling such.
Why is Glynda looking at you like that? Why is your splendid love putting his head in his hands? Is he having a headache? You ponder on how to help him be happy while he turns towards Glynda and points at you.
"Case in point." He sighs.
"That… is something, definitely, but I am not sure why it would be that dramatic." She begins.
"Oh, no, that is just the beginning, it can get so, so much worse." He struggles with himself for a moment (you have to find what is making him unhappy, he is not allowed to be unhappy!) and turns towards you once again. "Love, can you make me unhappy?'
"Ok! If that's what makes you happy. I can make you unhappy!" You happily answer. You are so happy, you hope he is happy. Happy.
"She even answers exactly the same." He mutters under his breath, then he opens his mouth again and you are ready for the incredible revelation that his words will carry. "And if I told you that destroying the world would make me happy, would you do it?"
"Of course! Anything to make you happy!" Happy.
The happy lady is looking at you with an expression you don't understand, it is not happiness, what could it be? Happy.
"I see your point… I assume she can come back to normal? You don't seem like you would have done that if she couldn't." She says with a strange air of not happy. Happy.
"Don't worry, she can, here." You happily look at his happy mouth to hear his happy words of happiness! Happy. "Love, didn't you have something else to discuss with Glynda?"
"Ah, yes! Of course!" You turn towards Glynda, who seems to be a little disconcerted by you for some reason, no matter, you were telling her about your *Semblance*!
"I will not be able to show the second form I wanted to talk about as it takes me some time to change from one to another. But I can still talk about it!" You begin with enthusiasm, thinking on how to present the Thorn to her in a way that makes her advantages easy to see. "Just like this current one, that I call the Damsel, the Thorn helps me for social matters. But where the Damsel helps me be approachable, the Thorn is about trust, giving it, receiving it, recognizing when you shouldn't give it…. She is a me that has known betrayal and the other offering a true offer of peace, one she regretted not taking but got a chance to follow on. I think she would be perfect for helping the students with all matters of team building and some counseling."
Glynda nods pensively, thinking through what you said and her options when it comes to the jobs she can give you, no doubt. You sparkle at her while waiting, you don't want things to become awkward.
Finally, she seems to come to a conclusion.
"This certainly has been an interesting presentation, from all of that I can tell you that there are posts that would use these talents of yours, Miss Panoply, we'll talk about Mister Vault after, if you are willing to wait?" She asks the last part to Sable.
"Of course, my talents don't lie in the same domains as those of my dear Princess, so I will wait for my turn." He answers amicably.
"Thank you." And with this, she turns back to you. "Now, the first thing I wanted to talk about is unrelated to your Semblance, it seems you fight unarmed. We always are lacking in actual specialist in this matter, if you want to, there is a post there you could take. As for what your Semblance gives you… people who know how to counsel Huntsmen are rare. Most of those who take a diploma in it aren't huntsmen themselves, so we would be willing to have you for help in both normal counseling and team counseling. There is also the matter of your Semblance being versatile, allowing you to probably help students with theirs. Your empathy would certainly be a boon in this." She is matter of fact here. She trusts you enough to tell you what can be done, but she makes it clear with her tone that you will have to prove you are able to take the weight and responsibilities.
Her explanation to you finished, she goes back to your partner. "As for you, Mister Vault, sorry to have left you out for so long, do you have any particular things to talk about?"
"Hmm, I am afraid I do not have a Semblance that is as good for teaching as my dear. You have seen what I can do with my Pristine Blade, but I have no doubts you already have all you need in basic combat instructors. At the end of the day, my main advantage would be in working together with my love if possible, I have spent a lot of time with her in all sorts of situations. She always was the driving force in our dances, you see?" For the first time in a while, he is hesitating. He was so sure when he reached out to you in that cabin at the heart of yourself, to see him like that makes your heart bleed for him. It seems he is feeling the lack of a guide for the first time since the echo disappeared.
You take his hand in yours and he instantly calms down, sending you a grateful smile. You are happy for him, if it wasn't for Glynda next to you, you would simply bask in the moment, knowing you love him and he loves you, but alas, you are not alone.
"Do not worry love, the past is the past, no matter the weight you feel from it, you can look to the future. I am sure it will be bright!" You encourage him.
"Of course, Princess, how silly of me to get stuck in nostalgia when I have an opportunity to change. I am sorry for this little moment of weakness, miss Goodwitch." Your little bird bows to Glynda.
"It is no problem, mister Vault, given your current status, I am sure you have things that you regret. Let me tell you that you are not at fault for what the creatures of Grimm do. You have time to come to a decision, the license will be in a month. I will give you a way to contact me for further information during that time. I hope to see you again as colleagues." Glynda finishes with a nod. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I have other matters to see to. Goodbye, miss Panoply, mister Vault."
You both offer your own goodbyes then move on towards the town. Your love seems to want to use the occasion of you being the Damsel to have a romantic date. You gleefully agree.
The next day, you awaken after trying some new experiences. Your official status as refugees give you and Sable access to some accommodation while you wait for a job, and you used this fact to test things in the safety of a private room.
You'll admit, you don't really know what mortals see in the act of sleeping, you personally will go without from now on. The only good thing it gave you is that you could snuggle with your love during the night, but it would be better to be conscious for it, you think.
The exam is in one month, you have to prepare and get some missions done before then so as to be able to take it. You look at your scroll to see the offers to begin a new day.
Vote:
[] A train is asking for an escort during the travel from Vale to the closest settlement then back, there is no prevision of any particular complications and you will only be necessary in case of a Grimm attack.
[] There is a missing person report. Huntsmen are required as the last known place is in the forest of Forever Fall.
[] A village wants some guards due to a resurgence of Grimm nearby, this should be a simple extermination mission.
[] There are only little jobs, perfectly serviceable for what you need, but so uninteresting you will not remember any of it. (Timeskip to the license)
A/N
I cannot look at the word happy in the same way anymore… Happy.
The happy scene of happiness came to me in a flash of inspiration, I was thinking on how you could tell about your damsel form then thought about Sable joking that nobody should ask her what makes her happy, then, well, you can read the result.
Here is a video to what the event is referring to, the link is to the first level of it so you can see it clearly, the rest is at 1h 18min or so.
This part should either be a little arc before the exam, or directly going to it if you want to get begin teaching as soon as possible in quest.
No matter what, the missions aren't intended to be that long, just some social and maybe a little fight.
And we also finally have a vision of what jobs are available at Beacon! You can teach unarmed combat, help the students in team building and counseling them for their grievances with teammates, do some counseling in general, and finally do a class about semblances, how to find them, how to train them, the work.
You are of course encouraged to discuss said options, the decision on what to do will be after the license.
As for what the license entails... well, you don't have the details right now, but I can tell you that you will end up taking a teacher version of it, so there will probably be some advices to give to students at some point. (I already have an idea, have to get it hammered out a little, but hey, it's the holidays! Have more time to do it right now.)
