As this is a year before canon, i'm assuming this isn't the train from Black Trailer, and is instead another train. I'm thinking eye might be the best at fighting fellow beasts (Grimm).

You are allowed to, if you really want, but your subvote won't count like this, you need the [x] after the - otherwise the tally won't pick it up, right now, you are only voting for the train with nothing more attached.

Oh, and take care about calling the white fang beasts, I did say their portrayal will not be the canon one, as it is awful.
They may not be as you would expect at all in this AU.

All of those teaching positions sound like they can be fun, so I hope we can do more than one. My top pick is team dynamic counseling, since it'll probably be the most varied in the lessons and issues we engage in. Plus relationships are kind of the foundation of our characters (I suspect that the Princess will discover her true calling once romance comes up and she finds herself playing matchmaker for the first time).

Since Torchwick and Junior only care about dust the train is probably gonna be a sight seeing vacation since the 2 don't really know the layout of remnant yet, the forest is probably a Grimm or bandit encounter probably a chance to see a actual abandoned village. Village is a straightforward Grimm fight a hoard is a nice way to see how people deal with death and change. The 4th is just snuggling with Crow for a month which is honestly a mood and a great way to spend our time
We'll see how that develops, I use some method acting and putting myself in their state of mind to write my characters. But that also means that I can't always predict what they'll do too long in advance due to not being able to see the situation clearly enough.
In this sort of case, the variables are what the Princess will see, and if her first interactions with the team is with one post or another. It is obvious you will discuss team dynamics with them a lot as a team counselor, or hear their grievances with each others as a regular counselor, but the unarmed combat instructor won't see it that close, for example.
It also depends on what form you use to approach the teaching, Damsel is all about some true Love, the fact it includes being willing to stab your love near the heart repeatedly is just a little detail. Thorn would be more realistic... and way more suspicious.

So, for all the subvotes on going in as the Needle right away, you do remember what I said about her not being able to wait before fighting? Because, you know, you don't need to go to the village as her before you even learn anything about the situation, you can unleash her after you begin fighting, or even walking in the correct direction….
I mean, I didn't point it out right away because I feel I can make it work, but still, better to make sure everyone is on the same page here: going as her is going to lead to not interacting with anything you aren't fighting, Eye of the Needle is literally not interested in other things.
This will definitely make the little arc easier to write, as it'll be nothing but a fight, with maybe some cooldown after, but if you want something else….
Think about the first impression you'll give too, do you actually want them to think you are a bloodthirsty monster barely able to not slaughter everyone around her?
I mean, I didn't point it out right away because I feel I can make it work, but still, better to make sure everyone is on the same page here: going as her is going to lead to not interacting with anything you aren't fighting, Eye of the Needle is literally not interested in other things.

It also requires going completely against the impression you gave and the instincts of Eye to even go see the villagers after the fight instead of going back home right there and then, it's not… impossible, but it's not likely.
I would basically use some method to weight the vote against it if you tried that, and really not in your favor.
It would be far easier to do it the other way round anyway, since the villagers would be expecting a huntress when you come in, and would thus be less surprised by a seemingly nice lady going berserk in a fight rather than a berserker suddenly being a nice lady.
Consider this your QM giving you a look while saying:
"Are you sure you wanna do this?"

And for the *Damsel to Eye* transformation, even that one would be difficult.
I am going to say right now that if you go as Eye, you will jump out of the bulkhead several kilometers before reaching the village, then proceed to throw a fight with every Grimm in a large radius.
