Guys, it's Emeris.

MERLIN. He's in on the conspiracy alongside Nordred of all people. Something's fucky here.

It's not really something to worry about. I just had an idea for a neat character for who's among the traitors and would like to get to expound on him but can't right now cause if I do it'll maybe taint the vote and that would make me feel like an asshat.
Honestly, I do wish we could assign them different punishments, some of these people I'd like to be more lenient to then others.

That is a thing you can do, it's why I had the write-in option.
Since everyone is doing it. My guess at the thing is the Waifu option for our son, which would get us some glorious clay as a bonus.

Anywho, is our sister married? If not, I'm not even sure if we could try her. Laws of Chivalry say that someone of a higher station than the accused needs to hold court or a gathering of 8 peers. So if she's not married, then she's our responsibility and at the equivalent social rank (Duke) in which case we need 8 Dukes or the King to be able to reach a verdict.

I can't think of anything else... besides the fact that the last two story posts weren't threadmarked.
Fixed, sorry. Slipped my mind, it's been kind of busy.

@Voikirium is it the fact that one of the conspirators is Merlin, who is for some reason working alongside Mordred of all people?
That's mostly cause we're doing the King Arthur unit in Mythology right now, though that is also kinda fucky too, hm?

Hmmm, the only one I could see doing a write-in for is Baron Rambert, since he was blackmailed.

[X] Pardon Baron Rambert, he didn't participate willingly in this treachery.
-[X] For the rest, they take the Quest, or A quest in Pip's case.

Yeah, she's married to Baron Armistead.

Then stood the Baron Rambert. The court was shocked, as were you, to see such a stalwart man in this snake-pit. "Leverage, my Husband. Leverage. Truthsprout knows his weakness, and has played him. 'Once a man becomes a father, he is never truly free.'"
I'd like to give this man a lighter punishment, he was only doing this because he was blackmailed/threatened after all.

Lore Interrupt: The Lady And Her History
To do a little expansion on the Lady, like I promised:

When the very first Elven colonists arrived in what would be Bretonnia, they saw her in the forests. She stood for the humans. They named her Nimue.

When the Dwarfs first met the Bretonni, she was there in the underground streams, purifying them, and was called Vivien.

In the War of the Beard, she again subtly interfered to protect humans.

When Sigmar's emissaries came, they found their paths blocked by streams and creatures and eventually, very polite but also very insistent Fae who were very clear on exactly what should happen if they harmed the Bretonni, and were backed by the queen the Imperials called Mab.

When Sigismund invaded Parravon in the 5th century, the Empire grew to fear her when this self-same Mab led Fae to repel the Imperials.

The Lady has always existed in Bretonnia. She will exist so long as the idea of the kingdom where cruelty is not strength and kindness is not weakness lives on, so long as the Kingdom that was Will Be Again, so long as the strong will fight for the weak with Honor.

In short, the Lady has been around for a good long while; the Unification is only when she started being worshiped and became the goddess of all Bretonnian nobles and Bretonnia, and became attached to their particular notions of honor, chivalry, and purity.

[X] "The Quest, for the Knights. A quest, for Pip." (Knights will go on the Grail Quest, while Pip will seek out some other artifact/Slay some other creature/rescue some other princess)

This is proper way to do thing, redemm themselves with highest honour as much as possible.

.... Makes you wonder how the people who worship her are the same people who pile a ton is shit on the common folk

Just don't try to get their favorite colors out of them.

Come on everyone, Baron Rambert was forced into participating in this plot because his kids were in danger, let's at least give him a lighter sentence.

People are flawed, but the Lady isn't going to stop trying to get them to live up to the ideals she represents.

Doesn't she have a bunch of superpowered Knights running around? It can't be that hard to send a message to one of them and telling them to tell others to cut the shit out.

Meh grimderp I gueese we can try to fix it later.

I dunno, what makes the people who worship Sigmar act like a bunch of backstabbing ingrates who tear apart his Empire over petty divisions?

Technigly speaking the heads of the empire ( Elector counts) don't have to worship Sigmar nor are they personally chosen by him.

Where as the King of Bretonia ( who has absolout authority ) is first chosen by the lady to be a Grail knight and then elected by other Grail Knights.

@Voikirium Quick question regarding this, Voik - if we send Rambert on the Quest with the others, do they have to accomplish the Quest together? Because if they don't and Rambert was only involved in the conspiracy because our sister threatened his children, is it possible tha the Lady will send him visions guiding him onto a more rewarding path, away from the most vile of the conspirators? What do we know about Baron Rambert anyway?

I'm thinking that is Rambert is a truly worthy knight who only took part in the conspiraci=y out of fear for what might happen to his children, the Lady might take this as a chance to reward him rather than punish him.

They'll each go their own way and do their own thing.
