[X] Rose. The Damsel is a potent weaver of magic, and blessed in the Lady's grace; and all the more for it. That said, the Hobgoblins will seek to kill her.
[X] Godfrey. Your son was deadly with a lance before; but now, armed with the silver weapon of the Uniter, and nourished by the rays of his banner clasped in the hands of his squire Bohemond, he will be even more deadly.
[X] The Hippogriff Riders

It's not like the Hobgoblins wouldn't be seeking to kill our infantry leader anyway and Rose is a hard sort.
Godfrey gets the lead because family is dead and he'll put on a good show. He can't be coddled, anyway.
Hippogriff riders for that flying assassination strike.

[X] Trust in Professionals and the Lady
-[X] Oversee the raising of archer pits-- raised locations, surrounded by stakes and filled braziers, whence your archers might rain fire down from above on the foe in relative safety.
-[X] Pray. Visit the chapels, visit the damsels, visit all and be unkind to none; for the Lady watches with kind eye, and will not turn her back on her champions even to the end of the world.

Protect the archers and let the winnow the greenskins down and trust in the Lady.

@Voikirium Is the lead-up portion of the vote by plan or how will you select which options pass?

By plan.

[X] Annick. Though she recently gave birth, she heard there were greenskins dirtying the forest and immediately leaped to her feet, aided by the Daughters of Rhya.
[X] Lancelot. Mightiest of the Knights Unbound, he will be bane to the greenskin. That said, there are whispers he feels the weight of age upon him, and seeks to go in glory.
[X] The House-Hold Knights
[X] There's a mob of fanatics following you still. They seek to serve you; they would fight for you, if you would but let them. You might as well arm them with the basics, at least.

Just realized I wrote the wrong thing. The Greenskins are primarily coming from the Grey Mountains and the interior of Bretonnia, with the exception of Wurzag and the Hobgoblins, both of whom smuggled in using the Under-Way.

I'd rather have Rose leading the infantry than our recently pregnant daughter-in-law. She's tough and has a bonus to fighting on foot, yeah, but she just got over pregnancy and apparently needed the help of the Daughters of Rhya to get up. Unless I'm misreading it and they're going to be aiding her in battle instead of aiding her to leap to her feet, that doesn't speak well of her current health and ability to fight vigourously.

Lancelot because he's an absolute BAMF and if he wants to go surrounded by dead greenskin, well there are worse deaths

The Hippogriff Riders because this is supposed to be a surgical strike against their leadership. The ability to fly and dive down onto their best troops with however many tons of claw, beak, and fury without having to slog through all the surrounding chaff is fantastic

The last two play to our strength. For some reason all of our archery rolls have been pretty bad in this quest (at least as I can remember) so call me superstitious but I'm not betting on them now. Instead we should go for what's always helped us. The Lady and her followers.

@Voikirium, do the Hippogriff Riders form a cohesive unit, or are they just a bunch of knights who happen to ride hippogriffs and otherwise don't have much to do with each other? How many are there? Do they have any experience in fighting with Philip?

And how much is Annick still weakened from giving birth?

Not much experience fighting together, or with Phillip, but they do, occasionally, write each other looking for advice and counsel on how to tame their hippogriffs.

Annick is hurting, but with the Daughters of Rhya and the healing effects of the Waters Rejuvenating, she believes-- and is probably right-- that she can probably beat the shit out of even the average Hobgoblin specials.

Thanks for the information.

We need to properly anchor our infantry and there are few things that make formations stand unbroken than battle wizard of Life, capable of healing mortal wounds, granting regeneration, turning flesh of allies into likeness of living stone or even bringing devastation to enemy. For all that our foes will seek to slay her they will face much fiercer opposition from our men.
Our son is mighty champion wielding powerful relics, ideal person to lead charge.
Monstrous cavalry, especially mounted on beasts such as Hippogriffs is potent force, with power that rival much bigger units and great mobility (in this case). Any loss from lack of training should be more than made up by sheer force those monsters bring and ability of knights who tamed them.

Our men are well trained so we can trust them to prepare accordingly and putting mob of unprepared men, no matter how zealous , pose risk we shouldn't take here. Legends is tempting but our plan rely heavily on many units performing their tasks and making sure that they are in proper frame of mind is vital. Finally pray to The Lady.

Question: If we don't choose the archer pits option, will that still be set up, just not be as useful?
Nope. There'll be stakes and braziers, still, but the pits themselves are small towers constructed of stone; the only way to get a useful number of them up is basically using Eclatant to fly the chunks of wood and stone you need around.

The Barons Of Aquitane
The Barons of Aquitaine

"Fairest land in the world. The grain is plentiful, travelling is easy, and monsters are rare. Who would choose to live anywhere else?"
- A Noble of Aquitaine

With the tragic death of young Duke Casimir, and no heir to his throne, the seat has become disputed between two men-- more so than usual in the already tumultuous land, that is. The division is between those settlements on the coast and those sans one, and is exemplified in the division between the two claimants:

Baron Hugh and Baron Louis, who both hate each other over the matter of a maiden both sought to court.

Baron Hugh

Source

Lacking external threats to occupy their time and exposed through their ports to many foreign ideas, some knights of Aquitaine have been greatly influenced by the outside world and its ideas-- and no man more exemplifies that than Baron Hugh. His garments are crafted of Cathayan silk by their own and his blade a treasure of Nippon, his fields produce wine and beer alike, and everywhere within his lands there are scholars of every part of the world, from Ulthuan to Ind.

Perhaps most brazenly, he has actively suggested in the past that allowing peasants-- though obviously not nobles-- tightly controlled access to fire-arms as part of their military duties might well be essential to the continued safety of Bretonnia, even as he has, inspired by the success stories shared with him by those travelers from Montfort, attempted to make treaty with both the Court Tidal and the Summer Court; indeed, some have even suggested that you might see some very strange marks on the neck of his son's wife.

Obviously, this has left him an...outcast, in some ways-- indeed, it is quite possible that without his saving the King's life as he did that he would be dead. However, there are plenty of those drawn to the potential for change they see in him; even those traditionalists who disagree would rather see something done than nothing; in the words of your own son in correspondence with the Baron, "I should rather see solutions to our problems that I dislike than no solutions at all".

The Baron's claim upon the title of Duke rests mostly on the practical power of "I have the support of two other barons and many troops", though he is distantly related to the former Duke.

Baron Louis

Source

Louis is almost a mirror to his rival. He believes the solutions offered to Bretonnia's problems by the Modernists-- who include among their number Repanse de Lyonesse, a fact he is quick to hammer in-- are more than sufficient to solve any of those problems which are actually problems, as opposed to the fevered ramblings of paranoiacs.

Many of the nobles who support him do not throw the whole of their support in, for they feel he would be too quick to centralize power in the office of the Duke, in order that this civil break-down would not happen again; but then, these nobles would rather be centralized then dirtied by gunpowder.

He has in his support two barons, and many weaker Knights of the Realm who were ignored by Hugh as he essentially bullied his way into political relevancy by serving the barons who support him and the king. However, they are of poorer, less wealthy fiefdoms; still more prosperous than some of the most valuable of your lands, but comparatively, land-locked and isolated, they are poor indeed.

Baron Louis' claim is entirely that of strength-at-arms, as much of the nobility of the lands is with him.

Here, a slight primer on the barons. There are a couple other "Literally who?" candidates running around and splitting their power-bases slightly, but these are the only important two.

Rule of Thumb when a proper name finishes in E it is feminine. Allow me to illustrate with two examples

Louis

Louise

So except if that's a case of "Bretonnian cannot identify cross-dressing" It should be Baron Louis. Louise is what you name your daugter when you wanted a son.

Why

i don't know who we should support it's a pity knights can't accept bribes as there doesn't seem to be a better candidate in my mind.

Hey @Voikirium , where is the post that explained the different political groups like the Modernists again?
Here:
One is Duke Folgar, the King's Son. A Modernist-- that is, in the Bretonnian context, one who believes the modern system works best-- he has spent much of his time as a House-Hold Knight hunting down bandits and brigands and fighting off attacks from Mousillion-- developing his sword arm and not his rulership, something many have been quick to point out.

The next is Duke Josu of L'Anguille. A Modern Reformist-- someone who wishes to bring in new inventions from foreign nations-- he has been quick to peer through the world and bring back its splendor to enrich his duchy-- his men-at-arms wear Imperial Armor and fight with Tilean tactics; his fields are worked by Albionese horses; and many of his buildings are crafted in an Estalian style. Many are quick to charge him as, essentially, a servant of foreign powers.

Finally, there is Duke Armel of Aquitaine. A Traditionalist Reformist-- someone who believes that the best way forward for Bretonnia as a nation is to cut off the cruft, accumulated like fat over the ages, from the laws of Chivalry. Armel, in particular, has-- some believe-- argued for mad ideas under the guise Vrai Homme. Maddest of this, they charge, is the belief that spreading gunpowder to Bretonnia might be acceptable, if it were spread only to the Peasants.

I think I might put up a post dedicated solely to it at some point.
