Warcraft: Fallen Kingdoms (Old)

Phew, good thing the we RI the Elves escort mission. Would have been a disaster, at least we get diplomatic options with elves know. Getting a few scouts and rangers would be a good thing.

Also only 1 learning and 1 martial action locked for next turn, everything else we finished. But boy do we take in a lot of refugees. Nice to finish the integration office as each refugee costs us 1 gold while each low class gives us 3 gold in taxes. Though we may need to take another action to expand the office. Also interesting to see what is going on in Strat

Better rescue all the ones we can then, one live person is one less dead person.

Still, i think we should start sabotaging Stratholme and weaken it. Ensure that it's always weak before we move in.

Aye, the more we save the less we'll have to fight in the future.

I believe we should make sure the Trolls keep Stratholme busy while we deal with the 10k+ scourge camp North of Light's Hope first. They seem like the more pressing issue.

if both the scourge and the trolls blunt each other thats gravy. might necessitate some covert help to ensure the balance of power though, like that food issue.

hummm, on the off chance patrols encounter any infected trolls, they might prove good test subjects for how to plague of undeath progresses, better than humans even perhaps.

Light´s Hope Chapels Integration - Start
Interlude

Light´s Hope Chapel - Integration - Start

You are currently in the last meeting regarding the integration of Light´s Hope Chapel, once this meeting is finished the Chapel will be fully integrated into the Scarlet Crusade, but there is a couple of things left to decide before it is complete.

"To summaries, this integration will get us Light´s Hope Chapel and its fortification along with its soldiers and its refugees." You are talking to your advisors along with Maxwell. "We will be getting 3,000 more refugees added to our growing refugee camp, brining our total number of refugees up to 23,331, just 9 people away from matching our Low Class population."

You look around at the others.

"There are two remaining issues left, what to do with the new soldiers and what position Maxwell will have in the Crusade. Let us start with the soldiers, the forces at the Chapel consisted of 200 Archers, 300 Footmen, 30 Knights, 20 Priests and 40 Paladins, no Mages unfortunately, for most part the new soldiers will join our army without problem with the exception of the Footmen, we will have to decide if we want to send them to the Crusaders or the Defenders, we have some suggestions already."

[] Crusaders: Abbendis wants them sent to the Crusaders to bolster our offensive power.

[] Defenders: Alexandros wants them in the Defenders to make sure we have a strong defensive line.

[] Balance: Saidan have suggested we send an equal share of the men to the units.

[] Write In: I on the other hand fell that we should send them...

"The last issue we have is the subject of what we should do with Maxwell, there have been some suggestions here too."

[] Paladin Trainer: Maxwell have showed interest in training new Paladins. Can train Paladins.

[] Military Advisor: It never hurts to have more Military Advisors. +1 Military Action.

[] Diplomatic Advisor: Maxwell has done very well in keeping the peace during the time he commanded the Chapel. +1 Diplomatic Action.

Kinda ambivalent in regards to the footmen. Not really sure how much of an impact it'll have.

@Genezz: Any reason why we need Maxwell, specifically, as a Paladin-trainer, rather than any of the ~200 other paladins we already have in our service?

Why would you ever not want more paladins when fighting the undead? And keeping the footmen together is a good idea since they're used to working together and we're planning to attack relatively soon.

If training Paladins works the same as training Priests won't we basically be unable to train them due to needing the piety action to research the plague?

So aquiring an extra diplomatic action seems like it would be more useful in the long-term.

You have to have the training and knowledge to be able to train another person and Maxwell has that, as to why the other paladins can´t do it, they don´t have the training or knowledge to do so, kinda like just because you were taught a subject in school doesn´t mean you can teach in it.

You also don´t need Maxwell specifically to train paladins, you just need someone that has the training and knowledge to do so, if you are wondering why Abbendis/Saidan/Alexandros doesn´t do it, it is because they have their own duties and don´t have time to train new paladins.

Honestly seems rather arbitrary to me, and frankly also false. I'm certainly not a trained english teacher, but I can still teach people the language if necessary. Not as fast as a trained teacher, but in a pinch it'll do. And teaching is, itself, a skill that can be either taught, or naturally improve over time.
So, yeah; this should be a question of whether we want a training program immediately because Maxwell is already a skilled instructor, or whether we want to use him for something else, though it means setting up a training program will take longer because we need to find out which of our Paladins might have some natural talent as teachers.

And in that regard:

Training Paladins would most likely require spending Piety actions, much like training Priests, and for now we need those actions to deal with the Plague.
